Artboard selection bugs in Illustrator CC 2018
There are a number of bugs related to Illustrator CC 2018 losing artboard selection (no highlight in the artboard list in the artboard panel), and losing sync between actual artboard selection and displayed (highlighted) selection. These include:
When copying an artboard by dragging and dropping it onto the New Artboard icon in the Artboard panel, and then dragging that new artboard to a new position in the artboard list, the selection is displayed on the new artboard in its new location, but in fact, the original artboard is still selected. Double-clicking on the new artboard does NOT move selection to it, and does not cause it to 'fit to screen'.
Once you are in this situation, clicking within any artboard in the main work area does not cause that artboard to become selected, and does not move the highlight in the artboard list. Clicking the artboard navigation arrows on the lower left DOES cause the highlight to reappear and accurately show the selected artboard; however, having to click 'forward ' and then 'back' after each artboard drag and drop just to get artboard highlights in the list to work is ridiculous.
I use Illustrator professionally for UX design. My workflow is most often to create a screen, and then copy it and modify the copy to show the next step in the user's workflow. The 2018 upgrade is pretty much unusable because of these bugs. I just reinstalled Illustrator CC 2017 so I can continue to work.

commentedWhat about changing sizes of the artboard? I'm working on a file and I need to change the width of the artboard, but every time I attempt to do so, the size reverts to the original. How do I fix this problem?

commentedHow do I get just the two artboards that I use when I create a new document? Every time I create a new file, I have to search for one of the two artboard sizes I use now. I'm sick of updates that make my life more difficult. I used to praise Illustrator, now it's just becoming a headache.

commentedResponse to that last anonymous comment - that happens to me a lot, but you’re lucky that is an easy issue to fix: make sure you select the art board you’re copying it from before copying it. Selecting an object on a board doesn’t automatically select that board. Same thing goes to pasting it, after copying and making sure the correct board is selected, make sure the board you want to paste to is also selected.

commentedHaving problem also with pasting artwork from one artboard to another. It just pastes right back to board I am coping from. It is getting very frustrating. Sometimes it works, but mostly this is not the case. I also have the most updated version of Illustrator.

commentedWhy don't you guys KEEP the things that work instead of screwing around with the program to add bells and whistles that complicate the program? I'd still pay my CC subscription!!!! I don't need a bunch of new problem every year!!!!

commentedNew Artboards are sticking to existing artboards. When I try to manually re-arrange them, objects from the adjoining board are moved too. There is no option for placing an artboard where you want it, that I can see.

 commentedHi!
I also still face this issue. The missing artboard selection highlight is really getting annoying. Working on 22.1

commentedIt still isn't working for me either. I hope it is just a bug and not a new feature... it would be really nice to get these artboards to cooperate.

commentedWith the latest update, I am having a number of issues in Illustrator.
 1. Cannot create new artboards as it freezes the program. E V E R Y T I M E ! !
 2. Duplicate Artboard function takes the content from the artboard I'm duplicating and MOVES it to the duplicated artboard. So essentially, the artboard is duplicated but is REMOVED from the originating artboard. WHAAAT??
 3. The most irritating issue is when I'm moving from artboard to artboard, the artboard list does NOT highlight which artboard I am on. I am left thoroughly confused. And I work with more than a dozen artboards at a time... :'(
 4. Selecting an artboard from the list doesn't immediately take me to that artboard. Many times it doesn't work. Other times when it does work, it takes extra long. Super inconsistent!
PLEASE ADOBE... PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES!!
