  1. Need to select all artboards and resize them at once by entering desired size.

    Need to select and change all artboard size at once. Can we have this feature in Illustrator? Because after design we need to prepare artworks from same file so we need to increase artboard sizes to add crop marks and other details of instructions for printer, It will be easier if we can change this in artboard window or from document setup.

  2. Ability to change resolution when setting pixels as a unit

    I use Illustrator for UX design, and thus I use pixels for the dimensions. However, the resolution of most modern screens, in mobile phones, and other devices, is not the default 72 ppi. Thus, when I switch between units, the pixel size does not equal what I get in millimeters. (For usability issues, e g mm based letter height is crucial.)

    I know Photoshop is more of a pixel oriented tool, but doing vector graphics and using Illustrator is an advantage in terribly many places. (There is a reason for Sketch being a popular replacement...) Adding a way to customize…

  3. Change shortcut for paste in place/paste on all artboards to match Indesign

    I'm in a workflow where I work simultaneously with Illustrator and Indesign, linking illustrator files to indesign (they could probably be integrated more!).

    However, it is probably my most irritated moments when I realize I have used cmd-alt-shift-V (shortcut to paste in place in Indesign) instead of cmd-shift-V. If you work on one artboard, it looks the same, and you don't realize your mistake until you go to another artboard and see that the pasted thing has been pasted on all artboards. And you've worked far enough to not having the possibility to undo...

  4. Deleting Artboard with a button next to its name

    Can you add back the little cross/close button (we used to have in CC2017) to the artboard so that I can delete the artboards without visiting the artboard pannal?

  5. Layer Comps

    Layer Comps like Photoshop but for Illustrator. If you do this, it should fix the problem of showing all the layers when I toggle the solo on and off. I love the solo but it would be nice if the solo remembered what layers were already off when I toggled the solo on. If this was try then when I toggle the solo off, the off layers should stay off.

  6. Recolor multiple layers panel layers at the same time

    In Photoshop, you can select multiple layers, and add a color marker at the same time to all of them. I often use the colors of layers in Illustrator for UI and packaging design to separate visually which layers are finished (green), and which ones I still need to work on (red). But I have to double click each layer one by one in order to change the color.

    Yep, there is a way to change the color of edges for a selection of layers — 'Options for Selection' command in the Layers panel’s flyout menu.

    But perhaps the original poster meant colored backgrounds to mark layers? Like Photoshop allows to and like we can do with actions in button mode?

    If yes — please make a separate request about this.

  7. Drag and drop artwork between documents in same place

    Photoshop allows to drag-n-drop artwork between documents in same place, when you hold Shift.
    In Illustrator, no matter what you hold, artwork would be dropped where cursor is pointed, with no respect to original X,Y coordinates.
    I desperately need this!

    Quite often I have to copy artwork, containing huge raster images, from one document to another. I need them to be placed in same place, snapped on grid, but AI just drops it. The only way to keep coordinates — is to copy/paste in front/place, which takes an EON to do with my big raster images.

  9. Ability to Copy&Pastle "Color Groups" in "Recolor artwork" to another document

    In one document I have create created some Color Groups for recolor my artwork. Now I want to copy them into another document.

    It's not possible to do currently. But it's so simple to implement!

  10. Could you please add similar artboard settings or features like Photoshop?

    I generally use Adobe illustrator for App design and find it annoying on how illustrator artboards are too close together. Could you guys add the artboard settings from Photoshop into to illustrator? I just like the spacing and the naming system defined by Photoshop. It allows for a nicer looking work space.

  11. Dragging layers between documents like Photoshop!

    I find it bizarre that you can't drag multiple layers between documents, like in Photoshop. I can only copy and paste in to a new document, which combines everything as one layer, which I then have to go through separating all the objects again. This is such a time sink!

  12. Rearrange only Selected artboards

    Currently I can only "Rearrange All Artboards".

    But I just selected only some artboards in my document and I want to rearrange only selected items. For example, increase spacing between them.

    The team has to revert back this functionality, based on the feedback provided here, starting with Beta 29.8.0.5

    No plans are announced yet on if the partial rearranging would become an option yet. Please watch this request if you need this still, upvote and comment.

  13. Show current artboard when using shortcuts to switch artboards

    It would be useful if when switching artboards with Fn+Shift+Up/Down that the Artboards window reflects the currently viewed artboard. The current workaround is having to guess which artboard I'm looking at by double clicking the artboard and checking to see if the canvas switches view.

  14. Artboard Resizing

    Would like to be able to resize the artboards in both directions with a preview.
    I'm sometimes having an issue where I can't resize the artboard in both directions x & y. Also now there is no preview for this operation like in previous versions.

  15. Position elements relative to artboards.

    Since several improvements to artboards are in the pipeline, I think It would be worth considering positioning elements relative to the top left corner of the artboard. I haven't found a good use for keyboard entry of x and y positions. Positioning elements relatively would make it relatively easy to maintain padding / grids across multiple artboards by entering an exact value.

  16. Artboard spacing only feature

    I often have my artboards grouped very specifically and they do not have an even number of artboards in each row. When I need to rearrange the space between all my artboards that becomes a huge hassle.
    I'm forced to choose a column number, which alters my arrangement of columns/rows.
    The ability to turn off the "column" preference and only alter the artboard "spacing" would be very helpful.

  17. Allow to see full name past artboard extent / Don't truncate artboards' captions

    The artboard name is restricted to the size of the artboard, which truncates the name and makes it illegible. Better logic would be to only shorten the name if it collides with another artboard name.

  18. Allow users to set direction for X and Y axes

    Several versions ago Adobe decided to flip Y-axis, so origin now is placed TOP-left instead of BOTTOM-left, as it was before.
    They say it was done for compatibility with Photoshop and InDesign, which both have y-axis going down.

    I think that breaking people's workflow, deciding only ONE direction is right, was wrong.

    InDesign is a publishing software, it works with a flow. I don't know anybody who reads from bottom to up (RTL — yes). When you move an object there, you don't move it up, you move it backwards

    Navigator doesn't move around and there are two "23" in Artboards. The number artboard 22 doesn't even appear

  20. Add ability to rebind artboard names to their numbers

    In my work I add and delete artboards during work.
    When artboard is created, it's given a name, corresponding it's number.
    When custom artboard is deleted, numbers of next artboards are shifted (it's OK), but names stay the same.

    So when job is done, I can have something like this:
    1. Artboard 6
    2. Artboard 8
    3. Artboard 9
    4. Artboard 10
    5. Artboard 12
    and so forth

    Since the last number is almost as noticeable as first one, it's hard to pick up correct ones for export.
