Snap document window to artboard size
In Photoshop, when you have a document open you can drag the window bigger/smaller, revealing the 'canvas' around your document.
If you then use 'CMD -' or 'CMD +' to zoom in or out of the document, the actual document window snaps back to the size of your PSD.
Illustrator acts differently - if you zoom in or out, the document window itself remains the same size - you just see more of less of the document's canvas around your artboard. It's a pain, as if you have several documents open that you want to be able to see at…

This option already exists in Illustrator, in Preferences > General, although the name of it is quite obscure — Show/Hide Rulers. Once it’s enabled, each new or opened document will have rulers enabled.

Allow large format canvas for outdoors/billboards design without scaling
Using Illustrator (or InDesign, for that matter) to make outdoors/large printing projects is a huge pain - many times the production team (which is usually NOT the same team that designed the thing) doesn't read properly the instructions, and then errors happen.
Also, other older software packages don't suffer from that kind of artwork / artboard size limitations.

Artboard dimension pop up box when using Artboard tool.
Would love for the Artboard tool in the tools panel to operate like the rectangle tool so that when you click inside the work space it pops open a box to input
desired dimensions instead of dragging to desired dimension.4 votes -
Measuring units & grid settings embedded to the document
It would be great if Illustrator would store the measure and grid settings with the document (tab and/or file), it would be cool for that users, who works on print and online materials simultaneously.
So when I open the old document it would be brings those settings that I configured when I created it. Thank you so much.4 votes -
Right click lock unlock on layer will lock inverse and lock/unlock
Sometimes I have 10-20 layers, half of which are unlocked. i then want to work on just one so i would lick to right click the lock symbol and it isolates that layer, locking all others
4 votesIt woks in Ai already. You have to hold Opt/Alt and click the lock icon next to the layer’s name. First click will unlock any other layers first, but second will lock all other layers but the one clicked.
Does it solve the problem?
Same works with Toggle Visibility column.
Photoshop does it a bit differently and skips the Show / Unlock All step.

Introducing Column feature for the Artboards panel
Having columns in the artboards will be great, Now, If we have more than 50 artboards, We spend a lot of time scrolling up and down just to replace artboards.

【要望】ファイルを開いたときにサブレイヤーを展開しないようにしてもらいたいです。Please not expand sublayer each time I open file.
レイヤーをスッキリ見せるためにサブレイヤーを使用しています。
しかし、ファイルを開くたびにサブレイヤーが展開され、逆にごちゃごちゃ見えてしまいます。
展開しないよう、改善してもらえたら嬉しいです。I am using a sublayer to make the layer look simple&clean.
However, every time I open a file, the sublayer expands and conversely looks messy.
I would be happy if you could improve it so as not to expand it.4 votes -
Copy/move artboards with the content
Why have you deleted the function "copy/move artboards with the content" in the last update? It was really gorgeous! Now I have to unlock and make visible all the layers again to create several version of my graphic design, and it is really annoying! I would like the possibility to copy/move one or more artboards with the content, even if it is on locked or hidden layers, and without the content when it is on locked or hidden layers.
Please, consider both functions, the copy/move with content was one of the best updates that you have ever made!!!

Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display>"Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard"
Please email us on sharewithai@adobe.com if it still does not solve your problem. -
Dragging layers between documents like Photoshop!
I find it bizarre that you can't drag multiple layers between documents, like in Photoshop. I can only copy and paste in to a new document, which combines everything as one layer, which I then have to go through separating all the objects again. This is such a time sink!

Artboard spacing only feature
I often have my artboards grouped very specifically and they do not have an even number of artboards in each row. When I need to rearrange the space between all my artboards that becomes a huge hassle.
I'm forced to choose a column number, which alters my arrangement of columns/rows.
The ability to turn off the "column" preference and only alter the artboard "spacing" would be very helpful.4 votes -
Add Frames for images and text like in InDesign
In InDesign it's possible to add frames for text and imagery, and although Illustrator isn't necessarily the layout application — it would be great to get this feature on it too.

Add trim marks back to artboards like in previous versions
Add trim marks back to artboards like in previous versions. As a print shop we use these everyday to quickly and accurately resize artboards so center crop marks and registration marks are not too close to the art when we print films. Not sure why this was even removed.

Artboards in 2018 can no longer be rapidly deleted
In past versions of Illustrator, I was able to click on an artboard and continuously delete artboards until I had to ones that I want. Now when I select an artboard and delete it, the selection is deselected. I now have to continuously highight and delete, highlight and delete until I have removed all the artboards I need.

Change the layer an object is located on
If you have a large artboard with multiple objects and layers it is really time consuming to organize your layers when all you can do is drag and drop. I think it would be useful if you could right click on an object and "move to layer" like you can in muse.
4 votesThere is a way – let us know if this works for you.
- Select the object(s).
- Highlight the layer you want the selection to go to.
- Object menu or right-click > Arrange > Send to Current Layer -
Make a way for Scale Artwork with Artboard mode to NOT scale strokes and effects
It’s good to finally have Scale Artwork with Artboard option (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31500847), but I really wish for it to respect Scale Strokes & Effects option.
For now Scale Artwork with Artboard behaves as if it’s always enabled... I realize scaling strokes is natural for this mode, but the current way means if we need to scale an artboard, but NOT scale the strokes — we can’t do that.
It almost feels like it should be a separate option specifically for it.3 votes -

Resize Artboard: Fit to visible.
When dealing with a single page of artwork, resizing the artboard to artwork bounds does not take layers being hidden into consideration. So you have an artboard larger than your desired artwork.
Along with fit-to-artwork bounds and fit-to-selected artwork, can we have a third option for fit-to-visible layers, please?3 votes -
Batch rename of artboards and layers
its so hard today to work with renaming many artboards. At the export (file > Export....) its the same problem, even if we decided to "Asset Export", we don't have the control of that. This featured is used so many time in Figma, por example, even we can perform a RegEx renaming.
