The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
PDF is now available as type in File > Export > Export As dialog.
However, File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, similar to one InDesign has, to allow even quicker export, is absent still.

Dear users,
Can you please let us know what is that you cannot do with the existing 'save selection' functionality that you expect to do by grouping objects from different layers?
'Save selection' enables you to combine objects from different layers without having to bring them into one single layer.
To use 'save selection' just select your desired objects and save the selection from the select > save selection menu command or from the bottom of the layers panel.

The team has encountered several issues with this feature. It requires them to change the basic algorithms and it is going to take them more time than anticipated.
While it still works in Beta 28.8.0.7, the next Beta build will have Inside/Outside aligned strokes for open paths disabled. The Beta is scheduled to be live on 7th of August.
Once this is ready to be enabled back, the team will update the status.

Available in 30.8.54 Beta build.
Choose 'Auto find missing links from this folder' in the relink dialog's Replace dropdown when relinking a missing image. Illustrator scans the document and silently relinks every other missing link whose file name matches a file in the same folder, including all instances of the same image.

Unlimited, freely definable angles in the presets that correlate with the alignment when the “Shift” key is held down.
For example, when I create an isometric illustration, I want to be able to move objects at a 30° angle while holding down the Shift key. Similarly, the rotation tool should snap to the defined angle and not always be limited to 45°/90° orientations.
If I want to create an illustration with angles of 20°, 40°, 60°, 80°, 100°, 120°, 140°, 160°, 180°, etc., the existing 6 angle definitions are no longer sufficient. It would be nice if I didn’t have to define each angle individually, but could simply set a 20° increment.
