Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Warm Regards,
Ashutosh Chaturvedi | Sr. Quality Engineering Manager – IllustratorAn error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHave this problem all the time. Usually when Mac laptop is put to sleep and waken back up when Illustrator is open.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYes! This is happening more often for me. I think it is the file size or quantity that are causing it. I have had it happen with only a few large files, and also many smaller files open simultaneously. The problem, as you mentioned, is that you can't resolve this without exiting and closing all open files. If there were changes made, you can no longer see any open files to confirm you need to save those changes (only their tabs with a big grey work area, no artboards).
To repeat in my own words in case it makes it easier for Adobe to address...
I have multiple files open. I can switch between each by using their tabs. I open another file. Its tab shows up, but the artboard for the file does not, its like I am stuck on the previous file I was working on. I can click the tab for the new file but I am still seeing the previous open file. Eventually all files display as blank (no artboards, no artwork) but everything still responds. You have to exit Ai all together before it will go back to normal, forcing you to close all open files and HOPE you are saving changes you wanted to save as you can no longer see anything in the work area.System is a MacBook Pro 2015, MacOS 10.14.4, Ai version 23.0.3

This is now possible with Edit > Paste without Formatting command, as per this completed request: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/31954825-paste-with-formatting-cmd-shift-v
Use Ctrl + Alt + V on Windows or Option + Command + V on Mac.
Please comment back if it does not work for you and share details.
Anonymous supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedIs this still not possible? This should have been a function/keyboard shortcut YEARS ago. It is ridiculous to be forced to paste into the Search/Help box as a workaround to convert text to unformatted text.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYes, I came here just to recommend a "send behind/bring in front of overlapping object" but key object makes much more sense.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHow are you unable to reproduce this? It is happening to many users (just see the comments to this).

Hi,
Thanks for the information provided to the Illustrator team.
We are able to reproduce this issue at our end and the engineering team is currently isolating this issue further to get to the root cause. With Best Regards,
Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI have found Google Chrome will sometimes "steal" the ability to type or use your keyboard if you have a Google product open (like Sheets, Gmail, GoogleDocs, etc). Try closing Chrome and opening it up again and seeing if your keyboard inputs respond in all your other apps again.

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

Agree. I have a similar request for there to be an "auto size" artboard to match either the boundaries of the selected objects or mach the boundaries of all objects.
