An error occurred while saving the comment Homer, even with the file on hands it’s quite hard to follow the problem, at least for me, even with all caps removed.
I somewhat understand the problem, and it feels familiar to me, but I’d really appreciate if you demonstrate it using a simple test file and compact steps anyone can follow — this would be very helpful to force the investigation.
A short small video can help too. Can you do that, please? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Cristoffer, if this still happens for you, can you please check if you have Include SVG Code option enabled in Preferences > Clipboard handling. Does it help to toggle it?
Also — do you have any clipboard managers installed and enabled? -

If it does — can you please check the options you have enabled in Preferences > Clipboard Handling. Do you have Include SVG Code enabled there? Does it help if you toggle it?

Ctrl+F does exactly what you want it to do.
Copy/cut an object first, then select an object in hierarchy, press Ctrl+F and have you object placed in front of selected sub-object (but using the coordinates of copied object, of course, unlike Ctrl+V does).
Tested right now on Windows in 25.2.3, it works for me. Please try too. -

If it does, please share a short video if these 'random actions' you say Ai used to perform. -

If yes, then it looks like you have Paste Remembers Layers option enabled. Please try to check if it’s off for you, in Layers panel’s flyout menu.
If it is disabled, but the behavior is still the same, please comment back. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Perhaps the word «boucherie» in this particular prompt is something the model rejects (the primary meanings are 'carnage, slaughter, bloodletting, massacre, destruction, annihilation, extermination, holocaust, bloodbath').
I am told Using the prompt in English ‘Black and white butcher shop logo’ works. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Ton, do you Measure Tool in Illustrator, not Photoshop? It was never possible to cut and paste it, the tool does not leave anything on canvas to be copied. The tool only shows the measured distance while you hold the mouse button / pen down.
Or do you mean something else? -

Sorry, these are only guesses :(An error occurred while saving the comment Does it help to disable home screen at all, with Preferences > General: Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open?
Another question I have to ask — do you have any third-party plugins installed? Does it help to disable them (I personally had like a dozen cases when a plugin was the root problem)?
Then — does it help if you downgrade to version 27? -

Do you mean switching between apps or do you meant Ctrl+Tab?
Or do you have multiple Illustrator app windows opened? -

The only difference is that they can’t reposition the bar!An error occurred while saving the comment K-O, I agree, I think the font weight and style is better to be chosen in a different manner altogether, without duplicating the dropdown ONE MORE TIME — we already have at least four places we can do that. I was thinking about B and I buttons, and to let Ai smartly pick and cycle through the possible styles...
However — can you please provide screenshots of the situation with the dropdown positions on screen, to clarify the problem to everybody?
An error occurred while saving the comment I think Flip operations should be visible for any selection, not just images. And I think we should be able to decide, which options we would like to see in the panel. And I think Ai should allow us to use ANY function it has there, even those existing in panels’ flyout menus (which today we can’t even automate with hotkeys!). Remember — a professional tool is a customizable tool.
An error occurred while saving the comment The bar does not follow the selection, when the bounding box is turned off. Bounding box should not influence the positioning of the bar. The connection makes little sense.

However — what do you think the team can change to make it a) less atrocious, b) really useful? -
