Feels odd seeing the overflow menu at the bottom, where it almost looks like it's part of the panel above it. Also, by placing it at the top of each panel, this could have space.1 vote
When selecting an object, it's extremely hard to find the layer. Can the layer be auto selected/highlighted when selecting an object?3 votes
When one or more objects of a Layer are selected, the Layer gets highlighted and also indicates a selection. To locate the object in the Layer panel – see if this works. Select the object, click on the Layer panel flyout menu and pick ‘Locate Object’.
Now that the properties has been finally set in the right panel, I love it! This allows me to have the layers set in the left panel. Next step, It would be nice to have the ability to set the tool bar above or below horizontally.4 votes
I am new to CC 2017 however I am getting a very annoying error message each time I open the CC up.
The heading is: Assertion Failed!
I have attached a screen grab for your attention.
Look forward to hearing from you!2 votes
Every time you guys change something on these programs it seems to effect me. Most of the time it is not in a good way. I believe this could be solved by allowing the user more options in preferences to turn on and off these options. For instance. You changed the way the the zoom in and zoom out works. It used to be it would just zoom out directly from where you are but now it zooms out from the object selected which is very annoying. I'm sure that works for some people but if it was a preference option they you could set it to your liking. I just downloaded the new version yesterday and right off the bat i noticed the align tool does not stay on the align to artboard like it used to. I align constantly when i design and would like the option to change the align to option without it changing on its own to default align to selection. Personally i use all the options just would like it to stay on the last selection i made until i change it. This could also be resolved by allowing an option in preferences. I think you should make all options that are changed like these a preference option. That's my two cents.

Dedicted buttons for Undo /Delete /Redo. either at the top or on a floating toolbar. I'm sick of having to go to the keyboard or:
Edit > Undo
Edit > Clear
Edit > Redo
Sure I could use keyboard shortcuts- but I don't want to.
Virtually every other program has these buttons.
it cannot be hard to add them, even if only in that new properties panel.
You have to assume its bloody mindedness on Adobes part, continuing not have this basic feature and thinking everyone gets a thrill out of Command Z20 votes
Wouldn’t it be nice if Illustrator has similar contextual menu as Photoshop?
It would be much easier to e.g. duplicate a layer, using right-click, than via tiny-hard-to-point-at hamburger menu at the layer palette.
I have this problem, I don't know whether this is a bug, but I really need you to fix this or is there any solution for this.
Some how there's ripped effect on my artworks but when publish it looks fine, only during editing.
It would be nice if there was a preference to turn off what I've seen referred to as "hover scrolling" or when selected type or object is changed when the mouse rolls over a drop down menu. I was first going to report it as a bug, but apparently it's an actual feature.12 votes
Currently Illustrator will select an object if you click on its shadow. It's quite annoying wanting to select an object affected by another object's shadow, and ending up selecting the object casting the shadow instead.117 votes
I would like to see a toggle option for "Paste Remembers Layers" I switch frequently between having it on and off and it would be nice to have a visual cue - and toggle button - to facilitate easier working between modes.7 votes

Create a toggle-able feature like the one found in many CAD programs:
Select ONLY the objects ENTIRELY inside the selection window marquee via the following methods:
1. hold Shift+drag
2. Dragging left-to-right enables "select inside", dragging right-to-left enables "select touching" (as per most CAD programs)59 votes
I would love to see an option to enable a highlighted cursor marker on the ruler. To explain what I mean by cursor marker, I mean the small, light gray line that follows where your cursor is along the x and y ruler. This light gray line is very hard to distinguish its exact position against the background ruler markers, since there is literally no contrast between them. I would love to see an option to change it to any of the system swatches.1 vote
The Color Themes panel in Illustrator does not have a scroll bar. I am using a Wacom tablet, but the Color Themes panel does not scroll even when I have assigned the function "scroll" to its scroll bar. I can scroll in other applications, both Adobe and others, so it doesn't seem like the fault of the tablet or tablet driver. The fact that there is no scroll bar in the default UI so it can be used with any input device is a glaring oversight. The panel is nearly useless without one.1 vote
The current mouse wheel zoom (ALT + wheel) only navigates between zoom presets, making it incredibly difficult to use since the scale factor only doubles/halves most of the time. This is especially true when using touch mouse wheels (e.g., Microsoft surface mouse).
A setting that switches between this mode and a finer grain zoom (e.g., +/- 10% of current, possibly user-preference defined) would make this much more useful.17 votes
A simple calculator panel to basic math. This would be great in ALL Adobe products, in fact.5 votes
Standardize Illustrator interfaces, tool boxes, panels AND shortcuts like CMD-H with indesign, photoshop !
CMD-H should be HIDE ILLUSTRATOR -- it is so fricking annoying that this is not fixed yet. Really inefficient and time wasting that it is not. What is up w/ you guys -- especially the mac os x interfaces/panels/etc. Read up much on UX for macs? sheesh. this is a hateful (lack of) feature you have devised (or not employed). Ridiculous it is not fixed after all these versions since it once worked -- like the other adobe apps.6 votes
In CC2017 the element(s) highlighted do not remain “visually” highlighted, nor do the guides. I can highlight several thing — text, boxes, guide — and I want to be able to see what is highlighted and move them with my arrow keys. It’s very disconcerting to use the direct selection tool, click on something (highlight it) and when I ,move away from that item it no longer looks visually highlighted. When I am working on complex charts/graphs/figures I need to be able to see everything I highlighted/selected as I am moving or editing them.1 vote
I find myself diving into Preferences to toggle this setting on & off many, many times. I’d love to be able to toggle it with a keystroke.
Thank you.6 votes
