1. STRUMENTO CONTAGOCCE E TESTI DI COLORE DIVERSO NELLO STESSO BOX

   Ho un box di testo con alcuni caratteri rossi ed alcuni caratteri neri.
   Voglio copiare tutte le specifiche di testo (font, ecc.) da un altro blocco di testo con lo strumento contagocce senza modificare i colori del box di destinazione.
   Vedo che dallo strumento contagocce ci sarebbe la possibilità di escludere/includere il rilevamento del colore, ma quando si applica al box di destinazione tutto il testo contenuto diventa di un unico colore....

2. tabs and text options

   Tabulations should be embedded in the tex box and appear only when you press on the box and disappears when you click somewhere else. By default, it should also resize and follow the tex box on screen at all time without requiring you to click on the magnet to put it back where it belong.

   Also, the text options of Illustrator are lacking some very useful options that only exist in InDesign. I understand that Indesign is THE BIG SOFTWARE FOR TEXT, but honestly for smaller text oriented documents, I often use Illustrator because it's faster to operate. So, some features exclusive to InDesign should be ported to Illustrator like the possibility to create quick bullet points and to change the space between the border of the box and the text. Good job though for recently adding vertical alignement 😉 .

3. Alt+drag to duplicate multiple spline knots and segments

   Up until the Illustrator 23.1.1 update, splines with overlapping knots and multiple selected spline segments could be duplicated easily by:

   1) using the "A" select tool to select individual knots or segments of a path,
   2) region-dragging to select several knots,
   3) begin dragging then quickly hold down the ALT key before releasing
   This would duplicate the knot and it's connected and the newly created connected segments. If only segments were selected, then the new segments were created while dragging, <important!> keeping their anchor knots where they originated at either end of the spline. It was a very efficient tool and interaction.

   In an update after 23.1.1, this was changed so that behavior now only works on an individual knot on a single path. The ability to alt+drag a spline segment while maintaining their end-points is completely disabled and will move the entire segment, not just the weights of the spline segment.

   If more than one knot is selected on a path, or multiple paths, the behavior changes so that the entire path becomes selected, duplicates and follows the cursor. It is identical to how the "V" selection tool would duplicate a path using the ALT+Drag method.

   Now there is no way to get the efficiency of duplicating multiple selected knots and/or spline segments by dragging them to a new location. This may be an oversight because the "A" select tool has always been able to maintain sub-path selections during the drag duplicate event and has been the intent of that selection tool for 30+ years. Please up vote to help bring back this functionality!

4. Resize Images Shortcut

   When resizing images or objects, there should be a way to constantly have things stay proportionate without having to hold down shift the entire time. I would suggest the caps lock key since it carries the same function when typing out letters.

5. symbol marker in preview and outline view

   I'd like to see a symbol "marker" of some sort to quickly identify symbols used on a layout, much like the pilcrow and other typographic characters used in InDesign (that can be turned On or Off). These "markers" should be visible in both Preview and Outline views. Thanks. A.C.

6. Image Trace results have deteriorated over the years, detail is lost and line work looks terrible!

   I’m a full time illustrator and have been using Adobe Illustrator since the launch of CS - so it’s been years :) I LOVE the app, in fact it’s how I make my living as an illustrator and the app features have contributed to my style development and workflow.

   Which brings me to the feedback I’d like to give regarding the Image Trace tool. My illustration style is a mixture of hand crafted, grungy texture and flat colour. I achieve this by creating pencil on paper line work, scanning then I image trace in Adobe Illustrator to vectorize. BUT, I try and retain the hand sketched pencil look as much as possible when converting, this is very important to my overall look and style as an illustrator and it’s one of the reasons clients and customers buy from me.

   What’s concerning me is over the years the Image Trace results and settings have changed to the point where I’ve struggling to retain the grungy details of my sketches. With each update to Adobe Illustrator, it seems that Image Trace is “smoothing” out the results more and more, despite the settings.

   It’s become so “bad” (I say bad because it’s bad for my style of work, but obviously it’s not “bad” if you want a smoother trace) that I’m forced to use an older version of Adobe Illustrator to do all my Image Tracing - I have to run an older OS on my laptop in order to keep CS5 going.

   I’ve included results from CS5 tracing and the latest CC version. You’ll notice how Adobe Illustrator has picked up all the lovely grungy details in CS5 tracing and lost a lot in the CC version despite the settings set to the max to pick up the noise and detail.

   I’d love the team at Adobe to really consider users who need to trace work of this nature and allow more detail when tracing, like the older versions of Adobe Illustrator did. I’m truly concerned that I will need to change my style and workflow as the tool I use is not what it use to be and the results are just not up to scratch for my style of work.

   Would this be something Adobe would consider going forward?

   This method and style of illustration is on the increase and many Adobe Illustrator users are looking to make their vectors look more hand drawn. I just thought it was important to let you know from a longtime user that this feature seems to be declining in it’s ability.

8. Would it be possible to have the find font panel be in alphabetical order, like Indesign is?

   alphabetical order of fonts in the find font list, would make comparing the fonts used to an outside folder of fonts much easier.

9. Magic Grid

   Hi!

   I would like to have a new tool: a kind of semi-elastic placement aid. Our team designs packagings and often has to adapt layouts to new die cuts, so objects often have to be moved, but must not change in size themselves. Sometimes a logo exists in three different sizes, which must be chosen depending on the total height. In addition, they must adhere to minimum distances, which may also not be scaled. However, the design often follows a grid, e.g. a logo must be on the vertical at 5/13 of the total height. So I imagine a kind of grid that, when scaled, adheres to a set of rules. With options if and how as well as how far something is scaled or not.
   Although this is all logical and mathematical, we currently have to create it manually. A new "magic grid" would be a great help here.

10. Remove the 'Drawing Area' (dark grey area behind artboards)

    The 'drawing area' behind artboards limits where you can place items (especially masked items that fall off this area), it limits the number of artboards, and limits how freely and where I can place multiple artboards. It also has no purpose at all as far as I can see.

11. Please a "Center to page" in the MENU BAR. And...

    Centering objects to page requires several steps... Many times in design, one needs to center an object to the page. by having that action in menu bar it can be done very quickly and efficiently. It can also be in the RIGHT click drop menu.

    This can be done by clicking [Normal Character/Paragraph Styles] items in Character / Paragraph Styles panels (Window > Type >). These styles are also redefinable.

13. Easily move large number of swatches into a CC Library

    Companies offer free downloads of their color libraries, typically over 1000 individual color swatches. Currently, each swatch has to be moved one-by-one into a library. It's extremely time consuming and tedious. I have talked to numerous customer service agents and there is no satisfactory work around.

    Create an easy way to transfer numerous color swatches at once into a library (which allows for use of the search bar feature). Using CCD > your work > upload does not work either.

14. Line Segment Tool to respect selected Graphic Style by default

    Currently, if I have a certain Graphic Style selected, it gets applied to objects created with Pen Tool or all shape-drawing tools (Ellipse, Rectangle, Polygon, Star).
    This doesn’t work this way with line-drawing tools (Line Segment, Arc, Spiral, Grids…). Or rather it does, only if the “Fill Line” option is turned ON in the Tool Options window. It is turned OFF by default though AND this setting is not sticky between sessions.
    So with every new session, I’m back to behavior when a chosen graphic style is not applied to an object drawn with a Line Segment Tool.

    It seems to work in the latest Beta 29.5.0.15, the Curvature Tool now respects Smart Guides. The position quantization for new points is still there, and these two snaps seem to fight, but it is usable finally. Please test it and provide some feedback.

16. Create Droplets like in Photoshop

    Illustrator has actions and even a "Batch" for actions. However doesn't seem to be a "Create Droplet" option like Photoshop.

    This would be very useful for people who need to do repetitive tasks (in my case a quick and dirty Image Trace on multiple files very often)

17. Ability to rotate an image 90 degrees when exported for screens

    Having the ability to rotate an image 90 degrees when exported for screens would save a step when saving some art for the web.

    Some artwork with text is saved built so the type is horizontal for ease of typing/reading. Current exports require the art to be built and then rotated 90 degrees in Photoshop.

    It is a small nice improvement for Illustrator.

19. Add pattern filled object to swatch box to create a new pattern

    This is very essential for the fashion industry.

    As of now, it's not possible to create a seamless pattern with a pattern filled object and add it as a swatch.

    We either have to expand the filled object or rasterize the pattern filled object to able to add to the swatch box. It's hindering because we can't recolor easily.
    This option should be added.
