Hooray, this issue has been fixed in the latest Beta release 29.6.51. Color now gets picked correctly from filled clipping masks now. Please try it and comment back.

Indeed, I can confirm this bug happening in Beta 29.7.0.23 as well.
I ran a test and it seems like it happens only with Smart Guides enabled and only when the clipping path positioned above the clipped contents.
Here’s a test file and the recording of the test.An error occurred while saving the comment A workaround I use is to click the edge of the filled clipping mask — then the value gets picked correctly.

While Ai now allows to get this disabled in Preferences > General, with the "Show 'Print Bleed' generative AI button on Bleed", I personally don’t think it’s a full solution (and won’t close the request).
I think Ai should allow to disable this right there, from this icon, and should not force us to hunt the option in the closet.
I also suggest upvoting this request —
An ability to disable Text to Vector Graphic feature and any other generative options
An error occurred while saving the comment What do you all think about having a section in Preferences to control this and other generative features? It’s a mockup I made, not a real thing.
Photoshop has Neural Filters — to use one, we need to enable one. It also warns about the size of the module (some are rather small though), and I like it asks for 'consent' from us, 'I agree to use this AI-based tech with my data'.
Also, this sections can have the expanded 'Content Aware Defaults' — we have a request for this: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/44156430 — to separate auto-guessing for Crop Image, Puppet Warp and Freeform Gradient into 3 distinct options. Nobody uses the word 'Sensei' now, but these were the first 'let me guess it for you' things Ai made... and they made an option to disable it (not instantly though).

It seems that for some reason Ai can’'t read the native Ai’s (PGF) portion of the file and has to fall back to the PDF part, and fails to import it fully.Can you remember what settings did you use to export these PDFs? Specifically, are you sure you had 'Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities' enabled? Are these yours or someone else’s?
Can you share one of the files that fail to get imported with the team? Add one here in comments or send via sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case mention the link to this report to track it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50083695)You say it happens only with those PDFs that had multiple artboards... does it mean that you actually have some files with only one artboard that gets imported back fine, or is it a guess only?

An error occurred while saving the comment PSD is not native format for Ai, so it doesn’t get 'opened', it’s always 'imported' — and this implies balance between 'editable' and 'looks the same'.
'Convert Layers to Objects' option in Photoshop Import Options dialog (that appears when you try to embed a placed PSD) promises to keep text editable 'when possible' — and sometimes it works... but if you file has some adjustments layers ABOVE text, for example, — Ai would have to rasterize text to try to keep the consistency.
So it depends on a file heavily.As I see it, without a test file it can’t be treated as a bug. If you believe it is — please share it with the team: send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com, or put here publicly in a comment if you are OK with it.

An error occurred while saving the comment ...but why not use the effect then? Apply and expand appearance, quick enough.... you get a similar dialog when applying an effect. Or do you want to control the 'roughness' with the mouse? or is it about the accessibility, one click VS ~3?

My main problem with Wrinkle is that the details it makes are not relative to the path, the angle is absolute.
But I’m not sure I get what you mean still, please elaborate.An error occurred while saving the comment It already has it. It’s called Wrinkle Tool, and its’ usually located within the Warp Tool tool group (if you are using the Advanced tool panel).
Press Enter when the tool is picked to call the tools’ options (this works for almost each tool Ai has).
The difference between the effect and the tool is that an effect is a parametric modification — it gets applied to the whole object, and can later be edited, from the Appearance panel, as a modifier / node. The tool actually modifies a path on canvas, guided by the user input, baking the result immediately.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can guess this is a consequence of the fixed bug live shapes had... when grouped, Ai treated the resulting group as live shape, calculating the size wrong (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/42164089) AND exposing the controls over children as a side effect...
This is controversial... Ai paradigm is 'all children selected means the parent object is selected' (this is why this request exists, to let us see the point controls for a path even when it’s fully selected, — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48962273)
I understand that was useful, but I doubt this can be introduced back... After all, this was not perfect even then — if the selection had any other non-rectangle object within, Ai showed no rectangle-specific controls. And this logic works here — when you select a group, you also have the group itself selected, and it’s not a rectangle :)
What I don’t agree with though — if I isolate a group with only rectangles in it, selecting all inside should show the rectangle-specific controls! Selecting all in a box should mean selecting the box, while we IN the box... So I upvote THIS. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Circumscribed VS Inscribed. One is there and the other one is not...
The workaround that can be used is to convert it to a rectangle instead and apply a Round Corners effect with a large value. Expanding it though won’t give us a real ellipse, and using Object > Shape > Convert to Shape won’t work in most cases (unless the width / height values are truly equal)...
Another solution would be to use the Dynamic Shapes plugin tool, it recognizes these imported circles better.AdminEgor Chistyakov

Are you sure it happens with ANY cloud file?
What would happen if save a local copy of a broken cloud file and reopen it?
