An error occurred while saving the comment AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Shift + Arrow does ×10 nudge, leave it as it is.
Alt + Arrow is reserved for 'nudge with a copy', don’t touch it (and it takes away Alt completely)
So we have Ctrl+Arrow and Ctrl+Shift+Arrow left: first one is ideal to have 1/10 of the increment value, and the second could be even 1/100. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Ted, there is a dedicated request about making a selection in Layers to be equal to a selection on canvas: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45338959-select-items-in-layers-in-sync-with-objects-on-can
Please note that making this simplification leads to breaking some workflows.Naming procedures should be upgraded without any doubt.
So far we have some powerful scripts to the rescue. Check this specifically: https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Item.md#renameitemsOperations with hidden layers. Which operations exactly?
Also, please try to post on request at a time, each one in a separate entry. UserVoice does not allow to split entries easily.
As for list numbers — look fine to me, 1-2-3 :) -

An error occurred while saving the comment Because Separations Preview is a more narrow panel, only useful for those who print illustrations and cares about prepress in general, while the Color panel is a more general one. It’d be a lot of confusion caused by this change.
Better explain why do you want this change to happen? What problems are you going to solve with this change? What workflows are you going to streamline with having these as one panel?

An error occurred while saving the comment As per the comment by Susan Krupkowski in a comment in this bug report: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/36689818
Quoted:
Need to fix the bug whereas the Info panel no longer shows correct values for graph elements (selected with the Group Select tool). Instead, values are W: -2730p6 H: -2730p6.
I tried to submit this as a bug, but the "magic link" for login doesn't work when you're behind a firewall.
The bug, as I wish to report it:
[Illustrator 25.0, Windows 10 Enterprise]
When using the Group Select tool to select an element within a graph, the Info panel shows nonsensical values (e.g. W: -2730p6 H: -2730p6 ). Since the Transform panel has never shown no values for graph elements (grayed out, 0 and 0), we relied on the Info panel to check the size of graph elements.
We use Illustrator exclusively for graphs, and this bug makes it impossible to follow our sizing standards.
This is an ongoing bug, every graph, every element of it, all the time.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Zach, is this still a problem for you?
An error occurred while saving the comment Can't confirm on Windows, 24.2.1.
All three, Scale, Free Transform, bounding box, work fine for me (as intended). -

An error occurred while saving the comment This is actually intended, although I agree it looks slightly off.
Same leading scheme is now used in Select > Same menu.

An error occurred while saving the comment A bit exaggerated, but it usually looks like this.
An error occurred while saving the comment Exactly! It happens a lot for me — I try to open the panel, but accidentaly tear it off instead. Opening and closing a panel is a more common operation than rearranging, so the priority is clear here.

Illustrator app cant save anything when disks are full. Please try to free some space and try again.
An error occurred while saving the comment Ashley, your disks are full. You don’t have enough disk space to perform this operation — it is written in quite plain English just above the error message. This is not a bug, it’s just you don’t apps enough room to work with. Please try to free some space and try again.

An error occurred while saving the comment It is just strange the team thought that having ‘equalise handles’ is more important than having the ability to constrain.
When a new point is drawn, it has equalised handles anyway.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment As for the 'shrink the current artboard to the size of the selected art' — it can be done now, with Object > Artboards > Fit to Selected Art.
And there is also Fit to Artwork Bounds, in case you want it to fit to everything at once without selecting it first.
So I don't think it’s that large of a workaround, to call for this with a hotkey (I use the first one quite often)... -

An error occurred while saving the comment Indeed, it does.
If you locate the ImageTracing.jsx (should be somewhere here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2023\Presets\en_GB\Scripts\ImageTracing.jsx) and open it in a text editor, in the line 36 you will find this:
var COLLECTABLE_EXTENSIONS = ["bmp", "gif", "giff", "jpeg", "jpg", "pct", "pic", "psd", "png", "tif", "tiff"];So the script is written in a way it's case-sensitive.
You can modify the script (the easiest way is to include upper-case variants for all the extensions) and backup it, since it’d be replaced each time Ai updates. As for the permanent fix to this — I’ll try to let the team know.
Thanks! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks, this makes more sense.
Indeed, not handy at all when you can’t see how a gradient flows for a text.An error occurred while saving the comment Ashfaque, the text does not vanish for me when I drag over it, but gets filled with the layer’s color (like blue for the first layer), whether the edges or smart guides are enabled... This does prevent seeing how a gradient is applied to a text with a Real-time preview on.
The video you mentioned did not get attached it seems.
Does it still disappears for you?
AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I can confirm the second problem. Even with the Smart Guides turned off, Ai still draws the overlay for the text, similar to one you get when hover over the text with a Selection tool and Smart guides on — a solid fill of text’s layer’s color.

An error occurred while saving the comment And the same happens for assets and documents’ numbers:

https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/39646624An error occurred while saving the comment Also, a sorting not just by X, Y will be needed, but there must be some condition, if artboards are arranged as a grid. Which sequence to read for sorting: from left to right and to the next row, or from top to bottom and to the next column. Plus if two artboards are on top of each other and other non-obvious cases.

An error occurred while saving the comment This is annoying, true.
Here is a related request about artboards’ numbering, they have the same exact problem:

Definitely works on Windows, have just checked. -

@Stéphanie, no, on Windows you have to create a virtual desktop first with Ctrl+Win+D, and to use Ctrl+Win+arrows to switch between these. Windows use the Win key for almost all OS-related shenanigans.
But sure it’s a valid observation. These can be altered, of course, in Mac’s Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Mission Control... but I assume Mac’s keys are more important for Macs’ users.
Anyway, these nudge keys should be customizable too.
