Restore anchor point long hold to delete anchor points. Previously, when performing a long press with the direct select tool on an anchor point, it would delete that anchor point. Using the "delete anchor point" button on the floating menu is now the only option, but the long press method is just simpler and saves a lot of effort. A nice way to restore this option is to have it as a feature that you can turn on/off in prefrences.

The app settings button is a button within a button. Fix it. So theres an issue with the app settings button in the navigation bar. Its the gear icon button. It is a button within a button. This is called bad design and we need to fix it. Its bad design because I have to click a button to get to the app settings and then I have to click another button to get to the app settings when the first button should have gotten me to the app settings but it didn’t.
If I click on the gear icon, which is my app settings button, I am given a pop up…

Finger Gesture Workflow I just started my trial for illustrator on iPad, and Im already upset because of this touch modifier button. Why am I forced as a user to use this touch modifier button? Why can’t I just use a 1 finger or 2 fingers ANYWHERE on the ipad screen to do primary and secondary behaviors? I dont want to use this touch modifier. I instead want to use my fingers because its easier and faster.
I hate how I SPECIFICALLY have to tap on this touch modifier button to do primary and secondary behaviors for different tools and actions. I want…

Ability to use arrow keys for cursor placement within text. When editing text, it’d be great to be able to use the arrow keys on the magic keyboard to move the cursor within text vs. having to use my fingers to drop the cursor.

Mirroring the font on an image and saving that font for later So there are a ton of downloadable templates we can choose from and I can never find a perfect template… When I do find a design/format that I like, I can never find the matching theme that reciprocates the intentions I had for the search… So it would be extremely appreciated if we could simply sample the text off an image/template that we outline, and then allow us to save that type of writing… Once saved, I’d like to have the ability of simply deleting what the words that the template has and replacing it with mine…

The Zoom Indicator should not be in decimals I dont know whats going on but the zoom indicator at the top of the UI that displays the zoom percentage should not be in decimals. I dont know why its like that. Nobody works that way. Nobody says, " Oh, i need to be zoomed in at 156.73%." Nobody says that. Just make it 156% or 157%. Dont add decimals. Remove them. This is an easy fix. This is not a feature request. This is a design issue. Please fix it.

Constrain proportions during resizing The user shouldn't need to use "the bubble" in order to keep proportions of an object during resizing.
If I want to resize a circle, I shouldn't need to take additional step while resizing it in order for it not to turn into an oval.

Pencil tool redraw paths Please make it possible to redraw paths with the pencil tool like in the desktop app. It seems like an essential function for the iPad app to make this possible using your Apple Pencil. It was the first thing I wanted to do with the iPad App was import my Illustrator document and redraw the paths with the Apple Pencil but I was shocked to find it can’t do that and people have been asking for that function since 2020. Otherwise it’s completely useless to me as an illustrator

Background removal Tool One Reason I keep my Canva subscription is because they offer a background removal tool for photos. Sometimes when I am designing on my iPad I need to perform a background removal. Canva has an amazing tool for this. If Adobe offered an equally effective background removal tool for photos in illustrator for iPad it would make my life easier and would render Canva unnessisary.

Select all color swatches to delete at once. Since I almost always want to delete the standard color swatches in a new document, it would be nice to be able to select all at once to delete, or at least multiples, instead of having to delete one at a time, very inefficient.

EYEDROPPER SHORTCUT PLEASSEEEE (i) *just like desktop Please please please give us a shortcut for eye dropper. I can’t fathom how this was overlooked. AI for iPad is virtually useless for me, and doubtless others, without it. Its nice to not be chained to my desktop for work.
86 votesWe released a new version today - 3.0.1 and we are now supporting eyedropper shortcut.
