Photoshop has the option to add an artboard colour - surely Illustrator can do the same? It would help when creating web ads. Having to make background rectangles and lock them is an extra step that would be great to eliminate.

I frequently create large amounts of web ads in Illustrator and need to create a background colour on each. It would be REALLY helpful if a background colour could be added at setup. I need the colour to export, so the workaround of 'simulate coloured paper' does not work.

ok, so I think I've got to the bottom of this. There is a difference in how an image with a clipping mask and one with a transparency mask is displayed.
By default I use the transparency mask as I often utilise the transparency options within this mask. The transparency mask keeps the entire masked image 'active', while the clipping mask only keeps the image area within the mask 'active'.
It would be super handy if both mask options acted the same and only made the image area that is within the mask clickable. Maybe something to address in a future update?

Hi, I'm not using the direct selection tool - it makes no difference if I use the selection or direct selection tool - see screen grab.
    Using latest version of Illustrator.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.1 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Count me in! Any object when using scale tool - seems to remember a previous transform (move, rotate etc) and applies that as well as adding in random scale percentages, often non-uniform. Quite often tells me I can't apply the transform as the object would fall off the artboard.
    Incredibly frustrating!

As per a lot of comments below this change is not helpful at all.

I have to export files to a folder buried deep with a client's DropBox, which means for every export I'm clicking through multiple levels of folders to get to the right location.

This would be greatly improved if we had the option of exporting to last folder or folder where the file is located.
