Spell Check CRASHES this Beta. It does crash much quicker than the Intel version does.

Talked to Support. They say ALL files need to be saved to a Local Hard Drive before coping them to any network or removable drive. Gave me a nice like to that policy.

WHAT ABOUT to Adobe's Creative CLOUD. ?

Want to search for Paragraph Returns, ^p, but Illustrator only has a Forced Line break, ^n available. You can copy the invisible paragraph return and paste it into the fields, but .. it's INVISIBLE and hard to see. Having Illustrator actually search for a ^p, paragraph return would be very helpful now that Illustrator's behavior with triple clicking text now ignores a forced line break.

If you try to thread text from small text boxes, the icon to click can overlay on a side anchor point.

Adobe says they made a purposeful change to Illustrator's Text Selection features. What do you think? Feature change or a unintended bug/change?

I suspect most users never use a forced line break, or know much about it.
So this illogical change in text selection to skip over selection just a line and jumps to a whole paragraph will never be seen. Doubt there was a user Feature request to change this also.

Illustrator 2018 changed how text is selected with triple clicks and using UP/Down Arrows.

    A simple return/enter is a ^p, paragraph return.
    A Shift-Return is a ^n, forced line break.
^n, ^p are commonly used to search for hidden formatting characters, like ^t for a tab.

One click is a Point, Two Clicks is a Word, Three clicks was Sentence.
Been that way since Illustrator 1.
Other programs have four and five click features to expand text selection from just a line to a paragraph or story. (inDesign/Quark/Word)

Now Three click, ignores forced line breaks, and selects text from Paragraph Return to Paragraph Return.

Note that Illustrator's search/replace feature only sees a forced line break, which is now ignored when selecting text. Just a hint that this change was not intentional to skip over a natural progression of selecting text.

Down Arrow text selection has changed also,

Just a down arrow goes to the same point in the line below.

Command Down arrow use to select text to the end of the line, ^p or ^n.
Now, Command Down ignores any ^n, forced line breaks and goes to the next ^p, paragraph return, not the end of the line.

    Why the fuss?
Searching to replace tabs from long lists to change them to line breaks. Illustrator's Search/Replace function sees and has a short cut for a ^n Forced Line Break. It does not understand ^p as a Paragraph Return, nor has a shortcut to that formatting charter.

You Can "copy" the hidden paragraph return, and paste it in the field. It shows as a blank.

Does anyone know a better way to SHAME Adobe into getting this fixed?
Clearly this forum does not get read by anyone at Adobe who can do anything.

A bug that has been know for OVER a month.
A graphic art program who would like to promote themselves as the PREMIER program for drawing.
And a basic function as Align Objects is FLAWED.

    Shame on Adobe!

I look for updates a couple times a day hoping that a month has been long enough for a Quality minded responsible company would resolve such a basic FLAW in a MAJOR update.

Chatted friday with Adobe Tech, and they easily reproduced this BUG. Now the question is how badly does Adobe feel this needs to be fixed. For me, I'm back to 2017 as I use this constantly to keep elements on a page aligned. Verify alignment for art sent to me. etc. I can't trust this with 2018 and it will cost me money.

If I knew WHY it kept doing it, it would be helpful.. Just seems like how you select items pushed the align to.. to different things. Really frustrating to not be able to rely on something as simple as an Align Tool being consistent.
