Change how lock and hide work
Сan you adjust how hiding layers vs locking layers works?
Lock should prevent edits of any kind.
Hide should allow edits if the master group or layer are adjusted.
Example: Character Animator makes us hide Illustrator layers for various poses, mouths, etc. All the mouths are in a head group. If I move a head group with hidden layers, those layers don't move with the group. They should move. They should just not be seen while doing it because they are not locked.
If hide works this way, can you explain the difference between lock and hide?

Comment finder
Sometimes a small markup from a client on a busy page is hard to find. I'd like to see a function that dims the entire document and highlights the markup when you click on a comment in the comment panel. And even better if the page could also zoom into the markup and put it center screen when you click on the comment in the comment panel.

Gen AI Assisted Live Trace
So far, Gen AI in illustrator is just a fresh coat of paint on live trace, a raster query and then just live trace.
Where it would help immensely, is if you could direct AI to clean up live trace results.
My use case is I'm doing a lofi photo trace, of a contrasted, shaded image, white over red. By default, the edges of the white area are noisy and Illustrator adds several shades for this area. What I'd like to be able to do is prompt AI to "simplify white edges" or "trace behind white areas", to enhance the…

Image overlay
It would be nice if there were options to create an image overlay and retain the image's saturation like in photoshop. The current methods I use desaturate the photos in my email and website headers.

Regarding the selection of E-mode
When using the group selection tool to select objects within a group, pressing "E" can select the objects, but in the "selection tool" state, pressing "ctrl+alt" switches to the "group selection tool", and pressing "E" cannot select objects within the group.

Add "Layer" to the application menu like File, Edit, Object... like Photoshop has.

Explanation: Reading through the menu items is much more intuitive when learning about the application capabilities in regards to many features. Going from Photoshop to Illustrator, there are many similarities however the unique separations of the features such as accessing and interacting with the layers is one of the main inhibitors during my orientation to using illustrator to the degree to which I use photoshop.

Reflect and Unite in one step, without extra points
Reflect a shape and Unite it to the original shape without having extraneous points - in one step. Having to close the shape, then carefully align it and then unite it only to see you have extra points in the middle where the shapes overlapped is a hassle. (use - making symmetrical, complex shapes like frames or road signs or something similar) Thank you!

Live preview missing in many tools
In these 2 tools:
— Create Object Mosaic
— Transform Effect
I see a live preview toggle is missing.If the development team can add it, then it will make them more intuitive and smooth.
The Transform effect has Preview only, however a A LIVE PREVIEW would be better and faster.

Seed generator for random options
Random in Illustrator is NOT random.
Depending on the values I will always get the same result. Add an seed generator. Best would be to add an option go type in the seed manually, that way I can choose if a want the same randomness or a random randomness.1 vote -

Ability to backup fonts from Adobe Fonts locally
Recommendations on where to download fonts that wont disappear? I have t-shirts I'm selling and cant find fonts I used so I have to change all the websites imp marketing on.
