An error occurred while saving the comment Well, actually, Illustrator has most of this.
Automatic Save feature is available for cloud documents, and local documents are backed up every once in a while. You ca set settings for these in 'Preferences > File Handling' section.
Also cloud documents support versioning — try Window > Version History'Collect All and Save' is known as File > Package, and is older than Ableton, if I remember correctly :)
Please respond back after you try these and tell more how do they work for you (if they do at all)

An error occurred while saving the comment How large is your artboard?
If you are using 'large canvas' (if you can create objects larger than 5779,558 mm / 227,5417 in) — then it might be because of this.
Please confirm.

Seems to be fixed in recent version of Illustrator.
Clicking a caption of a filed in Properties (if the caption exists for a value) does select the whole value, like it does in other panels.
Please verify and reply back.

An error occurred while saving the comment A fellow designer shared an approved design with me, to adapt it to other formats, and packages all fonts, including Almost SVG Cyrillic.
When I opened the document, she happened to be near me and wondered why the font used in it it brighter that she remembered.
We figured out that she has CC2015 19.2.1, and the font gets displayed just as black (that she found suiting the design). I use the latest released version as a main toll, and I get textured letters.
The problem is:
1. More complex part. I can’t find a way to apply a black fill over the live characters, even using nested appearance and Outline Object effect (which effectively allows to trace, roughly, a transparent image)
2. More basic part. I can’t find a way to outline these at all — while she can. Some characters in the font give transparent images after expanding, but most result in bluish multi-ink images.
So I had to grab an outlined version of the text from older Ai and use it instead of live text.

It woks in Ai already. You have to hold Opt/Alt and click the lock icon next to the layer’s name. First click will unlock any other layers first, but second will lock all other layers but the one clicked.
Does it solve the problem?
Same works with Toggle Visibility column.
Photoshop does it a bit differently and skips the Show / Unlock All step.
An error occurred while saving the comment What about Alt+click on the lock (or visibility) icon, as said below? Works for me.

The team has started to work on this feature. If you have some things to share about it — it’s time to post a comment. The more info we get provided in time, the better the chance to have it tailored to our needs!

An error occurred while saving the comment I never use right-click menu, and I really wish to.
I think it should be customizable and have real CONTEXT commands at it by default.

@enisio We are able to reproduce this issue with the steps you provided. Thanks for not letting this go

An error occurred while saving the comment Enisio, wow.
That’s what I'm calling an investigation!
Finally we are able to catch this (at least partially, because I can’t make these previously merged swatches to appear in another document, as happens sometimes for me).
Anyway, I am able to reproduce this.
Thank you!An error occurred while saving the comment After you saying it might relate to old files, I feel like I am remembering something like this once or twice...
I am not insisting on sharing one of these files here, but I encourage you to send one to sharewithai@adobe.com, once you locate which and if one has it consistently — with the clear steps of how the team can reproduce it.
And thank you for reporting it.An error occurred while saving the comment Wow, interesting.
It feels like some of your objects have a complex appearance that have this red spot applied to, underneath the black... but why then Ai sees it as unused... Can you share the file? -

An error occurred while saving the comment If you still have the file, please send it to sharewithai@adobe.com, and provide your GPU specs.
Meanwhile disable GPU rendering to workaround this.

An error occurred while saving the comment There was a discussion about this at https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/hairline-outlines-in-illustrator/m-p/3985404
Some even claim that 'PostScript doesn't define hairlines'Use 0.001 pt/px instead.
Ai renders is as a hairline (minimal width at every zoom level).
And CorelDraw (if you prepare files to be converted to .cdr) should treat these as hairlines. -

It seems to work in the latest Beta 29.5.0.15, the Curvature Tool now respects Smart Guides. The position quantization for new points is still there, and these two snaps seem to fight, but it is usable finally. Please test it and provide some feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment Which spot exactly do you propose to be pressed in these tear-off tool panels to display large associated panels?
It does work for me, but the theme is too broad to be sure...
You mean with the key object? or not? with all subobjects selected or not? too many options.
Jan, can you please record a short video of you trying?
Use Sharex to record one (if you are on Windows), or LICEcap / GIFCam to record a GIF.
