We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

Hi Bart,
Can't the color of the layer be changed and doesn't it change the color of the anchor handles/points? (I'm on my phone and can't check). I thought that could be done but I may be wrong.Lori

We have added this issue to our backlog. Meanwhile Please use the UI scaling preferences to scale down UI to low value and resolve the issue.

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

Concur. Ideally, the default would not include hyphenation for Illustrator. InDesign, yea. Illustrator, nay.
Hi Ben,
To change the anchor points and handles, go to > Preferences > Selection &anchor display (in Mac version). Hopefully you have a recent version of Illustrator.
