An error occurred while saving the comment Joel, I assume the actual edges of the non-selected object do not get rendered, and only the bounding box hugs it? Or there is no object at all that the bounding box hugs actually, and it’s just void (checked with Outline mode)?
When and if it happens the next time, please also check these:
1. Is the 'selected' object marked in any way in Layers panel?
2. Does resizing or rotating the bounding box affects the object? Does Undo help to drop the 'selection'?
3. How did you exit the isolation mode (Escape, breadcrumbs, double-click), and how deeply grouped is the object? An error occurred while saving the comment Skyla, it’d help immensely if you were able to find exact steps to reproduce it with the art you have. And please keep the fil, in case it never happens again.
An error occurred while saving the comment Regina, so far I can’t reproduce the issue. How permanent this behavior is for you?
Can you share the file that always work like this for you? Make sure that you have only the part that causes the problem. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, seeing it, thanks. Maps and schemes, got it, very familiar to me. And I’m aware of the baseline shift trick, and the fact it needs some tracking compensation with high shift values or just for curves, as you said.
Astute Graphics, BTW, has a nice tool to quickly rotate a dragged object at a collision with a path, using its tangent. Works for curves as well, but the text is kept straight. Allows to set a spacing. Great for quickly signing straight lines — look at the GIF attached. Too late, I know :)
They Reform Text is a nifty solution too. although I’d love to have some additional features for it.And perhaps if you sign stuff a lot, you’d love to upvote these requests as well?
1. Convert a Type on Path object to a Point Type text and a normal Path (Detach / Release Text from Path) — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42886527
2. Allow to combine/merge selected text and path to Type on Path — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44049999An error occurred while saving the comment Mike, whatever suits you and your workflows best. There are so many things people use Illustrator for...
I use all of these regularly, and the way native Offset Path works with open paths serves me as much as the AG one.
Can you please share some of the cases you need this option for? Just curious. I record small GIFs with LICEcap app (works great on both Mac and Windows): https://www.cockos.com/licecap/An error occurred while saving the comment Agree with having it form the box, upvoted...
...but you should try to learn what other thing Astute Graphics plugin offer. You a sitting in shop full of amazing tools and use only one hammer of it. A waste indeed :)Plus you should take a look at the Toolshed plugin: https://rj-graffix.com/product/toolshed/
It has a similar interactive tool, it’s cheaper, it’s one-time purchase. Perhaps it’d suit your needs better.
Again — Ai would indeed benefit form having a second effect. But it can benefit form all of these things other developers add. And, as you state, not all the users need all the things devs add...AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

The solution to this problem is to disable the dedicated 'Show handles when multiple anchors are selected' option in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.
Usually it is off by default and does not interfere.
However, when it’s enabled, Illustrator displays all handles for all selected art when Group Selection tool is used, and it can lead to accidental handle changes when moving the art.
If you have it disabled but still have problems — please comment back.
An error occurred while saving the comment @MPH, the 'Show handles when multiple anchors are selected' option is not new, I remember seeing it at least since CS4... and it is never enabled by default, unless a user toggles it themselves. Sadly the problem is still there...
AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Kevin, I know this bug, and I figured out the cause for this and the way to workaround it.
Please select only one anchor on any path, go to Control panel, and enable 'Hide handles for multiple selected anchor points'.
This effectively stops Ai from occasionally showing handles and allowing Selection and Direct Selection tools to grab them. The team is now aware of the issue, was able to reproduce it and is going to fix it. I don’t have any estimations on the time it can take though.
Thanks for the heads up!

An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, Wes, I remember your request about Graphic Find & Replace: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/34659661 — so sad it has so little votes. The plugin helps, but it’s not for everyone.
As for the wildcard search — I think it deserves to be a request on its own!
An error occurred while saving the comment What do you like from it specifically? Why do you think it’s better? Please elaborate.

While there is still no way to completely disable the Smooth panel when the Smooth tool is picked, the bar now remembers its position and better picks the initial location.
Please comment on this behavior and upvote if you think there still should be an option to not show it.
An error occurred while saving the comment Jeremy, only slightly. There is still no option to completely hide it, but indeed the position is now getting remembered.
But it’s the same as in the latest general releases 29.1...AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for making a report about it, Marc, I was waiting for one!
Also mentioned here at forums:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/smooth-tool-popup-right-in-the-middle-of-the-page-whenever-toggled/m-p/14757332While the slider is actually helpful and doesn’t really alter the process, it’s always-in-center positioning and inability to turn it off makes is quite irritating. I think It should remember the position if moved away manually, and pop below the selected object initially (like CTB should as well).
The team is already made known about it and is reviewing the UX.

An error occurred while saving the comment The team forgot to assign accessibility keys for many menu commands, recently added: Intertwine, Objects on Path, Mockup, Artboards, Graph, Collect for Export, Rotate View, Retype, Bullets and Numbering, Spelling, Edit Colors...
These are important and should be assigned to EACH command.
The Window menu lacks them the most.An error occurred while saving the comment On Windows, we can hit Alt and see underscores for each command in every menu.
For some reason the team stopped caring about these for a while, and recent addition are all missing these: Intertwine, Repeat, Collect for Export, Spelling, My Settings (which is a flop and doesn’t really work)...
Some older ones too: Image Trace, Filters, Edit Colors...
We need these for every command.

An error occurred while saving the comment Milo, I see you have a group, and it has a gradient applied, and it lies on top of something. Then you select it all together and do something. You say 'clipping mask', but I suppose you meant 'opacity mask', which is a different thing.
Notice what happens with your document’s tab text when you start editing the gradient. Open Layers panel. Open Transparency panel. All these should show you clearly that you toggle the mode and are now editing the opacity mask, not the objects in the 'normal' space. You have to exit the mask first to be able to work with other objects on canvas — using Transparency panel.
Does it make any sense? Please comment back.
Justin, does Photoshop or InDesign or other Adobe apps you have access to behave the same? What about non-Adobe apps?
