Hi Everyone, This feature has been available since August 2020 release (version 24.3). Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html Thank you for all the feedback.
You can now select multiple layers in Layers panel. Click the bars (they get highlighted blue) if you want to operate layers and not their content (e.g. to drag to reorder) or click their markers to select their content — circle (target ones) or square (selection ones) next to them. There is no real difference which to pick, but if you want to select a range of layers, using Shift, use target markers.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOkay, nice to be able to select multiple, but still no option for non-contingent... sigh.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedInaction is the new action. Apparently.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedSeriously. Just did the update to 2020 and this STILL doesn't exist??? Throwing my hands up in despair!
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOh yes. Please, please please. Particularly for individual items. If I'm drawing a dog say, and I want to select 50 of 1000 strokes made by the same brush I can't select similar strokes. I can't use the lasso without selecting strokes I don't want. I have to click 50 times. Without making a mistake. I make a lot of mistakes...

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedUsed to be able to select multiple objects by (I think it was) shift/opt/dragging on the multiple bullets. This isn't available in 22.1 version. Actually, it hasn't been for awhile. Can't understand ditching this. For drawing complex objects with multiple similar strokes (say for instance, the hairs on a dog) one can't "select same". Also difficult to select the whole layer, and then unselect. Please, please, please! Bring back this feature! WHY would you disable it anyhow???

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedAbsolutely. And when I try to relink it sends me to my own documents and pictures, not to my CC library...

Illustrator allows option to Simulate Color Paper, whereby user can pick any color as the background. (This is accessible from File -> Document Setup)
Does this help solve the described concerns?

Live preview of color is now live in Illustrator 27.1.1, for Color Picker dialog, Color panel, Properties and Control panel, and Appearance panel.
It works in GPU mode only.

The most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added.
Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them.
The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. If you find this odd and want to change it — vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45855823-sync-the-order-of-align-and-distribute-menu-comman
Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYes Please! Setting up a gradient can take quite awhile. It would be great to be able to save them.
Not non-contiguous baby.
