respondedAdobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins! Dear Illustrator Community, I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application. While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far. Our Approach We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator. It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across… An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Ribeye Design

commentedWhile an object or text block is selected, holding ctrl/cmd and pressing arrow keys to nudge doesn't seem to have any effect. Could this not be used to nudge by a small increment? When you are changing the value of a number within illustrator, the up and down arrows + ctrl/cmd make the number change by a 10th. Could the same not be used for moving an object or text around, maybe a 10th of the set "keyboard increment" to make smaller nudges? It could even be set in the preferences menu how much the ctrl/cmd + nudge increment is.

80 votesAs stated in the article linked below, Pantone’s licensing with Adobe got changed. Due to this change, customers will need to purchase Pantone Connect licenses to access Pantone colors in Adobe Creative Cloud products. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/pantone-color-books-illustrator.html Alas, this is the world today. respondedIn CC 2019 (latest update 23.0.1), at 100% Zoom 1inch artwork would display at 1inch in physical (Print) size, on any display. If this doesn’t work right for screen design workflows, please use the checkbox Preferences > General > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom, to turn off the feature. Currently this feature works only on primary display, and there are plans of extending this to other attached displays. Ribeye Design

255 votesThe most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added. Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them. The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. If you find this odd and want to change it — vote here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/45855823-sync-the-order-of-align-and-distribute-menu-comman Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too. commentedI think the best solution here, that would solve this and many other peoples requests is to make any keys customize as shortcuts for either tools, menu commands or palette commands like pathfinder (without having to include the ctrl/cmd key as you currently require with menu commands.

446 votesStarting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this. Ribeye Design

commentedA lot of the "Tools" shortcut keys that use a single button, I don't use (and probably quite a few other people). People who work with Illustrator most likely use a specific amount of shortcuts, often. Being able to use a single key like F or Y or N to be something more useful like Expand, etc would be great!

commentedI have wanted this feature for years, would be very handy and time saving.

Yes agreed, this should be the only feature to focus on. We don't need any of these useless little updates to unimportant tools. Personally being on a low income, combined with witnessing all these important issues that go unresolved for years, I am changing to affinity designer this month.
