An error occurred while saving the comment In 24.1.3 units appear later and then stay.
Also I noticed that after initial entering the value Ai recalculates it, presumably from points into mm, resulting a different value. An error occurred while saving the comment

Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Does Ai freeze though? Or just do nothing?
Does the asterisk in the document’s tab disappear when you initiate Save?
Are you able to Save a copy? -

An error occurred while saving the comment A dedicated team, that has no influence over 'real' technical problems that other dedicated teams are in charge of, make these changes happen.
My task, for example, is to validate requests and help devs to prioritize resources.
Your request ...is not that useful. Still I respond you! :)
And as far as I know, Illustrator never made changes about inclusivity... InDesign did, replacing 'masters' with 'parents'. So it's a double miss.
If you have other, valid ideas, — please share them or vote for those you find impactful.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evan, what document profile you woodworkers use when they create their artworks? RGB? If yes, then you can:
1. Use CMYK (Print) profile that does have the default set to center
2. Update RGB (Web) profile to force a new default for stokes.
Locate the Web.ai file on your machine (it can be hidden). In Windows it should looks something like `C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 25 Settings\en_US\x64\New Document Profiles`, but it obviously depends on version and OS you are using. Draw a rectangle, change the alignment of stroke to center, and then Alt+drag it over the default style in Graphics Styles panel. Save the document and backup it elsewhere, because Ai tends to rewrite these document profiles each update.
I know this sound tedious though :)
An error occurred while saving the comment Strangely, it's OK for me. What document profile do you use to create new documents which have this behaviour? Or it happens in old documents? Provide more info, please.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi, Ardoq.
When you say 'transparency of a layer' — do you mean a transparency of a Layer that has a global 'targeted' transparency, or of an object that is placed on the layer, has a custom opacity set and it is what is not picked?
Probably the later. Hm. Can you show the screenshot or describe what options are ticked in the tool’s options and, if possible, share the file that has this bug reproducible within? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Philip, it's one of many existing GPU rendering bugs Ai has.
Can you make a copy of your file, remove everything that does not influence the bug, and share it here? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Brian, this is so cool.
The idea isn't that fresh, but the fact you have built such a demo is very imressing.Well, AstuteGraphis already have pulled-string option in latest DynamicSketch. Closure settings you offer is not implemented, but I quite like your approach!
Also, there's LazyNedzumi, which is more general separate powerful tool, that does the thing, you should see and try that.
And I would certainly work on native way to have it within AI, but only after they fix a huge list of bugs, trailing after AI for years.
Good luck!

An error occurred while saving the comment Is this still an issue for you?
Can’t confirm, pastes alright.
If this still happens — please attach the file that has this problem (it might be file-specific) and the video of you experiencing it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment David, can you show how? I mean record a video of you trying.
Because selection can not work with text in many ways — a range of text, a text as a whole object, with all objects at all...
To investigate something the team must have clues. Also: try to select other objects and check if View > Show Edges is checked

An error occurred while saving the comment Does it work now?
If not — please provide the file you are trying to export from and describe the exact method (there are 5) you are using.
Hard to fix anything without symptoms. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Well, not that much can be guessed without looking into your network configuration — by your administrator or a member of Adobe staff. I suggest you ask yours to try first, if you have one.
If not — try to reinstall drivers first and then, if the issue persists, write to sharewithai@adobe.com (or any other support channel) and ask for a session to look into your machine, to figure out what is happening. An error occurred while saving the comment Seems a a network issue, some sort of an access restrictions.
Please go extra details with it.
Do you try the same or different files?
From the same or different machines?
What are the permissions that are set for that engraver for your network?
Your system/network administrator can check the latter one and probably fix the issue. -

I confirm that and I had it for several versions already and even reported internally.
Thank you for logging it in publicly.
It means I am not the only one having this!
It’s quite easy to replicate it:
1. Make sure Align panel is collapse or hidden.
2. Relaunch Ai
3. Create a Print document, metric based
4. Expand Align panel
Now, if you create two objects and click one to set it as a key, the Distribute Spacing value displays no units! And if you type 1 in it, it applies 1pt instead of 1mm.
And if you type specifically '1mm' in it, Ai dings at you and doesn’t accept the value!
A workaround I know is to create a new document with the panel visible. Sometimes I am lucky to get it fixed in place, after fiddling with undo and cursing aloud.
