Thank you for reporting this issue. We’ve attempted to reproduce it on our end, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to observe the same behavior. To help us investigate further, could you please provide the following information?
- Is the issue still consistently reproducible on your end?
- Have you submitted the crash report via the crash reporter dialog, if one appeared?
- Could you share the machine configuration you’re using .
- If possible, a short screen recording demonstrating the issue would be extremely helpful.
Your assistance will help us resolve this faster. Looking forward to your response.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, that’s why I asked about the size. Modern 3D is raster-based, and it has internal limitation on the image size. Larger images get stitched from smaller ones when an object exceeds certain size, but it seems it goes awry with Perspective applied.

An error occurred while saving the comment Creative Cloud Desktop app allows to install older version (within a limit). Open Apps section, find the Installed Apps column at the right side, hover over Illustrator, notice the 'three dots' More Actions button and click; in the menu choose Other Versions, to choose an older build in the dialog. You should be able to choose if you want to keep the other version and the preferences.
Please reply if the behavior differs in the older build. So far Mac users I asked about this say it works fine for them...An error occurred while saving the comment Charles, do you do it like this?
An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t replicate it on Windows 10 with 29.5.1... The objects get duplicated just fine for me :(

An error occurred while saving the comment Does it happen in earlier versions?
Does it happen with files that have less objects? How many object do you have in the document (use Document Info panel in Objects mode, with Selection Only option disabled, to see the statistics).
Do you get a crash reporter dialog when it crashes? Did you send a report, when prompted? If yes — did you use the same email you have here at UserVoice? -

When I try to use vertical text (using Vertical Type Tool) — it goes from top to bottom (an equivalent to LTR)... do you need it to got from bottom to top? -

Does not happen if a fill color is already assigned. Probably is related to the HEX input...

An error occurred while saving the comment Clara, do you still have the problem?
If yes — does this happen in any file, including new ones, or in a specific one?
If a specific one, please open Layers panel, create a new layer and check if the same thing happens in this new layer.
If no — check if the round marker next to the name of the layer that has the problem is filled or hollow.
If it’s filled — it means at some point you targeted the layer by clicking this target marker (no, it’s not Select All in Layer button) and assigned appearance that now affects all artwork in a layer.
Target the layer again by clicking the marker, open Appearance panel and click Clear Appearance button at its bottom.
If you ever need to select all in layer, press a spot right to the Target marker instead, where square markers appear.If it’s not the case at all — please share more details on this.

Please update your Illustrator through Creative Cloud Desktop.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mark, it’s been reported previously here — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49089431 — and then fixed in 29.2.
When I try this in 29.5.1 (on Windows 10 though), it behaves as expected for me: even when not stroke but fill is focused, I can still change the color for stroke when using Control panel...

An error occurred while saving the comment Yasin, from what I see in the GIF (and what I can verify), using the Color Mixer in Control panel for stroke changes the color of the fill instead — am I correct? I fixed the title.

Is the file saved as an .ai document, or is it a .pdf, with Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities option enabled?

An error occurred while saving the comment Raymond, this feels more like an external thing, an OS-level helper rather that built-in function for me.
Windows has ClickLock, MacOS have Drag Lock (can’t test it myself mow, but it’s said it should be somewhere here: Settings → Accessibility → Mouse & Trackpad → Trackpad Options → Enable dragging with Drag Lock).
And actually there are many small apps that offer this today as a separate function with more settings.
Thanks for the request though, perhaps it’s something many would appreciate as a feature form the box. Please comment back if you find Drag Lock working.
Can’t reproduce it on Windows 10. You are on a Mac, I presume?
But what does holding Command does when you draw with Pencil and why holding it?
