Resize artboard&art inside it simultaneously
I just want to resize both artboard and art inside it.
Currently, I've used beta 22.0.0, I can multiple select artboards, but I can't just scale art with artboard, I need to scale each one separately. Or scale art, then select Object->Artboards-> Fit To Selected Art...
But I want just like Ctrl+Mouse to scale them both.
Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 29.0.1 .
Now you can scale you artwork with artboards using Artboard tool , Artboard Dimensions and Preset.
What's New in the release - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

I loved the new "Scale artwork with Artboard" feature and it worked perfectly when I used it a few months ago. Trying to use it again today and can't find it... has this been removed?

I am excited about this feature, but it is not doing what it must. Our linked images, and graphics distort when we do the resize. The programme must intelligently scale text, images and key graphics to ensure that the fit the artboard... of course there are some graphics on the artboard that should free transform, and we should be able to decide. Also, when I select the default Artboards, the graphics don't scale..

This will be an extremely useful feature!! I tried scaling by locking the aspect ratio and adding /2 to width (and then tried with height). The artboard would scale correctly, but the content would only scale along the axis that I changed. I also tried selecting a preset size. Still no love. The only method I could make work was to shift + drag the artboard itself. Please make the content scale proportionally when artboard width and height rtio is locked. Thank you!!

This is great, but if you lock the aspect ratio it only scales horizontally. By unlocking it and typing in new values separately, that allowed the content to scale vertically as well.

Can't wait for this to be a regular feature

Glendon, the ratio will be constrained if you hold Shift while dragging the artboard’s corner marker ...or hitting Ctrl+Enter while entering a value to width or height (oh, wait, it does not work: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/45420100)
If you want to scale an artboard NON-uniformly, but have objects scaled UNIFORMLY — well. How do you expect Ai to treat distances between objects then? To nail them to the artboard/s by the chosen reference point? And if the objects is not groupped? This will spread its part across the distance, right?

I doubt you want that. -

This is very close. I would very much like if artwork would maintian the same aspect ratio of the Artboard if it is scaled with the Constrain Proportions button selected. As of right now, it scales only width.

Has this been resolved? Recently I had received a work to make a design in multiple resolutions 1920x1280, 1280x1024, 1366x768, 1440×720 and I had a tough time placing all the elements proportionately in each of the artboards. If a solution is found to scale the artwork as per the size of the artboard please guide me.

Yeah, this seems like a pretty basic function to me...

Don't care about 1 or 2. Not needed in my opinion. But please implement this ASAP. This is needed by myself and others on an almost daily basis.

@ Rein:
Until an actual fix is available, the only way I am able to keep the artboard and the art in register is to first select one corner of the artboard as the reference point (origin) and scale the artboard first, using the numbers. As long as Constrain width and height proportions is on, you can type a percentage in H or W for precise and repeatable scaling.
Then, for the art, use the Scale tool and select the same corner of the artboard as the reference point of the art and then scale the art to match with the same percentage. -

I have same problem. I got graphics in 1920x1080 and I need to animate it in After Effects, but I decided to animate in 3840x2160. So how can I resize artboard with graphics so that all relations stay same.

Can you implement something that parallels the Photoshop Image > Image Size?

I can't believe this hasn't been answered yet. I, too, need an easy solution to this. I can't imagine that we're the only ones who need to resize already completed artboards AND the art inside them!
