An error occurred while saving the comment Indeed, this is something Ai can’t do from the box.
We can enable Smart Guides and fiddle with the imaginary previous position of the handle, but it’s limited anyway.
Voted. However, there are two available methods now to do it:
1. Two free 'Adjust two handles' scripts — https://onthehead.com/ais/path006/ — one for making handles as large as the largest, and another to make them as short.
2. PathScribe paid tool from Astute Graphics — https://docs.astutegraphics.com/vectorscribe/pathscribe-overview#single-handle-operations — when the dedicated option is enabled in the tool’s preferences, Shift-clicking a handle makes it 'equalized' in length. And sure this is something Ai should just allow on its own.
An error occurred while saving the comment Michael, this should exist in Ai from the box, I agree.
But there is a beautiful plugn that does exactly that — PathScribe from AstuteGraphics. It worth every coin they ask for it. While Adobe implements the feature, just don’t wait. It allows to do many more than what you ask :)AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment The VectorFirstAid plugin I mentioned below as a solution operates only with top-level objects. It means if there are objects within a clipping mask that is also outside of an artboard, the plugin will ignore them.
But Sergey Osokin wrote a script, SelectArtboardObjects:
https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Select.md#selectartboardobjects
It allows to select objects inside and outside of the current artboard, including those inside of clipping masks. The process is not lightning fast, but it’s better to have a way to do it automatically, than doing it manually. An error occurred while saving the comment I like this a lot.
Lennert, would you mind me merging this request?
Or do you think that keeping it separate from the artboards would serve the cause better?AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment AlexM, Lance, check out VectorFirstAid plugin by AstuteGraphics.
You can set a checkup there to clear all off-artboard art and run it in a several clicks.
VFA is incredibly powerful when it comes to this mundane operations. This seems like a work that actions can handle... if only Next/Previous Artboard commands could be recorded. So, alas, only scripts or plugins.

An error occurred while saving the comment Can you please check if the latest Beta or the very latest 29.2 behave the same?
There was a certain problem with fonts, reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49111304 — now fixed.
I suspect the one you are experiencing can relate to it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Paige, this happens when your Grave / Tilde key (` / ~) is held... perhaps it got stuck somehow?
Can you please try to press it repeatedly, to make sure it’s not a keyboard problem?
On different keyboards this can be a separate key, but it can be a combination as well: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/how-do-i-use-tilde-key-function-in-illustrator-from-japanese-keyboard/td-p/10791993 -

An error occurred while saving the comment Aubrey, if you still have the file and wish for the problem to be investigated still, please share it with the team — send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com (and put the link to this report in the body of the email, for tracking it back here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/49297334).
Glad it got figured out for you though, I just wish for all to never get the bug in the first place. An error occurred while saving the comment Hm, behaves fine for me... Can copy and type and paste. Can you focus it at all?
Switching away from Ai and back just closes the pseudo-panel... but I’m testing this on Windows. -

An error occurred while saving the comment That is weird... Never heard of it... Please record it if it happens again, yes. Thanks!
An error occurred while saving the comment Just to clarify: when does it happen exactly? Do you choose 'Points' in Preferences > General and it immediately gets changed to 'Picas'? Or do you have to commit the changes first and then they change to picas when you open the dialog again? Or do these change on a new document creation (or an existing document opening)?
I can’t replicate it so far. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Ahsan, please tell more about this.
What are the specs of your computer?
Does it happen with a specific file only or with any one, including brand new documents?
How do the lags look and feel? What specific operations are affected? Can you report a video and/or share a test file?
There is little can be done without anything to test it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Natalie, it’s hard to tell anything without a test file presented.
Would you mind sharing a file? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Norman, have you tried to toggle the Trackpad Gesture to Rotate View option in Preferences > General? Perhaps it interferes with the trackpad...
When I try to use one (with a different laptop though), it works for me.
Then again — you reported this as a Beta bug. Does the normal build have the same problem? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne, does it immediately freeze when the Save As dialog shows up? Or does it go numb only after you try to hit Save?
What happens if you try to access another place / drive (and not the Downloads folder I’m seeing at the screenshot)? Does anything change if you launch Ai as an administrator (if you can do that at all)? Are you able to open an existing file, make changes and save them, bypassing the dialog? -

An error occurred while saving the comment The only connection I can make is by using Save for Web, where we can pick Low / Medium / High / Very High / Maximum presets and get the 0-100 range set to 10 / 30 / 60 / 80 / 100 correspondingly.
I bet it’s safe to conclude these match. And if you are interested, please upvote the request:
It would be great to have more control of the .jpg compression settings in "Export for Screens"

An error occurred while saving the comment Federico, the font is not included into any Adobe app installation and is not available at Adobe Fonts either.
Not sure its being missing is connected to Premiere update though... feels like a coincidence.
The font is often bundled with other apps though, as was discussed here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-fonts-discussions/algerian-font/td-p/14703607
Acquire it elsewhere to solve the problem.
I remember having this at least once on one of them machines... In my case I didn’t have to remove cache lists, simple reboot was enough. When I recheck these, all the items are there in both places, and the files are obviously in place :/
