Apple pencil writing features failure
When I first started using Illustrator for iPad, the new writing features for Apple Pencil were working fine. For example, renaming a layer or layer group using the Apple Pencil gestures and handwriting recognition that is now part of iPad OS 14. However, something has gone wrong and now I can’t use the Apple Pencil handwriting feature within text-entry fields in Illustrator.

Illustrator crashes about 5-10 seconds every time I try to open a file. I have uninstalled, updated, updated iOS, restarted my iPad and tried different files including a brand new file. Same thing each time. Currently unable to get work done.

Photos and canvas freezes sometimes after importing photos
About one out of every five times I import a photo from my iPad camera roll the art board and picture freezes in place. I can still select different tools and options and I can still go back, but I can’t move around the photos or Zoom in and out of the canvases/art boards. I have to quit the app and restart it to start moving around my photos or canvases again.

PNG imports are stacking
When importing PNGs from Photo Gallery, the first one imports fine until importing others right after. They begin to stack over each other As merged an inseparable.

Maybe put any amount of effort into fixing any of the absurd number of issues that everyone seems to be having
I’m blown away by how this app doesn’t function well for anyone. The last update was over three months ago? Come on guys, some of us need to use Illustrator for work. Please, I’m begging you to fix some of these bugs. I’m missing deadlines because I can’t even open any projects. I can’t believe I’m paying for this every month.

importing images does not work in app
When I import an image using the shortcut on the workspace to the left the images only shows up as a white frame and I cannot see the actually image. When importing images by copying them in the photos app and pressing cmd v in the app it imports correctly.

i literally have to restart my app every 5 minutes
i have to restart my app every 5 minutes (not exaggerating) because so many features stop working. zoom, drawing, color picking, etc. i pay $60/mo for these apps and i’m not even guaranteed proper functionality.

Resizing an images crashes the app
Every time I open Adobe illustrator and resize an image on my artboard, the app freezes and then crashes. I can open the properties on the side and resize the image by typing how many pixels to enlarge or shrink the image. However, if I try to grab one of the Corners of the image and drag to make it larger or smaller, that’s when the app freezes and crashes, leaving my work unsaved. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Illustrator app, verifying and updating my iPadOS and restarting my M4 Apple iPad Pro.

App Crashed when opening a file
App used to work fine. Now when I try to open a file it takes forever to open, when finally open it shows a black window and the app crashes.

anyone addressing bugs or basic malfunctioning?
As an Illustrator desktop self taught artist/user for about 25 years, I have now struggled with an iPadPro for 18 months. Had I realized the limited functionality and time needed to discover and deal with the daily crashes & bugs, I would never have purchased it. The question being: is Adobe actually attempting to address this? OR is this just what I have to accept & plan for in my process? This help link appears to provide very little support or encouragement about the future of Illustrator on the iPad.

App crashing
App crashes within a minute or two of opening. iOS and app are up to date and I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it continues to crash shortly after opening it.

Keeps crashing on iPad and lost hours of work.
I have a brand new iPad Pro with plenty of storage and is up to date. I was using illustrator for work and I was one brush stroke away from being done and now I can’t open that file without it crashing. I tried everything from deleting the app and redownloading, and restarting my iPad. Nothings working and I need to get into that file. Very disappointing.

Crashing constantly
The app keeps crashing no matter what I do. I’ve done everything I was able to do on this forum and it still won’t stop. Everything is up to date.
