An error occurred while saving the comment Steve, on the contrary I find your way is more complicated than existing request, which s quite fine (and already released as part of amazing VectorScribe plugin).
This gives more problems than solve — when exactly your marching points should stop? Will they stop at next existing point or move on? What will happen with distance you set when 'march' will cross next point — will it ignore it, or delete it, or start again from it? Which direction this march would head? How AI will know, which point do you intend as starting? How easy it would be to learn for a new users?Your way looks like a task for a script. What a beautiful script it could be!
But NOT a standard feature.
I wish I could write one. When I need to perform the same task, I use Roughen or Zig-Zag effect. You can always set 0 size after tweaking to have just points with no actual distorting.

An error occurred while saving the comment Aran, if you want to change layer opacity in AI, open layers panel, click target circle (right to the layer name) and then change opacity via Transparency palette.
If you already know that — sorry for being rude.
If you didn't — have you ever tried searching 'change layer opacity illustrator'?Illustrator is not Photoshop.
They share a lot, but very many things are different and always would be different, because 'it has been like that' paradigm. For example, 'Snap to grid' is Ctrl+Shift+" in AI, but Ctrl+Shift+; in PS (in fact, it's just a half true, because PS doesn't allow to quickly turn on snapping only to grid).
Don't be fooled by seemingly similar UI.What I think Adobe should really do, reading this, is to:
1. Make a shortcut for 'Target Current Layer' command, which is not there now (or even 'Target Selected', which will target current layer, if nothing is selected)
2. Add 'Target Layer' button to Transparency palette, when nothing is selected, in the empty area, where selected artwork thumb is usually displayed
These will give users ability to quickly target layer and set it's opacity, both mouse and keyboard oriented.I'll make a separate request for this.
Good luck on your path and stay calm.

There is File > Export Selection command in Illustrator now, that adds a selection as an asset into Asset Export panel and opens Export for Screens dialog immediately.
An error occurred while saving the comment I don't understand.
Why don't you select what you want to export, then Select > Inverse (I even set Ctrl+Shift+I shortcut for consistency with Photoshop) and then hide everything you don't need? Why copy/pasting to new file?
Please explain more.
As for the feature — it's still nice, but not crucial. -

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Adobe. Make It an Experience. An error occurred while saving the comment I work on grid.
I want to rearrange my artboards manually and keep my art perfectly aligned. I select multiple artboards, make sure snap to grid is turned on (and move/copy artwork button is pressed, but it's irrelevant), and drag these selected artboards to new position — they don't snap.Everything MUST snap to grid when it's on

An error occurred while saving the comment It does it already. Can you show a screenshot of it? This could be a bug or just custom file type selected in your Save window.

There are options for image tracing in AI. Extended panel gives you an ability to select Strokes instead of Fills. Tweaking these can help you with that. Please comment back if you think these should be refined.

You can adjust spacing between a selection of characters with a hotkey Cmd/Ctrl + Opt/Alt + K (which focuses the input) and then Arrow keys.

An error occurred while saving the comment Why using Action for this is not good?
I'm agree that everything must be shortcutable, but this particular example is suited for an action, not a keyboard shortcut, because it sets custom value.
So, why action is not working for you? -

An error occurred while saving the comment x-height and Cap-height topic again.
Search for Wolfgang's Reszel scripts (Cap Height) and see if it can help you. I've also modified a copy of it for x-height editing too. -
5 votesYou can enable Paste Remembers Layers in the panel’s menu to make Illustrator remember layers your objects were copied from and insert them on layers with same name when pasted. If these layers don’t exist, Illustrator will create them. Be careful and disable it when not needed, if might make a mess when not needed. Also note that with this option enable everything copied from an isolation mode creates a separate 'Isolation mode' layer, which is stupid — vote here if you think this should be addressed: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/37935496-paste-remembers-layers-bug-with-isolation-mode

Does it work for you in this way or not? -

Just click a circle marker next to Layer name in Layers panel to target the whole layer and apply your shadow (or other effects) — it would get applied to it.

Strange.
In Russia we also use comma, but both comma and period are recognized fine.
It might be something about you language settings in OS, I had similar problem long ago.
