Dina, I thought this at first... but I think users mean to have the list of fonts they can scroll without making the dropdown pop, like a panel with a list, similar to something like Brushes, Graphics Styles, Text Styles... to make this dropdown persistent.

Yep, this one is not detachable, this is a modal dropdown.
Using a separate Character panel helps to make it pop where you need it to be. Have you tried it?

So you are saying a Packaged .ai file picks links from older paths, and not from the adjacent Links folder inside of the package folder?

Doesn’t happen for me with 30.5.1 — but on Windows 10...
@Tomotaro Osakaya, I wonder if you can reproduce it all the time, with any document, after restarting also... I realize, however, that you downgraded already. Thanks for the report!

I am able to recreate a similar behavior:
    1. Create one artboard and draw something
    2. Save a document
    3. In Export As choose PNG, disable Suffix (but keep Use Artboard)
    4. Choose a different name than the doc has, confirm
    5. Try to Export As again using same settings, choose the same name as the already exported doc has

Here Ai should have checked if the given name — without the suffix added — exists, and warn about the match, but it doesn’t.
I’m pretty sure this was reported previously and we had similar problems before.
I’ll try to locate older reports and test it with older builds.

Thank you so much for the clarification, and the fix in the first place. So the Ai team didn’t offer any clarification and the fix is a patch, rather than a two-sided solution... sad to hear this. Let’s hope it would stay stable at least.

Leigh, I’m told the engineering team is investigating this is planning to reach the Typeface team to discuss it further. Fingers crossed!

It’d require both of them, Adobe and the Typeface team working together, I believe... let’s start with the 'have broken' — how? What goes wrong and how exactly?
The Ai team would need all the information you can provide to start investigating. I’d advise writing the other team too, to make them aware.

Yasir, the Character panel allows you to mark specific font families as Favorites (but not specific font styles it may have, like Italics or Bold), with a star button, right next to the name of the chosen family’s name in the 'Set the font family' drop-down list. To access these, you can enable 'Show Favorites Fonts' filter in the same menu.
This is not exactly a floating panel with presets, like we can have for swatches, brushes, or graphics styles... but it’s a way to achieve it.

Also, you can use Paragraph Styles and Character Styles panels — they will store all the parameters a text object can have, not only font, but also its color, its size, etc. This is almost exactly the thing you want, minus thumbnails other panels have.

Please reply if these methods work for you, and what else these miss specifically you want to have.

Sure, makes total sense. As I read it, you want to be able to lock certain colors and/or pick them manually in the image, to make sure these stay in the final trace, instead of relying on the way Ai handles it?

Daan, not sure I understand. Do you want to be able to ignore more than one color, to set several colors as transparent, or do you need to limit the final count of colors to 4? or something else? Please elaborate.

Jim, please share the files with the team: the original DXFs, the .ai generated by 2024 Ai build and the one produced by the 2026 version, along with the screenshot of settings used.
You can attach these into a comment (if it works) or send directly to the team via sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case please mention the report’s link, https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51297973)

Those reports you linked look similar, yes...
But one was about the blur radius change due to the optimization made, and another about spot/process difference. The circle with the Gaussian Blur inside of your opacity mask is filled with a spot color. Converting it from spot to process indeed changes the way the mask looks (but I had to make the tint more prominent to spot the difference easier). Is this what you are noticing too?

Still can’t make it misbehave — not in the Overprint Preview mode you have enabled, not without it.
Actually I don’t see much of a difference in your screenshots as well... I’m afraid I just don’t get it, sorry! Please try to record a video — it would help a lot.

Either I still don’t follow, or I just don’t see any difference... both in CPU and GPU Preview modes, on Windows 10, the latest GA build 30.2.1.
There is no difference in the way the black rectangle with the gradient and the mask looks for me, when moved freely or using Properties / Control / Transform panels (as long as these copies stay over the red background and don’t cover each other).
Does it differ between these two for you? If yes — what is your GPU (and all other specs, hardware and OS ones)?
Can you record a video maybe?

The commands in Attributes panel are for compound paths only, originally to regulate the filling in Non-Zero Winding Fill rule (and since it’s a specific control set, it probably won’t be generalized).
If you want to reverse a direction of a path in general — use a dedicated Object > Path > Reverse Path Direction command instead.

According to the Ai team, the Home Screen team has restored support for file search in the File > Open > Open Cloud Document dialog, but it is not yet available for the production/release build. The both are working together to make it available as soon as possible.

I see, I don’t see it also there.
There’s a magnifier Search icon at the very top of the home screen, and it seems like it works the same way. One more click though...

At least tell the names of the fonts used within the PDF files you try to import...
You can view this in Acrobat, using File > Properties dialog, in Fonts section. Also, you can share these files with the team privately, sending them over via ShareWithAi@adobe.com (in this case mention the link to this report, so they can track it here, https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51319939)
Also please tell the full specs of your computer, as well as the current Ai build number and the source of the original file you try to import.
