Please add a feature so that we can set scale such as 1:100, 1:50 and so, and create drawings. This helps to create technical drawings with much ease. Also, Illustrator will be able to increase its target customers. I have been using illustrator to create floor plans of building with much ease and lesser time than other software. This software has user friendly interface. So, please make it more suitable for technical drawings. Adding features to calculate area will also be very useful.

Create Droplets like in Photoshop
Illustrator has actions and even a "Batch" for actions. However doesn't seem to be a "Create Droplet" option like Photoshop.
This would be very useful for people who need to do repetitive tasks (in my case a quick and dirty Image Trace on multiple files very often)

Allow Illustrator Cloud Documents to be Placed in Other Adobe Applications
Since the new updates with the cloud have been happening, Illustrator pushes you to save into the cloud and buy storage for said cloud... The only issue is the clouds documents only work with Illustrator.
It would be nice to link/place these cloud files into an InDesign document/project or Photoshop etc. Especially with workflows using IPads. The way the cloud is right now almost makes the cloud pointless for many professional users.
Workflow is essential, so if you update something and try pushing it, at least make it work across all areas, not just one. I understand this is still relatively new, but I hope this does get fixed as it would improve many workflows.
The images below show that the cloud file does not show in the folder... Either allow it to be a .ai or make it so we can actually use the cloud file.

Add the "are you sure" when clicking "no" to "Save changes to document before closing" on an unsaved document
My fingers are so fast that I will quickly click no on the saving option and I didn't mean to. Can you add an additional button after clicking "no". For example "are you sure you want to lose the work that is posted here" that way we have the 10 seconds to remember that we actually wanted to save this document instead of accidentally deleting it. It doesn't happen all the time but it usually happens on documents I have been working on for hours. I've lost so much work because my hands work faster than my brain.

Edit Library graphic in place
Graphics you add to your library can only be edited in a separate file window. I would like to be able to edit the library graphic in place.
This would save time when editing graphics to make them more universally useful for me.

Is there an option to set single keys and function keys as hotkeys?
Is there an option to set single keys and function keys as hotkeys?
I'm used to another vector drawing program in conjunction with Illustrator and that program has some very easy to use hotkeys that are essential for shape alignments, like C for horizontal centering, E for vertical centering, B for bottom of a shape and T for top, etc. On Illustrator I can't set a single keyboard key as a hotkey for the alignment functions without the use of Ctrl or Shift before the key. That's just a no go for me.
And since I use F5 as a command on one of my mouse's side buttons, I would love to use it as a hotkey for the selection tool on Illustrator, but it doesn't let me set function keys as hotkeys.
Look, Adobe developers... If I have to adapt to the program instead of it giving me the options to adapt it to my preferences, then it makes no sense for a user to pay for the program. And yes, those options are perfectly possible and probably easy to implement.
The big question here is why these options are not yet present after SO MANY versions of Illustrator?

How to select non filled shapes just by clicking on their surface?
How can I select a shape/object without a fill just by clicking on its surface?
I don't want to click on the stroke, since that's slower and less practical than clicking on the middle of the shape, I don't want to click on layers nor any slower way to do it.If what I want is not possible, then that would be a very clear sign that Adobe is very, VERY stubborn against selecting by clicking on the middle of the shapes, for no reason at all, since there's no problem in putting an option for it on the settings window.
Don't get me wrong, I love a few things on Illustrator, like the Hand tool working by holding its key or the Ctrl, Shift, and Alt tool modificators/changers, I love these things, but I just can't be selecting shapes by using unnecessararily complicated ways.

Basic touchpad functionality on Windows
As someone who just switched from Mac to Windows, it's incredibly frustrating not to be able to zoom with a pinch or even to scroll diagonally.

We need consistency between Adobe programs.
When are we going to get consistency between Adobe programs?
Some examples:
Resizing in Photoshop and Illustrator: one requires SHIFT to retain proportions, one doesn't
Clicking the Fill/Stroke colour in Photoshop and Illustrator: one requires double clicking, one doesn't

LTR Digits for Middle East Settings
In Arabic text, letters are RTL, but digits are LTR. There's no way to use multiple character styles within one paragraph, you can only set the text direction to the entire paragraph. To make the attached, I had to set the language of the digits to English and type the number in backwards (e.g. for 300g, I have typed it in as 003 for it to show like that, which requires a lot of concentration!!)

artwork over canvas isolation toggle
Toggle function that changes the view between showing all artwork in a drawing, and only showing everything that is actually over the canvas. basically, a quick and easy toggle to see what an exported pdf would look like. Exactly like the toggle built into InDesign (toggled by "w").
3 votesThis can be done with View > Trim View command.
You can assign any hotkey you want to it.
There is also a Presentation mode, but it does a slightly different thing.

Restoring the CAD tree-view when importing DXF files.
Before version 25.1, when importing DXF files created with a CAD software (Solid Edge), each part of an assembly was recognized by Illustrator (1 part = 1 layer).
This is not the case anymore since version 25.1. The last version in which it works is version 25.0.13 votes -

symbol marker in preview and outline view
I'd like to see a symbol "marker" of some sort to quickly identify symbols used on a layout, much like the pilcrow and other typographic characters used in InDesign (that can be turned On or Off). These "markers" should be visible in both Preview and Outline views. Thanks. A.C.

Draw inside object filled with freeform gradient
The moment you attempt to paste artwork into an object which has a free form gradient, the gradient fill disappears and can only be retrieved if you perform undo or unclip the pasted artwork.
I honestly would love to be able to draw inside or paste into artwork filled with a free form gradient without the free form gradient disappearing. Please note that am not talking of workarounds here…

Similar to Flux Eyedropper Tool Plugin for Adobe InDesign
A tool like Flux Eyedropper Tool for Illustrator would be a game change for faster workflow. I use this for Indesign it's a serious game changer.
https://www.fluxconsulting.com/software/
Instructions and user flow:
1. Hold down the Control + Option keys, then release the Control key.
2. Use the Eyedropper tool as you wish.
3. Release the Option key to return to the tool you were using.3 votes
