Add a quick save button
Sometimes the auto save doesn’t work or takes too long. When I switch between an AI file it doesn’t always save recent changes and I find myself having to start again. A save button at the top next to settings or share will help a lot! And give me security

Include all free form gradient options and gradient meshes from the desktop version.
Having only point–based free form gradients is far to restrictive. We should at least be able to use free form line gradients and gradient meshes.

No rendering while using brush tool
I have been using the brush tool to add color and it’s blurry with jagged edges while I’m using it and then smoothed out after I’m done, even with smoothing set to the lowest setting. This is really distracting and just makes creating and adding color not very enjoyable. I like how the tool works in Fresco, it’s smooth and really feels like I’m coloring something in real time, but I like to make vector lines which Fresco doesn’t have and it’s a shame that the programs aren’t compatible.

A timeline and onionskin for animation, also add the loop tool. Take a look at Procreate!
It would be good to animate from an Adobe product on my iPad. There are a lot of limitations with other Animation apps. The Loop pool would be very helpful when drawing.

Components like in XD will help a lot
There are still no symbols in Illustrator for iPad but it is better to develop more modern and powerful components like in XD.

Type Tool difficult to use
It might be my ability to use the UI effectively, not sure.
I have created 8 different type boxes containing about 30 words each. When I edit any of them it is difficult to “click into” the text to edit. When I do finally achieve properly locating my cursor, as I type the text insertion is very laggy.
Thanks! I enjoy using Illustrator on my IPad Pro.

Add a Task Note Widget
As the workflow grows, we tend to move from project to project as creative work expand. Sometimes we start a project but move to the next and go back to it and don’t remember the aim. So it would be amazing to write a note and add tasks to do while going through the document

This needs elaboration. What would you consider 'better'? Please describe or show examples, if these exist.

Same brush as in Draw App
This tool in Draw is a way more creative than in Illustrator App. I want to feel the same when I use it in illustrator for iPad. Please 😊

Import from Libraries like Draw to get Capture Shapes
Currently the Illustrator app cannot import Capture shapes which save to Libraries, but Adobe Draw can. This makes no sense. Please don't limit Illustrator app to importing Cloud Documents.

Add artboard menu to properties panel
This would allow for easier switching between art boards rather than have to zoom out and find the one you want, then select it and pinch to zoom in on it.
Or you could add it as a submenu under the current artboard presets menu.

Create color palette and swatches within the app using image capture and pictures
Would be nice to be able to create a color palette directly inside the app by importing color from the picture or using image capture. Adobe capture does allow selecting palette and swatches but directly built in feature within iPad illustrator wud save time and be more productive for work flow. Ability to save these palettes as awe file and use it across other Adobe products wud be great with this feature.
