3D no longer vector
The new 3D tool in illustrator no longer produces vectors - after expanding appearance even simple non shaded shapes are raster objects. Which is a huge let down. I used to do a lot of vector isometric illustrations and now this completely killed my workflow. Please add an option for that. Thank you!
2 votesThe previous way of creating 3D is still there and will stay there, no worries!
Go Effect > 3D and Materials > 3D (Classic) to access the tools you need.
Also you can enable Render as Vector in 3D and Materials panel, but it’s not that powerful yet as the older method. This will be better in next releases.

I'd like the ability to import .spsm files to Materials.
When taken from Illustrator to a community-created assets page, there are tons of .spsm files and only a few .sbsar files. The .spsm files are the ones that I like, but I can't use them in Illustrator.

Cut-off of Effects like Drop Shadow etc
Working with Flexo plates, we need to cut-off vignettes at 3%, it would be great to have an 'Advanced' section on effects like Drop Shadow to cut off at a stated percentage. Currently have to work around by Expanding the effect, exporting an the image for Photoshop, using the Curves to cut-off of 3%, then relinking the image in Illustrator which also means having multiple files...

Make Appearance work for Type objects
More specifically, with type objects, the Appearance palette just says 'Characters', without reflecting the current stroke and fill state of the object. New stroke and fill have to be added to make the Appearance palette useful.

Stop with the supersampling export artboard option!!!!!!
Seriously its becoming an irritating issue. Everytime when i want to export many artboard one short, i have to make sure i select supersampling....... otherwise it'll come out pixelated. I'm working in a fast pace environment and i can't keep double check on that option. why not just automatic just make sure the res at 72dpi come out the best appearance? Please fix this. Because if someone wants it to be lower appearance than hey, pls do click this more option. Really irritate me. Here is an image. Left, supersampling, right is not.

Fisheye lens effect
Is it possible to apply Fisheye lens effect in Adobe Illustrator as in Freehand MX? Adobe Illustrator has some features, but not as effective as Freehand.

Custom PPI Option for Raster Effects
I am trying to create a new document in Illustator and want 100ppi rester. Unfortunately there is no option. I remeber earlier versios used to have this option, like its even available now in PS

Automatisches Textfeld, das sich an den Text anpasst
Bei Infografiken werden kurze Texte oft mit farbigen Flächen hinterlegt. Cool wäre eine Funktion in Illustrator, welche einen Textblock oder eine Textzeile automatisch mit so einer Fläche hinterlegt. Optional könnte man Farbe, Eckenradius, Transparenz, Grösse (über den Text hinaus) usw. bestimmen.

Untie the Transform Patterns checkbox in General Options and Transform Effect dialog.
Sometimes (actually pretty often) it is necessary to alter a pattern size for one single object. So you go to Appearance -> Fill -> Effects -> Distort and Transform -> Transform and there you have checkboxes to chose whether to transform object or pattern or both and that is great.
But once you have done this (for one single object) this setting changes the general Option under Preferences->General and this setting affects the entire app, not this file only and you must change it back each time. And that is not that great.2 votes -

Effect units bound to global units.
I am working with "mm" most of the time. However, when I use effects, I have to guess the right amount, since those are in "pixel" most of the time.
As an example, feather or blur, and many more.It would be nice if the units would change with the units used in the file.

Effects ( fx ) drag and drop
Just like in Abode Indesign, when you apply an effect to type or object all you have to do is drag & drop the "fx" icon in the appearance bar to the type or object you wish to apply that effect to.
Adding this same feature will increase productivity when adding multiple effects and create a more cohesive work from program to program.

Paint, Draw, Spatter on Vector like Raster for Visual turn DigitL Artisans
It takes conversations like this to know what customers want to dive into if they see adobe, & for years I tried but run away from adobe it was extreme even illustrator it didn’t feels like the art drawing, medium, etc. I grew up learning. No one grew up as a child to use adobe. But they can if it feels like it on screen. You are #1 and growing too, my voice hopefully adds more light that. Combine easier icons that newbies know, more raster in style (rebelle,artrage), but adobe all in one vector that combines the two, for…

SVG Timeline Animation
Svg kann animiert werden. Warum muss ich dazu zu svgator oder snap greifen? Ist direkt weder in illustrator, Animate noch After Effects möglich.
Ein fenster timeline zu illustrator. Keyframe Animationen und SVG Animiert müsste man dich in Adobe Produkten erdtellen können.

Remember Kai’s Powertools?
Is there a way you can match what that program used to do? It had a way better vector effects ability to extrude and shatter, etc vector shapes and letters. It worked way better than the 3D function Illustrator has.

A 3D outline Preview option;
no fill just an outline. It would be of value to minimize operating memory and provide a preview of design.
