Scale Obect or group of objects base on two reference points (similar as in CAD)
This is useful when you need to exactly match the scale of two objects or especially group of objects. Say you have changed the scale in one file but have received a new file from a client that is in the original scale. You want to quickly match the scale change. If you have at least one reference line that hasn't changed, you can pick two reference points on the new object(s) and then the two matching points on the scaled file. This matches the the scale exactly. This can also be used in many other ways.

Color swatch import bug
To illustrate the bug - I have a file named logo and a file named base. Both have swatches named PRIMARY and SECONDARY (see attached). As I place the logo into the base file - even as a preview - the PLACED file adopts the swatch colors of the base file. I literally need to do the opposite. I need the base file to adopt the swatches of the placed file. Needs to have an option to REPLACE swatches.

Make the 'Create PDF Compatible File' tickbox permanent or lockable.
Make the 'Create PDF Compatible File' tickbox permanent or lockable.
Without this being ticked, I can't see any thumbnails of my illustrator files, which is completely disruptive to work flow. I'd like to request that users be able to lock this tick box to ticked status.
Currently, it's 'sticky': whatever you did last time sticks. Unless you open a doc that was saved without it checked.
Working in a studio, I handle all kinds of files made by all kinds of people, and time is of a premium.
'Sticky' but with a fin-print-style 'but' that requires you to be vigilant every single time you save is useless, in my experience.
At least provide a warning that the user's preferred way to save has been changed by them having opened a file that runs counter to their preference and has un-ticked their preferred setting.

Document Recovery Panel
Crash Recovery or document recovery is a life saver during unexpected crashes or Force quits of Illustrator sessions. However it becomes a nightmare, when it forces to recover documents from an old session and take ages to recover those document.
A simple panel similar to MS Office will be really helpful for me to make a choice of what i want to recover and what to throw away before working..
Its not always I need to use the old opened documents which I was not editing/ creating but just viewing as reference.
Also its not always I want to waste time opening huge files all at once in form of recovery from some one others failed session before.
A non-blocking experience to choose what I need is must needed is this modern era. Specially when other applications in this world have already solved this problem.

"Select Same Fill/Opacity/Appearance/etc" in Freeform Gradients
I work in printing, we just got 15 files in using freeform gradients where the majority of the gradient is 80% opacity and the edges of the shapes are 10% opacity. After printing samples, the customer has decided to change the 80% to 100%. Normally, this is very quickly executed with solid colors and within gradient meshes by selecting one object or point and choosing "select same opacity" from the menu. But this feature is not available in the freeform gradients. I now have the task of individually changing the opacity on over 1500 points across all of the files. With how popular the freeform gradients are becoming, I expect this issue may arise more often as many artists will need to perform minor tweaks which should take literally seconds, but will turn into multiple hours of tedious work. Not to mention that the opacities are similar enough that it leaves a large margin of error if any of the color points are missed. because of human error. Please let the computer do the dirty work!

Copy/paste vector: Figma → Illustrator
Can we be able to paste vectors from Figma, please?
In this other post you already made it possible to copy/paste from Illustrator to Figma, could we please have the whole workflow instead of only half of it?

Add Export JPG/PNG option to Package Feature
Please add an "Export As..." option the Package feature settings so we can export JPG or PNG files in the packaged file folder. This would be immensely helpful! Thanks

Batch Import Swatches
How about the ability to batch import swatches or gradients using csv or xml files? It would make it significantly easier to import colours from sources like ColorBrewer or matplotlib.

Workspace layout seems to constantly change over time. Keep it more fluent and natural
I can arrange workspaces, rearrange them, add new ones, remove some and so on and on and on. My issue is that somehow, the tools and panels I want are never at hand when I need them.
It's so subtle that I can't put my finger on the exact issue. But it's suddenly occurred to me that as far as I can remember, I'm always rearranging the workspace layout in Illustrator to get the tools I need, but I don't have this issue in other Adobe apps. I've been using Illustrator as my core graphic design tool for around 8/9 years.
This has slowly been dawning on me. I think there's a lot of things going on here.
- Issue: For Premiere Pro I can sync workspaces to my account. I presumed this is standard behaviour for all Adobe apps. However I have always used the same account and I have several times over the years set up custom workspaces in Illy. But I've just looked now and I can't see any - I don't know when they disappeared or why but it's happened.
Solution: synchronise workspaces to my Adobe account. Keep them there regardless of Illustrator version. Sync to all computers using my account.
Issue: Popups. In more recent years, I seem to get popups appear about once a week about something that I'm not at all interested in, usually some irrelvant new feature. I open Illustrator to work, not to play around with the latest features.
Solution: please get rid of these popups and tutorials unless I ask for them. The things I do in Illy, I know how to do. If I don't know a feature, I probably don't use it.
Issue: Sometimes the workspace opens on the same one as last time when I open Illustrator. Sometimes it doesn't. Not sure what the expected behaviour is here, but usually it seems to open on "Essentials". Every time, I switch to "Essentials Classic" and then add any other panels I need. Unless I have a custom workspace that hasn't disappeared yet.
Solution: every time I open Illustrator, switch to the last workspace I was using.
Issue: Over time as UI design changes, the workspaces change too. I get it, you add more features, you play around with the default workspaces. But please don't make it affect me.
Solution: Add more features if you like but don't push them out to my workspaces unless I want them. Ask me if I want to switch / update workspaces.
Issue: Workspaces always seem to be resetting and panels I add to my workspace disappear next time I open Illy.
Solution: Auto save changes to workspaces as they're made. Even default workspaces, just save the changes.
That's just a few things that are obvious to me. But the whole workspace just seems to fluctuate often, and I just want to get the tools up that I use and keep them handy instead of rebuilding my workspace every time I open Illustrator.

Retain layer blend modes from Photoshop when placing in Illustrator.
Please, allow the layer blend modes from Photoshop files to be retained when placing them in Illustrator. It's done within Corel, it should be native to Adobe products.

Blend annotator
It would be good if the blend tool worked like the gradient annotator where you can weight the blend along the linear axis using sliders to quickly adjust the spacing of the blended objects.

File Save Options - Recovery data location
I'm running the latest version of Illustrator (26.2.1 as I'm writing this) but my data recovery preferences are somehow stuck at the location for Illustrator 20 and the application warns me every time that it can't save recovery data for the current document. I can change this, I know, but that still just keeps it then stuck at the location for version 26, and will presumably break again when version 27 is released.
What I need is some way to restore the default behaviour which would (presumably) automatically update to the correct relative location for the current application version.2 votes -
Type tool does not keep selected color
If I have one fill color selected on the type tool, it changes to black the moment I click on the artboard to begin typing. It needs to stay the selected color for all tools. I shouldn't have to go back and change the color.

Add RANDOMIZE button (RANDOM SEED) for 3D Materials like Substance 3D has.
Add a Randomize button (RANDOM SEED) for the sbsar materials that we import when working with 3D within Illustrator. This way, 3D objects, look different within your work. Example from Stager as to what I mean that would like implemented in Ai.

the touch gestures controls need and option to mirror the touch gestures for photoshop
Touch gestures in illustrator just feel terrible compared to the touch gestures in photoshop. I paint a lot in photoshop and it's never been an issue to pan zoom rotate ect, but every time I switch over to illustrator it just feels buggy. Half the time i try to pan it will either right click, or move an object i didn't want to select, and it only lets you do one action per touch when i can pan and zoom simultaneously in photoshop. plus the 2 finger double tap to reset canvas view seems to be missing from illustator as well.
Please just give us the option to mirror the gesture controls present in photoshop

Ability to enlarge thumbnails in PLACE dialog box.
When I invoke the PLACE command, I have not found a way to control the size of thumbnails shown and can't find what I need. I often have 30 jpgs and at the size they are I literally cannot see them well enough to find the one I want to place. Am I missing something?

Shift + click on menu items (File, Edit, Object, etc) w/o closing menu after click
Whenever I use the menu items (File, Edit, Object, Text, Select, Effects, View, etc) sometimes you go into a submenu, and select one option, e.g:
1. Go to View Menu
2. Select Perspective Grid sub-menu
3. Select Hide guides
4. Go to View Menu (again)
5. Select the Perspective Grid sub-menu (again)
6. Find and click my option (eg. "Snap to guides")Now if I could for example "shift+click" to keep the menus open after the click:
1. Go to View Menu
2. Select Perspective Grid sub-menu
3. Shift+click "hide guides"
4. Click "snap to grid" (without shift when I don't need it open anymore)It gets shorter, more efficient, and sometimes menus content is hard to memorize, so having the option to keep it open would make it quicker too.
