Sort content in links palette + User controlled preflight warnings
Added sorting ability in links palette would be very useful.
Allowing me to sort by file size, alpha, date placed, date altered. Similar to finder or windows explorer. Allowing me to rearrange the columns to suit my needs.A preflight indicator of any potential conflicts would be a nice add as well.
CMYK doc with an RGB image placed. Unused nodes swatches, does this doc contain any overprint items, that kind of thing. In a perfect world I could set in prefs what I want warnings for.2 votes -
Guidelines for artboards and transformation options
You should be able to have a ruler for every artboard you work on (with an option to turn it on or off).
Also, artboard should have their own guidelines, that does not extend beyond bleeding area of the artboard. These guidelines should copy automatic to the new artboard when you copy the artboard with Option-Drag.
Also, when selectable, the Guideline should have the transform options in transform panel (a rotation and size would be an excellent option)2 votes -
Multiple Fills/Strokes in Properties Panel
It would be helpful if the "Appearance" part of the Properties panel would allow the addition of multiple fills and strokes like you can in the standalone Appearance panel. I would like to use the Properties panel more but cannot for this reason.

The ability to select a vertical row within text to change color or make it bold.
The ability to select a vertical row within text to change colors or style.
We design a lot of restaurant menus, brochures, TV menus, and currently to make the items and prices have its own color or style, we either duplicate and erase items/prices to change color and style (bold for e.g.), or we change each line manually (which takes some time).
Wish to see this in Illustrator soon.

Reverse Track a Linked Image
I would be like to be able to find an image (jpg/png) in my files, and see what documents it is linked to in InDD and AI.
I do a LOT of image linking, and it would help me (perhaps in Bridge? don't know what's best) to be able to open an image file, and see what documents I have linked it to.
It would help me track how many times I've used something already, who (of my clients) have already seen it, and often I can remember the image, but not what I've used it for.

Different number of copies for each artboard
Hi,
I've a document in Illustrator with a lot of pages (artboards).
I must print a specific number of copies for each page.
Example: for the page number one I must print 20 copies, for the page two I must print 60 copies, ecc
Is there a way to forward this request with one command or I must select one by one page?
I've found this trick but is very complicated if I've a lot of pages to print: in the label of range of artboards I write : 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,5,5,5,5,5,ecc

Add option when creating New View to opt out from changing zoom level
The custom Views is a godsend for complex artwork, but sometimes it would be nice to keep the zoom level and toggle only the Layers settings (visibility, lock status, etc). So either an option when saving the custom View, or a program-wide preference setting would be highly appreciated. In this way, the request for a layer visibility toggle shortcut could also be partially addressed.

1st of all, big fan of illustrator, and quite loved it when I used it for arts that captivated even my teachers
Examples of what I did on my free time:
Vector Artwork - Group 57 CyberCap by thunder-of-light on DeviantArt (made 2 head-shots per day, and I am the only one with colored eyes)
Ben Franklin taking a selfie by thunder-of-light on DeviantArtTake note I really, REALLY hate piracy (I am the supportive type), but I also dislike that some things I can't even afford or even access (no internet at my place, so monthly payments are out of the question for the time being).
- I want to actually buy a legit copy of Adobe series, one it gives me joy of support to the creators, and I don't feel down when using them.
I got little to no money, but I wanted to save up for such programs.
I do not trust E-Bay, Amazon, and the sort, bad experience of buying illegal copies at first, had to report them but got no money back. Never bought once since then.
Anyhow to the main point of my suggestion:
Selling older products at lower price based on their version on your website. In a way it's a form of anti-piracy, it does encourage people to actually buy a less risky platform, and even add some level of support, not only to adobe but most people's self confidence.
I would love to at least see your starting programs, might be relics, but they did start your business. (I do keep some relics games at my place, even an old Pokemon yellow cartridge, due to fond memories).
Reason why it is important to me, is that I studied with Illustrator, Photoshop, and even Flash, yet while trying to experience the "Free" variety (such as inkscape)... it doesn't really give the same shortcuts for work.

Show all tabs when switching to fullscreen mode
When switching to Full Screen Mode I can only see the document I'm working with. Why not show all the open documents like tabs?
I don't understand why the tabs disappear just because I'm switching to fullscreen.

[BUG] xmpMM:DocumentID isn't unique at creation stage
When you create new documents, they all share the same XMP documentID value while you would expect it's unique for every single new document.
Saving the document solves the issue but it means one can't rely on documentID uniqueness while the document isn't saved.
It needs to be unique at the creation stage already.2 votes

Moving as a feature request. We generate an unique value only on file save. When you create a file it inherits all the attributes of the preset it uses. This is the reason you see the same uuid each time you create the document,

Ability to search functions
For example, in rhino I can type all the functions without having to search through the menus with my mouse

This new window allows you to search within tools, commands, tutorials, etc. — but no commands form other panels’ menus, or scripts, or actions.

Making a light Prezi-like presentation mode inside adobe Illustrator by defining views and a presentation view panel
Please add a presentation mode functionality, something like Prezi or Focusky like animations between views inside Illustrator itself.
The user should have ability to define views inside artboards. Each view consists of scale, rotations and position like Prezi, on every slide change the view changes animatingly between the views.
For now I use Shift + Page Down and Page Up to switch between artboards. But not inside an artboard and not with animations. I push f twice and enter full screen and its cool. But there can be a lite presentation mode managed by a small panel, containing views, which each view can have size and rotation and a button for entering presentation mode and a predefined animation like Prezi to move from views is enough and satisfies the users.
Each view may have a memory for layers visibility also, to appear new layers in presentation process along multiple views, common in size, position and rotation, but differ in some layers visibility.
Users will love it.

let me interact with the artboard while having appearance-effect dialogues open
As soon as a dialogue from the effects panel is open (e.g. 3D extrude & bevel or drop shadow, etc. ...) I cannot interact with my artwork anymore as the dialogue box hogs the focus. This is really annoying as you often want to adjust the size or position of your object when editing the effects to better see if everything meshes well together

Autodesk designer had this feature. Need real line weighting. Please offer handle rotation/individual handle movement in the Width tool?
Please consider the same bezier path tools incorporated into the Pen Width tool. My inkling cleanup would be a breeze and this may be an easy and awesome feature enhancement. Autodesk Designer used to have this tool and it saved a LOT of time.
