The latest Illustrator build (v29.2) now offers a way to see the distances between a selected object and an object hovered over / edges of an artboard.
- Click on the object you want to measure the distance from
- Press Opt/Alt and hover over the object that you want to measure distance to
- You can also hover over empty area to see the distance from the selected object and the artboard boundaries
Please try it and come back with the feedback.

As mentioned before, this got shipped into the main (GA) build, but the development is not completed. The team has been gathering all the user feedback and intends to address it.
Here are several relevant entries you can upvote.
Bug reports:
- Spots and Globals are converted into process colors when included into Swatch Info
- Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected
- Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color
- The default text color in Swatches Info is rich RGB black when used in a CMYK document
- Tabs in Swatch Info text are made with spaces instead of actual tabs
- Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)

This can be done with Transform panel’s flyout menu — disable 'Use Registration Point for Symbol' option.

is there any comment or update here?
I've used FantasticFold today, and this feature to generate some embossing to add in Dimension would be great without using PS

Hi,
I'm trying the new beta version.
It looks like the repeat Mirror is still cliping the illustration to the axis symetry, and crop all is going through.
It would be useful to have the possibility to deactivate the clipping path, in order to allow the illustration going over the symetry, like it is the case for repeat rotation. An error occurred while saving the comment

For any reason it's not possible to snap the symmetry axis to any point of the path...
Another important point is the possibility to keep the Origin of the File.
Even if the option center the dxf is not set, the original Corrdinate system of the Imported file is not kept.
It could be an issue in some collaborative workflows.
