An error occurred while saving the comment It feels like the Large Canvas mode (the one that enables ×10 coefficient) is in play somehow... can you tell more about this document?
Was it you who created it? Do you remember what artboard size you used when creating it? Were you given a warning about Large Canvas being activated?
Can you share the file with the team, so they can review it? If yes, please send it to sharewithai@adobe.com and mention the link to this report for fast tracking: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50210919 -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, same here... Oddly enough, if I enable Paint Strokes option — it stays checked when I relaunch. But nothing else.

An error occurred while saving the comment Did you have problems like this with a previous build installed? Can you try to downgrade and check this?
Can you share more details about your PC’s configuration, please, along with a short video of the behavior? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Rachel, that’s odd, because it works for me and I don't recall this reported... Can you show how it works for you? Please record a short video and tell more about you current options chosen: Constrain Angle value, Smart Guides’ settings, etc.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes... Illustrator’s Appearance system doesn’t allow us currently to modify the mixed value, treating a tiniest difference in parameters of the core 3D effect as 'Mixed Appearances', disabling all the controls.
Astute Graphics recently published Live Effect Parameter Editor panel, and it allows to control and overwrite any value of any chosen effect in the selection, despite them having mixed values... alas, it doesn’t support 3D & Materials :(
To make this work, AI team would have to rework the way 'mixed appearances' are treated in general, not only for 3D.

An error occurred while saving the comment I wonder how this should behave if there are more than two documents opened (you can’t just make it 'only for two'). Cycle all the tabs?

An error occurred while saving the comment Does it happen only for Export As or/and Export for Screens (Asset Export) too?
Does it matter if you create an RGB or CMYK intended document? Can you reproduce this with a freshly created project?
Can you try to install Beta build and see if it behaves like this there? What build are you currently using?
Where do you try to save an image: a local drive or network drive? Do you have enough permissions, just in case? -

An error occurred while saving the comment If possible, please package the file you are experience this with (with images preferably), and send to sharewithai@adobe.com (upload it elsewhere if the file is too large, and share the link to it instead), so the team can verify this. An error occurred while saving the comment Another script solution to create guides:
https://github.com/swwwitch/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/readme-en/NewGuideMaker.mdAn error occurred while saving the comment Meanwhile, there is a free script that allows this:

An error occurred while saving the comment You can workaround this by using an action or a template. No need to drag guides manually.
However, I agree that guides should get some improvements, to allow easier setup, like requested here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/41749849An error occurred while saving the comment Hmm, Ben, I know nothing about a Guide Tool in Photoshop.
I am not sure what you mean.
Are you talking about Ps’s View > New Guide / New Guide Layout dialogs? If yes, OK.
Have you tried GuideGuide extension? An error occurred while saving the comment The thing you are talking about is the New Guideline Layout, right? You should have named that to make a reviewer’s life easier.
And yes, great suggestion, Ai should definitely adapt this. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I wish a script could do it, but alas, Ai doesn’t allow scripts to set document units.
Here’s a request you can upvote to make it possible: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48951329

An error occurred while saving the comment There is a beautiful free script made by Sergey Osokin, SelectBySwatches:
https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Select.md#selectbyswatches
Unlike Recolor, it actually selects objects on canvas.
Unlike Select Same, it can work with multiple swatches selected and treat both fills and strokes at the same time. -

An error occurred while saving the comment The problem is back :( PNGs and JPEGs still keep the template layers visible.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dan, it depends of factors I don’t control at all: the vote count (and thus the severity of the problem, evaluated by the team), the availability of engineers, etc.
I confirm it’s been noted by the quality engineering manager, so there is a chance for it to be fixed. Usually the status of the report gets updated when it actually gets attended, and you should get a notification.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, I can confirm this.
The template layer is correctly ignored when exported into PSD or TIFF or TGA, but is baked in when PNG or JPEG are used!
The export method doesn't matter — happens for both Export As and Export Assets.
This is clearly a bug.Dan, thanks a ton for taking your time to report this.
I also attach a simplest test document: only the orange circle should be visible when exported. An error occurred while saving the comment Dan, can you please also share a copy of the file (you can leave only some of the objects there)?
An error occurred while saving the comment I checked this in several older versions, starting with CS1, and it never worked like you said it did.
On the contrary, the Help article (here: helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-documents-printing.html#make_artwork_nonprintable) says clearly (CAPS is mine):
— To prevent artwork from DISPLAYING in the document window, printing, and exporting, HIDE the corresponding items in the Layers panel.
— To prevent artwork from PRINTING, but not from showing on the artboard or exporting, double-click a layer name in the Layers panel. In the Layer Options dialog box, DESELECT THE PRINT option, and click OK. The layer name changes to italics in the Layers panel.
— To create artwork that does NOT PRINT OR EXPORT, even when visible on the artboard, select TEMPLATE in the Layer Options dialog box.'Print' means 'print', not 'export'. Use 'Template' option with 'Dim Images To' option disabled (if you have images in the layer).
Please check this and comment back! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Unclear. Is it a bug report? A request?
What does the History panel show when you check? Do you see the steps being recorded and then rewind? When this happens, does pressing Redo help?
