Hm. Jameson, do you refer to Window > New Window command, that opens another viewport?
It works for me for cloud files.
Or do you mean that you actually open two copies of the same file instead? Why? Window > New Window is specifically designed for the task you describe... or do I miss something?

Oh, I get what you mean, and I am almost sure I mentioned it here at least once... these is why I hesitate to make nested symbols, actually :(
Can you please share the final result of the procedure you describe though?
The steps are somewhat complex enough to reproduce, and the team would require a visual guide to follow them.

Does it happen with all the files?
Can you reproduce this problem in a new file, or does it happen within the specific file only?
If the only file is affected — can you please share it with the team for investigation?
Attach it here in comment if you are allowed to do so, or send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com

Strange. Actually Illustrator does respect clip group when aligning and aligns these to their clip masks’ bounds, no of their clipped content...
Can you please share a demonstration or clear step, with screenshots?

'Was never able to do that' is not an excuse for not calling it a bug :) It could have been broken from the very start or never implemented. We expect it to divide the same way other non-compound shapes do, and it makes sense for it to behave consistently. There is no hard threshold to define similar problems, but here Ai messages us with 'more than one objects is selected' — and it’s not true, so it’s hardly a request than, but an 'Ai lies' case, and it makes it a bug.

Have no idea. It depends on the overall vote count, the availability, the current tasks the team pursues... All of it at once.
But I'd say it''s more a bug report rather than a request though.

Randy, did you mean Desktop or iPad?

AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) commented  ·

Indeed! Ai thinks it’s more than one object selected and refuses to divide anything.
The workaround is obviously to Copy, Paste in Back, Expand, and then Divide, but it’s 3 more operations.
    Should be automated!

Tzara, please check you Preferences > General, the Keyboard Increment parameter — what value do you have there? Is it something really small? Does it help if you change it?

As per the comment inside, an ability to hide units for dimension objects is introduced in AI Beta build 28.3.0.47.

No more news so far on other parts of the request.

Speaking of which — if possible, please try to report/request one entry per post, to better track all the feedback. Thanks you for your participation.

Does it differ (just to check it) if you use English characters only to name artboards?

The fact it is consistent across apps does not prove it is a correct behavior... I should check this later to see if it feels wrong as well.
For now it’s the first time it’s mentioned here at UV (yet again, it doesn’t verify anything).
    What about InD and Ps?

Mac and Windows fight over the behavior of the scroll.
Macs think that scrolling is a same thing as swiping with a touch, so they make moving the finger up to move the page down (and they call it 'natural').
Windows believes scrolling is its own thing, and moving the finger up should make pages and values go up. Illustrator uses this approach, as far as I know.

When you say 'scroll up' — what do you actually mean? Moving a finger away from you or at you?

There is a way to toggle it in OS, but not for Ai only.

The Beta 28.4.0.7 now create live dimension objects, that track and follow the changes to the measured objects: resizing, rotating, moving...

As for now, moving only dimension breaks the link and expands the dimension (hopefully will change, and break the link only).

Moving an object with its related dimension currently expand the dimension as well (hopefully won’t do it either).

Please test the change and share feedback — it helps a lot!

It feels like it’s something MacOS is doing, actually. Users with Ventura say they have it as a short name!
    Needs investigating.
SL, are you on Catalina, correct? When did you notice this?
