  1. Document unit preferences saved within AI file (type, dimensions, outline).

When working simulteaneously on artworks for web & print - you have to switch now units each time switching documents.
Often when preparing artwork for different outputs/purposes.
Usually/often (always?) unit preferences are DOCUMENT SPECIFIC.

  2. XMP Meta Data、MM:History

  3. Remove (customize) tiny shadow behind artboards

I've noticed this for years... whenever I create a new document in Illustrator--no matter the size or mode and without any bleed settings, the artboard has a tiny grey "drop shadow" behind the artboard. See ATTACHED. It does not affect art and never prints, but more times than I can count I've found myself zooming in and attempting to select/delete it, thinking I left some sort of unwanted element behind while I was working. Or I see the faint "border" and think my graphic elements aren't fully aligned to the page edge, when the actually are.

  4. Find and Replace as a panel (palette)

Does it no longer have to be in pallet form for FIND & REPLACE? Even list the past wanted. I think you should think about it. You can take an example from the ExtendScript Toolkit (ESTK) (as in the video). Because Adobe did it. I want to remind:)

  5. Could the Width Tool scale Pattern Brush tiles proportionately instead of squeezing them down distortingly?

    Greetings!

I'm not sure, if this feature is already there (would be grateful for a response if it already is!). I googled, didn't find anything. It's also too many keywords...

So. The width tool can varyingly alter the width of a stroke to which a pattern brush is applied to. What I have been struggling with, is that, the width tool only squeezes the pattern tiles perpendicular to the spine of the stroke, and thus distorting the proportions and original composition of the pattern tile itself.

Is there a way to perhaps, distort the tiles in a manner that they…

  6. Different Customizable Shape Gradient Constraints

Much like the flexibility of the radial gradient feature, it would be incredibly helpful to have a similar tool to make gradients, but one that does not constrain you to a circle or ellipse. Yes, AI provides the freeform gradient tool and the gradient mesh tool, but these are often a little finicky and time consuming to use. One can also use the blend tool to attempt a freeform gradient. All of these are far too complicated for creating such simple gradients. I propose that a customizable shape gradient tool is implemented. Like the other gradient tools, one would create…

  7. Make Preferences user friendly

These are various recommendation to simplify preferences in all Adobe Applications.

    • list groupings (i. e. General, Type, etc.) in alphabetical order
    • or list groupings in logical order; example for the first three — General, User Interface, Performance...
    • re-review all preference settings and reduce or simplify (Slices has two options?)
    • incorporate a Search function to provide the user the ability to quickly locate a specific preference (refer to Apple's System Preferences Search capability) — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/50114196
    • make preference category lists universal in title and order for all Adobe applications when possible

The reason is, I wish to…

  8. LTR Digits for Middle East Settings

In Arabic text, letters are RTL, but digits are LTR. There's no way to use multiple character styles within one paragraph, you can only set the text direction to the entire paragraph. To make the attached, I had to set the language of the digits to English and type the number in backwards (e.g. for 300g, I have typed it in as 003 for it to show like that, which requires a lot of concentration!!)

  12. Display Workspace Name in Application Header

The workspace switcher in the application header used to show you the name of the workspace you were currently in, it seems like it has now been replaced with only an icon. Would be great if we could bring back the workspace name, as I like to know what workspace I am working in, also there is plenty of room and a larger button target couldn't hurt. I could see it as simple as being able to pull the vertcle rule over to the left if users wanted the "expanded" workspace button vs just the icon.

  13. Just fix the issues

My app is laggy at times , when I erase a stroke , the precious stroke sometimes stays . When I go layer to layer to layer it’ll stay frozen on the previous layers actions .

  14. Similar to Flux Eyedropper Tool Plugin for Adobe InDesign

A tool like Flux Eyedropper Tool for Illustrator would be a game change for faster workflow. I use this for Indesign it's a serious game changer.

    https://www.fluxconsulting.com/software/

    Instructions and user flow:
    1. Hold down the Control + Option keys, then release the Control key.
    2. Use the Eyedropper tool as you wish.
    3. Release the Option key to return to the tool you were using.

  15. Allow Magic Wand to select items only currently visible in the viewport

it would be super helpful if the Magic Wand could be set to only select what you can see on screen currently. This way you won't accidentally select an item without knowing.

  17. Vector Networks Like Figma Has

In illustrator vector shapes can only go in one continuous path. If you wanted to draw a cube, it would take 3 shapes, perfectly aligned and 12 points, 6 of which would overlap.
In a vector network a point can have multiple branches meaning that a cube could be one shape, with only 7 points (see image).
This feature would eliminate the need for complex shape overlays to create simple compositions, like a cube.

  18. An option to select only points in paths with a hotkey, lines are ignored

In a sea of lines and points an option to select only points could be a solution for more speedy and accurately selecting what you want.

Let's say I have a lot of lines next to some points you want to select, wouldn't it be cool to hold a hotkey and dragging across the screen even over the lines and just selecting the points you wanted, not the lines?

Selecting only lines, not the points could also have benefits, although I havent had the need yet.

  19. Give aligning options for Text on Path tool.

When using the Text on Path tool, it would be nice to have alignment/distribution options.
Aligning the first and last letter, center at top or bottom, and fit text around a shape.
They way it is now, you have to drop guides and align and distribute the text so that it is even.
It would be wonderful also to use the dropper tool to apply the alignment to new text. For instance, if I have an emblem and need to wrap several different texts around it, then once I have one the way I like I could easily apply that…

Layers would speed up to workflow when you don't have to switch workspaces so often.

Tap or rotate gesture for rotate to original view would also speed up the workflow.
