Pen Tool and Curvature Tool
All my design products are from adobe, but, to be honest the path control is very primitive. The best path control tool in every single aspect could be found in CorelDraw. I think it is gonna help if you study the CorelDraw path control tool.

Copy in shift-command-m
In shift-command-m, Move, you had the option of copying by hitting option-enter on the keyboard. You took away that option a few years ago and this is slowing me down.

permit higher resolution art brushes
Currently art brushes are limited to 1000x1000 pixels which results in jagged edges if the brush image is used directly. Permit the use of much higher resolutions. This would increase the functionality of the brushes which currently look quite artificial.

Export slices as HTML
I have always used illustrator and photoshop to work in for websites. I then normally open in Dreamweaver and finish the job off. Why can I no longer use the slices I have created in illustrator to create my initial html template... I don't seem to be able to export any more.

The option to select the text on the active artboard and not just the whole document.
The option to select the text on the active artboard and not just the whole document. Presently I can select all text elements, I can then flatten/outline the text. But... if I need to outline the text on the active artboard, that would save a lot of time.

データをEPS形式で保存する際に、上書き保存になるようにしてほしい
今までは、作業データをEPS形式で保存する際に、指定した場所に同名のファイルがあれば上書き保存できていたが、現在は、指定したファイル名の末尾に「_01」等が勝手に付け加えられ、別名保存になってしまう。これまでの方法で上書き保存できるようにしてほしい。

Dynamic Swatch
It would be awesome to link colors used in multiple places to a parent color swatch. When wanting to change every instance of a specific hex value you could make the change once and have them all update (similar feature in InDesign, I believe?)

Please add legacy menus and tools as a workspace
Please, please add legacy menus and tools as an option for a workspace. I have been using AI 3 for years on my old G5 and recently went to a new iMac and bought the full line monthly for all Adobe programs. Acrobat is so much better, PS is tolerable, but AI is near impossible! Everything has moved, the tools react differently and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find everything! Page setup is gone, I do a lot of Image Tracing (all the way back to when you needed that extra program to do it!) and…

Custom keyboard shortcuts can be added manually with Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts: Tools / Menu commands

Disable rotation shortcut in bounding box.
When working with small elements, the rotation tool interferes with opt+dragging to duplicate.
Rotation is not nearly as common a tool as simple manipulating/duplicating an object. Would prefer to use the Rotate tool when needed.1 vote -

Show Contentpreview in hidden layers
When you hide a layer, the contentpreview in the little square in the Layers Panel is hidden. Finding a specific layer is terrible when it’s hidden (you only see the layers name).
That makes absolutely no sense to me and has no benefit that I can think of, to the contrary.
Please make it at least an option, or just make the Layerpreview always visible. I can see that it’s hidden when I see the eye canceled on the right, no need for more indication that its hidden.

Automatisches Textfeld, das sich an den Text anpasst
Bei Infografiken werden kurze Texte oft mit farbigen Flächen hinterlegt. Cool wäre eine Funktion in Illustrator, welche einen Textblock oder eine Textzeile automatisch mit so einer Fläche hinterlegt. Optional könnte man Farbe, Eckenradius, Transparenz, Grösse (über den Text hinaus) usw. bestimmen.

Allow me to change filename and file size dimensions with "Export as..." option
I can no longer save my file with it's filename when exporting an artboard for client review. I would like to be able to have control over the naming of the file and the dimensions I export to (especially when building out billboard art files). If there was an option that showed file size and dimensions like in the previous "Save to Web" that would be optimal

Keyboard shortcut to invoke the search box under the Help menu
I swear there used to be a keyboard shortcut to do this. Given the relative complexity of Illustrator, I rely on search to locate less frequently performed actions. I currently navigate by mouse up to the Help menu (which automatically gives the Search field focus), where I type in the first few characters of the action I wish to perform (results are refined as I type in more characters); this way, I can simply select the action I want right from the Help menu. It would be great if I could forego the mouse entirely and invoke that Help menu…
1 voteYou definitely can assign a hotkey for Discover, using Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, in Menu Commands.
The problem though it’s named as 'Illustrator Help' there, not 'Discover'. By default it uses F1.
