  1. Rearrange expanded layers without collapsing

When a layer has sublayers and/or it is expanded, it is currently impossible to drag a new layer below the expanded layer without collapsing it because the new layer is automatically made a sublayer of that expanded layer. The opposite works - new layers can be placed above even when not collapsed. Being able to see desired sublayers or content and arrange in both directions would be ideal.

  2. Ability to duplicate artboards with Cmd+D

It would be nice if once you alt+drag an artboard in order to make a copy, you can keep duplicating the artboard with the same displacement, just pressing Cmd+D.

As it happens when you do it with a form or an image.

    Thanks!!

  3. Exclude single object or layer from moving with artboard

It would be great to exclude a layer or single object even with "move locked and hidden artwork with artboard" enabled. This allows for a more flexible approach when dragging artboards with and without artwork.

  6. Remove the default 72 PPI resolution

There is NO device on Earth (except in museums) that have 72 PPI screen.
However, EVERY new screen-intended document created today in Illustrator and Photoshop STILL made with only 72 PPI by default.

With this laughable resolution, all raster effects are rendered, looking just bad on any screen.

Since 72 PPI is the actual World Standard, it confuses many Adobe users and it has to be changed for good.

Today's computer screens have at the very least 120 PPI, but the phones for which many projects are created have a way higher pixel density of 450 PPI and more. The…

  8. Create artboards to CENTER of stroke pleasssseee!

If i create a box with a fill and stroke, use (Shift+O) for Artboard tool, I double click my box and a new artboard is created.
When I double-click my shape with the Artboard tool, it creates an artboard around the stroke width and not the actual bounding box or CENTER of the stroke.
I believe illustrator used to preform this operation correctly in the past.

  10. Locking and unlocking objects on a current artboard only

Discussed in our team is the annoying way Illustrator unlocks EVERYTHING on the pasteboard - why can unlocking be isolated to the artboard you are working on? Like indesign. I use locked objects a lot when I am creating concepts and use layers when creating final artwork. Using layers slows down the way you work.

  11. Snap document window to artboard size

In Photoshop, when you have a document open you can drag the window bigger/smaller, revealing the 'canvas' around your document.

If you then use 'CMD -' or 'CMD +' to zoom in or out of the document, the actual document window snaps back to the size of your PSD.

Illustrator acts differently - if you zoom in or out, the document window itself remains the same size - you just see more of less of the document's canvas around your artboard. It's a pain, as if you have several documents open that you want to be able to see at…

  13. Highlight the active artboard MORE

When we work on multiple artboards, it will be good to recognize the artboard who is used when I select a object or I click on a artboard and to active it.
So when I select all elements in my document, with the keyboard shorcut, all of the objects of my active artboard will be selected. Or if I select an object every where, the artboard containing this object will be activated automatically.
often, i select all objects on my first arboard but he's not active and when I paste in place in an other artboard of an other document,…

  14. Complete user-defined default settings

The work I do for my company has certain defaults that go beyond the layout of my workspace. I only use one font, I always need the same set of color swatches, I use the same tolerance amounts, etc. I export to PDFs the same way every time, I essentially need the same options. (And even with a template, I have to start from scratch for many of these options.)

While I can save certain usual elements in my CC Library, I waste so much time saving and opening and searching. AND even then, I still have to reset the…

  15. Please consider resizing second artboard (14,400 x 14,400) on video presets

While the second artboard on the video presets is incredibly useful so imported art doesn't get cut off in After Effects, it is unnecessarily large. I can't imagine that anyone is actively storing art to be animated from off screen 7,000 pixels above or below the main artboard. Many people think this artboard is a mistake, but it would be far more useful if it were about 3000x3000 in a 1920x1080 document. Hitting Cmd/Ctrl+1 to "Fit Artboard to View" often zooms out to show the gigantic artboard because it is automatically selected any time you click outside of the main…

  16. Allow a new feature to resize workspace so the page doesn't get hidden behind the dock

Several of us on Adobe Forums experience the same issue for many years. Often times the workspace window gets hidden behind the dock, or even below the visible area of the monitor, there is currently no way to adjust this. I am trying to resize the window of my current workspace and I cannot. Bottom right corner not visible. It's a shame that after 18 years of using this application we still have basic issues like this. Please fix this as soon as possible. Thank you so much.

  17. SVG code for current document visible in non modal view

When fine-tuning SVG files, the ergonomics of the workflow are far less than optimal. This is especially problematic because SVG supports only a subset of what is possible in Illustrator.

A round trip to some other app, or viewing code via the export modal feels awkward and is certainly time-consuming. Worse, it takes me away from the main Illustrator editor where my art is actually visible/editable.

Can't we have a panel which shows the SVG code 'live', without having to visit the file menu. It need not be an editable code view, but 'pretty printing' and perhaps code folding would…

  19. artboard size fit

It would be great if Illustrator created a new artboard to fit copy and paste elements - as done when you copy to clipboard and paste in photoshop. It would be helpful when need ing to create multiple illustrator files ( say logo variations, or icons etc) instead of having to manually resize the artboard/page size
