The fix for this issue has been rolled out with Illustrator 27.3.1 release available through Creative Cloud Desktop.
Please update to 27.3.1 version to ensure you do not run into this issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment Chris, I believe you meant me, not Lincoln, right?
I agree with the tone and the lack of stability Ai has. I also know that if we don’t right and demonstrate and share out problems, the team won’t have any clue about us having problems at all.
Also — not sure why should I have a Mac (which is reported to have this problem) instead of a Windows machine (which odes not have one)... but sometimes it goes the other way.An error occurred while saving the comment Lincoln, can’t replicate — but I am on Windows.
An error occurred while saving the comment @laurent, @stuart, this problem WAS caught and reported in the testing, in the Beta, by me, two months ago. A half of it was fixed (along with other resolved problems), but this half — was not :(
Imagine my anger right now.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

If you do — please record a short video and/or give exact steps on how to reproduce it, share a test file. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I understand the frustration, and the example is pretty clear.
Paste Remembers Layers is also a really sneaky option, it changes the default behavior substantially, but Ai does not really telegraph it anywhere.
But the behavior is intended and works for many other cases than this one... you’d have to disable the option to force Ai to not honor original layers.
But I agree it should be more clearly told what is going to happen when one pastes. An error occurred while saving the comment I can't agree on that yet. Can you describe what it can be good for?

An error occurred while saving the comment I got the files, thanks.
Als, when I open it, it behaves just fine, nothing is missing for me like you show.
I am able to move it into another document, and place it as linked also.
I checked it on Windows 10 with both the latest release and the Beta.
What are you specs?
Does it help to toggle GPU mode? Scale down the object? Move it or rotate? An error occurred while saving the comment Can you please share this TIFF and this Ai file with that linked TIFF with the mask here, so the team can study it?

An error occurred while saving the comment Please locate the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file (for you current Ai version — it can be located somewhere here: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator [version] Settings\[locale]\x64), open it in text editor and check two flags:
/isRulerOriginTopLeft
and
/isRulerIn4thQuad
By default these are set to 1 and define which corner Ai uses for 0,0 coordinates (top left or bottom left) and if the axis should go up or down.
If you set these to 0 — Ai will behave like it was in CS4.
Here is a discussion (one of many) on community forums: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/how-to-change-the-quot-y-quot-coordinate-from-positive-to-negative-when-moving-down/m-p/11079361Make sure both these match (both 0 or both 1) and see if changing them helps in anyway. Please reply back.

An error occurred while saving the comment Please share the full specs of your OS and GPU specifically: model, driver version.
Does it help to switch to CPU mode?
Does it happen with other tools? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Definitely yes, voted.
I know that PathScribe plugin does it, including shrink/grow, but it allows to select a next/previous point with a click only if you have one point only selected. One the other hand, it allows to set a custom point selection using pattern index.
Can you provide some mockups to clearly illustrate the way you think it should work and tell more about the task you want to solve with it?AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment I’d love to see that file, but I am sure that you don’t have it after 3 years...
It happens in Ai when a point is considered to be smooth and has a special flag, but the angle between handles is not 180°. And when a single handle get modified, Ai then moves the other one accordingly, respecting the Smooth flag.
Why this initial discrepancy happens... there are many reasons, and it’s hard to track them.
There is a plugin that helps to track it and fix these points, changing 'smooth' flag to 'corner' for those points which have handles broken, — VectorFirstAid, a paid one, https://astutegraphics.com/plugins/vectorfirstaid
There is a also a free script, Select Points By Type: https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Select.md#selectpointsbytype — but it only selects 'broken' points, allowing a user to decide what they want to do with those. If you still have the file — please share it.

An error occurred while saving the comment Steve, these are nice additions, but you should not pile them over in one request. It makes it harder to find, upvote, and prioritize.
One idea per entry, please.
Do you mind me making me three separate entries out of it? (the fourth one already exists) -

An error occurred while saving the comment OK, I see your point, it;’s a popular workaround. I am making sure the team sees it. Thank you!
An error occurred while saving the comment Alas, this is an expected consequence from the change done by the team to boost panning and zooming in GPU mode. Some things get hidden now while we pan and zoom, including all annotations (guides, grids). However, I believe it can be reviewed, if we give enough reasons.
I have my own, but why having transparency grid is important for you while you pan? Please try to explain.

Background:
- CC libraries does not have support for Global Process Colors
- Some users have spoken about InDesign – InDesign does not support Global Process colors
- Illustrator does support process colors , global process colors and spot colors. The issue is specefic to global process colors – since it is not supported in CC Libraries. We have added the request to support in CC libraries backlog,
Workaround:
- Create Process colors in Illustrator and add it to CC libraries – deselect the global checkbox

Chuck, this is an automated bullet conversion happening.
Unlike something like Word, it does not signal it happened.
You can remove (or adjust) these bullets in Paragraph panel (second row), and disable auto-conversion completely from Preferences > Type, 'Automatic Bulleted and Numbered Lists while typing'.
Please write back if it helps.
