An error occurred while saving the comment In Russia we use commas as delimiter too, and when I have to work with variables, I have to auto-replaces commas with dots in an external editor.
Would be nice to be able to choose a delimiter right there in Ai.
As a workaround, try to use Variable Importer script from Vasily Hall:
https://github.com/Silly-V/Adobe-Illustrator/tree/master/Variable%20Importer
It closes some major gaps within native Variables. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I consulted some veteran users about this, and it feels it’s not what Illustrator ever had.
Some other applications (e.g. FreeHand) were able to interrupt the path by double clicking on an endpoint. Perhaps this it what you confused with Illustrator with.
The other possible confusion is the Lasso in Photoshop, which does end an operation on a double-click. Perhaps it all just got mish-mashed.
A double-click also bears the risk of imprecision, and this is what I personally often get working with the Lasso in PS, and prefer to hit Enter instead.
An error occurred while saving the comment What was the last version you used before switching to CC versions? Every version after version 10 do not end a path drawn with the Pen with a double-click, so I have my doubts about the claim you make, I have to test it in earlier versions if these are what you used before the switch. Sorry, we can’t rely on your or my memories here, it’s a fluid matter.
Even if it’s not a lost feature, but a brand new suggestion, the research has to be done. What I mean by 'double-clicking a node to change the corner/smooth' is Curvature tool, not Pen. They are somewhat alike, ad have similar tool icons even.
An error occurred while saving the comment I just checked Illustrator 10 if it does stop drawing with a double-click — it does not. So either it was never a thing, or I didn’t check it deeper enough :)
Return, however, still ends the path in version 10.
So does the Escape — I am right-handed and I use it instead of Return, so maybe it can work for you as well.
As for the general idea of having in work with a double-click... The Pen is related to the Curvature tool, and it uses double-click to convert a sharp node to a smooth one and vice versa. Having the Pen with the double-click to end the path and not the Curvature can lead to more frustrations with their incomplete similarities.
Sure, it can be added as an option, but I personally don't think it’s entirely necessary.

An error occurred while saving the comment Chud, when you say 'move', do you mean it actually moves as if it’s dragged, or it just snaps to the left edge of the screen?
Does this happen for any other dialog or panel for you?An error occurred while saving the comment The team is aware of this problem and is currently investigating it.
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul, this is extremely weird. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try to bring some attention to it.

An error occurred while saving the comment You say 'draw' with the lasso?
What do you mean exactly? Something like this?
https://twitter.com/ebanchiki/status/1280425510804295681Lasso is generally a selection tool, and having it in Illustrator would be a nice addition for some complex selection cases, but I suppose you meant something else. Please explain it more.

An error occurred while saving the comment Kiff, this is not a general behaviour, at least for me, with those machines I have access to. When did you start to notice this? Can you check this problem for versions before the latest release?
Can you also record a short video demonstrating the problem?
Also please provide full specification of your machine. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Voting works. It does not directly solves an issue, but it increases awareness, helps admins and product managers to raise and push certain problems, indicates the impact a problem has.
The problem is Illustrator is old and humongous, problems have to be weighted. Generally, if an issue gets more than something like ten votes, it is considered to be a problem worth looking at. It does not mean a bug with nine votes is never going to be treated, it just pushes it further away and let other, more impactful bugs, to be fixed first. Same with feature requests.Doubts is OK, I still have them, even though I know how it works :) You can check my profile too. Uservoice helped to fix a lot of problems, it’s just there are a lot of them.
Don’t loose hope. Thanks for the reports you make, they help.

Also provide the exact specifications of your GPU. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Your use a hyphen to type it, don't you? This is treated as a minus generally.
I just want to point out there is a clash between the metric and non-metric systems once again, and if it gets done that straightforward, this is going to upset a lot of users, who do not care about fractions of an inch.
I understand your frustration as well, I just add there can be even more frustration caused by 'fixing' it.
Am interesting idea though, I wonder if any comments will follow. Thanks for the request! An error occurred while saving the comment While I'm all in for complex math operations in a field, I can't but notice that '116-7/8' is '116 minus 7 divided by 8', which gives '115.125'. The division is performed before subtraction, evich is a not even a thing which is universally agreed on — but using a minus sign as a conjunction symbol is even less conventional and intentionally adopted.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dominic, I usually agree on accessibility features requested, but this one feels as a thing which is not needed. We can open tool's options with Enter, and I can't say it's that difficult, since a hand is already over the keyboard.
But behaviors and keyboard also differ — I'm used to tap Numerical Enter in the right bottom corner with a thumb of my right hand, without leaving a mouse. Also I know about an external system that utilizes double-taps to access subtools, which is comfortable for many. I'd better have this as a standard feature.

Those on Windows, including myself, have a similar bug, when the application window gets restored from it’s maximized view, when a file is opened form the Explorer (still not fixed!), it feels like the same problem.
Derek, I can’t offer you nothing, sadly, except for trying a dumb workaround: turn on the Application Frame (temporarily, I understand this is not something you like, and I don’t get why, being a Windows user), make sure the window has the correct width when not maximized, and then turn the frame off again.
It feels like Ai remembers the maximum width of a document, based on something, and then shrinks it when it’s exceeded.
