  1. fsType not honored when exporting as PDF

    Hello,
    I've noticed the fsType value in the OS/2 table of OTF fonts is not honored by Indesign nor Illustrator.

    I've set the value of fsType to 0x0102 and this should prevent subsetting and embedding.
    However, Illustrator exports to pdf, embedding . Worst, it gives no warning the embedding/subsetting isn't allowed for the current font.

    for info, I had flushed any font cache to be sure the font files are the good ones and deleted them from my disk before reopening my pdf to be sure they're embedded.

  2. Please Make a way to Undo Effects

    It would help a lot if there was a way to reverse effects without using the undo button. I find myself many times regretting an effect I used and not being able to undo it because I saved and closed the file already.

  4. Transform options with clickable arrows all the time

    Is there a way to always have the transform options like this (see "Transform with arrows.png" attachment) with clickable up and down arrows? The feature disappears unless you are grouping one or more objects (see "Transform no arrows.png" attachment).

    It’s not about arrows. It’s because for some object Distribute commands are displayed and they takes the space Transform controls would take instead. What you can do is to press Control panel menu (rightmost button with three stripes) and untick Align and/or Distribute controls to make sure that Transform will always visible. Also, for now this is the only way, Illustrator doesn’t allow to change the order of controls for Control panel :(

  5. Asset Export - Make Collection of File Settings

    When using the Asset Export feature – it would be nice to have collections of different formats and sizing. For a number of projects there are repeatable file formats that are needed.

    Allow the user to define these collections (not unlike creating and setting workspaces).

    One might need a collection that has only SVG and PDF, another collection could only be PNG (1x, 2x and 4x). And yet another might need SVG, JPG and PNG, there are so many different ways to work and exports that people need.

  6. Knife tool with Bezier curves like Pen tool

    I like the idea of the Knife tool and I try to use it. It is worthless because it has no control... If it used Bezier curves or like the Photoshop's Polygon tool that would be awesome.

  7. Chart enhancement request

    Most of the time I work on creating charts, sometimes which will be recurring charts. So my request is if we can embed spreadsheet just like in Indesign for tables, it would save time and also if we have option to add values on top of column chart and at the same time controlling alignment would be much helpful.

    Adding Pages/Sheets like in Excel for better organization of large jobs. I work at a sign company and frequently come across large jobs that I would like to keep organized.

    For example let's use a job I am on right now. It is a job for hospital signage. Over 500 signs in total and let's say 15 departments. Some departments have upto 20 signs. While artboards work well in this instance it would be nice if I could have the option to organize the departments with "sheets" instead of individual files.   9. Add generic "sans-serif" font family option for text

    SVG is the accepted vector graphic format for the web. We need a way to be able to specify platform-independent fonts for environments such as the web where there are no specific fonts that are universaly available. SVG does this with the font-family style property:

    The Inkscape vector graphics editor offers a font-selector where you can choose either a specific font or a generic font-family like "serif", "sans-serif", "monospace", etc. The request is for Illustrator to offer a similar feature.

  10. cancel all button while opening multiple files

    when selecting a list of files for copy or move in explorer or finder, an accidental doubleclick will cause AI to open all files ....
    At present, one has to try and cancel every single open. Every now and then, AI quits in that situation or has to be killed

  12. Can you provide extra steps in UI Scaling, please? For my dual screen config., it would be ideal if there was at least one step between.

    As above. 2 steps between each existing would be ideal. It's only a little thing, but I use the middle setting at the moment, the Tools Pallet starts in 2 columns and I have to click it to 1 each time - the bottom bit gets trimmed off but that doesn't matter. If I set UI Scaling to the smallest size, then the Tools Pallet remains as I have set it on my workspace, but way too small.

  13. NEW issue re: knocking out text.

    I've recently run into issues with knocking out text that I've never run into before. Certain letters aren't knocking out completely. Please see the attached and notice how the tops of the letter "T" on the left side of the box aren't completely cut out.

  14. Distortions for Decurving warped art

    You know what I would like Illustrator to have? A way to plugin our actual grid warp information like a wonderful plugin from a few decades ago, called "CurveIt" that was from PCC Packflow (which was acquired by Artwork Systems, which is now "Esko"). It allowed us to plug in a negative value to de-curve using these fields. This would be very helpful for the packaging world where we have to decurve artwork back into a straightened format for redesigning.

    You can improve Illustrator by making the selection tool workable. As long as I use the rules in the document the selection starts to run very bad.

  16. Adobe Libraries — Point/Direct to the ACTUAL original file to edit

    The more I use libraries, the more I like it! However, instead of creating a "virtual" library of duplicated files, maybe store/use the ACTUAL original file so as to reduce loads of duplicated files, confusion as to the "latest" version(s) created and a crazy file naming system.

    Right now this is what it does:
    Actual Original File: SSRLogoRGB.ai
    Clicking on "Edit Original" in any Adobe program: SSRLogoRGB_cf14017d-6564-4298-9f8f-d800bd2b4a91.ai

  17. A 3D presentation of layers and of artboards would deconstruct the fusion of all those into one 2D screen. Gaming software does iit.

    A 3D presentation of various containers (artboards, layers, groups) would show the composition of the various containers into what is currently a 2D screen. Gaming software does it.

  18. Option for object size to take priority over corner radius

    When resizing an object, corner radius should be automatically reduced to accommodate the new size rather than blocking the change until you manually reduce the corner radius

  19. Paint mode like in Adobe Animate / Flash for Illustrator

    1. I used to work with Adobe Flash (now Animate) for years and loved how the vector tools work there. I would like to have exactly this "drawing mode" in Illustrator! I know there is already something quite close to it, but it still doesn't have the same features and you have to remove overlapping areas and so on .
    2. I think having the "quick n dirty" design tools like the flash/animate brush AND the sophisticated tools already available in illustrator in the same product, that would boost productivity!

  20. Illustrator to Mobile

    Mobile - We need a way to be able to open ai.files (or different formats from illustrator) and edit them in a mobile app.

    e.g.: Right now I will need to change the background of a design everyday. In Illustrator it's easy, all I need to do is change background color export and voila.

    However, if I can't find a solution to edit the background layer (or rectangle on top of it) on mobile. . . Adobe draw doesn't allow me to open ai.files or edit layer by layer. Can't really find a solution.
