A general un-usability
I use a Mac desktop. Illustrator 28.1. There is a lot going wrong for me when using Illustrator lately. Overall it crashes itself like crazy as well as makes other apps on my computer not work when running it. It won't open sometimes, won't respond when in illustrator. Won't let me access the tool panel, so I have to force quit and re-open my not saved file. There are artifacts that will randomly show up in my art board. It's acting as if Illustrator is taking up way more memory than usual. I have been just having to force quit or start my computer completely. Even after that it's not running great. I have been waiting for an update because this has been only since the past update it's been behaving this way. Theres been no change in the apps I run along side it.

Sonoma, which MacOS version do you use?
Does it work better if you downgrade to a previous version of Illustrator — the earliest one the CCD allows to get? When you say you can’t access the tool panel — does it mean you can’t click it, or is it not visible, or something else?
Can you share screenshots of the artifacts you get on canvas you mention?
How much memory does Illustrator take specifically?
