  1. Illustrator 'unexpected' quitting

    Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 quit unexpectedly while launching or working in between very often for many iMacs. Please help me to resolve this.

  2. Slow doing anything.

    When I open the program, everything is going and moving fast, after awhile it gets really slow!
    I understand that it maybe after awhile the cache gets full and the program gets to operate slower but this is not the case here.
    With previous versions I didn't have to close and open the program in order for it to speed up. I would go for weeks not needing to close it. Right now in just couple of hours the program works from fast to being slow for no reason.

    I'm using a MacBook Pro Mid 2012. I've updated all of my apps. For some reason my JPG image won't place in Illustrator 22.1

  4. Option + Arrow Key Not Working in Illustrator 2018

    In all previous releases that I can remember. If you held down the option key and then tapped arrow key Illustrator would create a copy and move the object by the distance set in preferences. In the current version this functionality is missing and actually nothing happens. Is this working for anyone or is there a fix?

  5. Selection of multiple text objects - changing font not working

    We can no longer change the font of multiple text objects at once.
    When multiple text objects are selected, Ai thinks this is a 'mixed selection' and does not come up with the typeface selector. Slowing down my work incredibly.

  6. crashing

    So, I updated to the latest version of illustrator about two weeks ago. Then I realised it crashed every 30 minutes or so, every single time i used it. I'm not doing anything particularly heavy, it just crashes randomly. and I often lose the work i've done as the auto save doesnt seem to catch the last few things I've been doing. So, I decided to uninstall and go back to the 2017 version. Which then lead to my documents having their own issues. all saving as transparent, or with weird lines going through them.   7. Illustrator freezes - must close using Task Manager

    Illustrator freezes, menus not accessible and/or if they open, it is blank. I can still select items on the artboard, but cannot use anything in menus and tools. Once Illustrator freezes, I cannot close unless I use the Task Manager.

  8. Illustrator CC (2018) will run out of memory and/or crash

    Will sip every mb of your memory and won't let me zoom in after that, changes to CPU preview and will tell that there's no memory left and crash.
    Happened to me several times in one day alone and with only 2 files open (light vector only). I have a 24Gb RAM workstation and it swallows 20GB in 1/2 hour.

  9. Illustrator CC won't embed color profile correctly

    Windows 10 64-Bit
    Illustrator 22.0.1

    Whenever I am saving an Illustrator .ai file with the checkbox for embed color profile checked, the resulting file does not have a color profile embedded correctly. When I reopen that file in Illustrator it seems to have the correct profile embedded but in Bridge or InDesign the file appears to have no color profile attached. If I export the same file as .psd file Illustrator embeds the color profile correctly.
    My colormanagment is synched via Bridge.

  10. Illustrator CC 2017 crashes when i copy paste anything from it

    When i try to copy paste anything from the Illustrator, It crashes.
    1. I use the latest Illustrator CC 2017
    2. For example i draw a cube
    3. I open the Photoshop as well
    4. Back to Illustrator and copy the cube and try to paste into the photoshop but the Illustrator crashes.
    5. I reinstall it and rebooted the PC of course but nothing changes
    6. Honestly if i push the "CTRL-C" within Illustrator it crashes asap, so i cannot copy/paste anything within the AI.

  11. Sizes and coordinates get distorted in SVG export

    Adobe Illustrator CC on Mac OS
    I composed a graphic in Illustrator to use as a SVG Sprite in CSS. To make sure all my sprites render sharply I aligned my vectors to full pixel coordinates and sizes. Unfortunately those same coordinates end up on some slightly odd positions in the source of the exported SVG.
    I used the "Export as..." function with Decimals set to 2.

  12. svg not opening correctly in Illustrator CC

    When opening a .svg file Illustrator (creative cloud 2018) is opening a blank canvas. However a co-worker who is working off a previous version of illustrator (2015 I think) is able to open the file correctly.

  13. Flickering cursor icon and Unresponsiveness (High Sierra 10.13.4)

    Got a new Mac running 10.13.4, installed adobe CC completely fresh. Illustrator is very slow, often comes to a complete stall / irresponsive, and I have to constantly restart the application. And even after the restart, it is still very slow. I turned off everything, including the GPU performance and other things it didn't help at all. The cursor flickers for several tools. It has become very unuseable and drag the time I normally would be able to finish a project by 2x at least.

    Can you please check if Dictation is on your MAC. We are aware of an issue where Dictation software was interfering.
    If this does not work, please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

  14. as if the shift key is stuck (all functions and operations)

    After installing the new version, when in Illustrator, shift key has to be held down or things don't work. It's as if the shift key is pressed and I have to press it to release it, if you know what I mean. If I try to select a new tool and click it in the tool panel - nothing happens. If I hit the shift key and do the same again - works fine.

  15. Illustrator CC (multiple versions) stroke alignment error when rectangle is set to a certain size

    I have tried this across multiple computers that have Illustrator CC at different updates (mine is 21.1.0) & get the same result every time.

    If you create a rectangle that is at least 48" w x 120" h, set the stroke to 0.25pt, no fill, align the stroke to the inside and the review the bottom left corner an error appears. The bottom part of the path tapers from the correct thickness to no thickness from right to left. It seems to go away if you make the stroke slightly thicker or if you make the rectangle smaller. Not sure…

  16. The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [xlfd]

    I have two customers that send me hundreds of Illustrator files created using a Windows version of Illustrator. Every one of them reports this issue on opening: "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [xlfd]." I click OK and everything is fine in the document as far as I can tell. The problem is that I need to batch save these files as PDFs, but I have to sit there and click "OK" for every file so defeating the purpose of batch processing. This is a recurrent bug with the last three revisions of Illustrator. Please resolve it.

  17. Applying a new graphic style duplicates paths into hidden groups when exported into SVG

    This is a severe bug that ruins SVG export by creating multiple copies of the same paths after switching graphic styles.

    I believe something caused a created graphic style that should have only had a simple fill to create copies of the path when applied to paths.

  18. Crash in Illustrator CC 2018 while using Wacom

    After copy paste selected type tool, rotate tool and then again type tool with wacom. It resulted in crash on my mac.

  20. Rasterizing artwork Overprints being discarded

    When you rasterize art that has overprints the overprints are being discarded.
    Illustrator CC2018 22.1
    See screenshots attached. The picture showing dragon scales are displayed as Vector art still and Overprint preview on. Once rasterized the scales disappear.
