Bug report form for illustrator should accept SVG attachments
It's very difficult to share SVG bugs with you guys if your bug report form wont accept SVG. Couldn't even 7s it.
I know this is not an Illustrator bug, but I have an illustrator bug which I can't report because your bug reporter is configured poorly. So that's why I am reporting it under this category. Please pass it on to the appropriate people on your web team.

Imported SVG path elements - always black fill
I am using the latest version of AI (early 2019).
I notice that SVG path elements often lose their fill color. (They are always black.)
Have not been able to pin down the exact circumstances where this fails, but I am attaching a bare bones file which exhibits the issue clearly.
This file displays perfectly in (e.g.) chrome. There's a red and a green filled path.
But when importing the SVG to AI, the 'red' path loses its fill and becomes black. The green fill is honored on input. I can't see any meaningful difference between the way the fill…

Line snapping to existing line overlapping it
Currently you can snap an anchor point onto a path or other anchor point. I would like to move a straight path/line, or rotate it, and have it snap onto an existing straight paths angle...right now I’m going into Ctrl+Y view to try and align the two lines but its tedious especially when doing this a lot in my design work...

In Illustrator touch work space being able to change what is is on the toolbars.
I use the touch workspace alot and i would find it would be gret if i could edit the toolbar. adding eyedroper and even a limited layers pane.

Make guides to be like in InDesign
Certain features of the guides are very disturbing. The fact that the guides are movable in the counter intuitive directions (horizontal guides can also be moved sidewise and vice versa) create situations when "objects" are being moved out of the canvas, which prevents curtain actions. Basically, the fact that guides behave like objects is a problem. Guides always get mistakenly grouped with objects, which leads to deleting objects when attempting to delete guides. Guides are being copied with objects when objects are chosen in hide guides mode - bad news. The feature of being able to align guides with objects…

As Illustrator work with Vector files. Vector graphics are computer graphics images that are defined in terms of 2D points. They can be scaled to a bigger size.

Allow the existing file to remain active when using "Save as"
When working in AI in a native file format, then saving as a different file format (ie PDF), the new file format is now the active file. In InDesign and PS, when you "Save as," your new file is saved in a folder but you are still able to continue working on your native ID or PSD file. I wish Illustrator would work this way, too. Or am I missing something in settings to fix this?

Updating to 2019 makes illustrator useless - downloads tons of data upon saving a file
My workflow requires opening and saving AI files with large linked pictures, stored on off-site server with low bandwidth (around 5-6 MB/s). The linked files can be big, several GB in size. When I try to save my AI, it freezes and starts downloading at full speed of the off-site storage and downloads 2-3GB of data before it saves the AI. None of previous versions had this issue/feature. It is a big deal for our company, because we work approximately 1 hour on each AI and now just saving it takes 5-10min. We need to open the AI (sometimes it…

Let us Favourite fonts during font search
Right now you can favourite fonts, but only during browsing fonts normally. If you search for fonts there is no favourite column in the results.

Add dropdown with blending modes to transparency block in Properties panel
Please add a dropdown with blending mode to transparency properties panel. This will make it easier to see what transparency mode is applied to an object by just having it selected. It will also make it slightly quicker to change transparency modes on objects. See attached image for a mockup.

Make live hint with color values for the Eyedropper tool
Right now clicking with Eyedropper results in a blind result: until it's clicked, there is no way to predict what will be picked exactly. Why not to show properties to be picked in floating thingy next to the cursor? PS does it great in separate panel, why AI can't steal that?

Improve thumbnail functionality and allow them to be turned off in Pattern Maker Window
While layers, groups, and paths offer you the ability to shut off thumbnails, Pattern Maker does not. As it is a live preview of what you're currently editing, it can slow things down quite drastically, even to select 1 item in the swatch with complex patterns. Often I have to shutoff layer thumbnails since they rerender the thumb for every revision, and would like the same functionality for Pattern Maker. Swatch thumbnails don't seem to be an issue and it would appear they only update once the changes are saved. Since there are many options for bricking, and tiling, it's…

Keyboard Command for Expanding Objects
Please. It's so much more intuitive to press ctrl/cmd+a and expand using the keyboard. I work with other peoples files all the time so being able to easily expand their files to make them work is critical.
3 votesYou can assign your own hotkeys via Edit > Keyboard shortcuts, including Object > Expand, Expand Appearance, and object-specific Expand commands (Blend, Shape, Envelope, etc.)

Drag .otf or .ttf file into illustrator and it appears as a lorum ipsum text box on your artboard
Not sure if this is possible but how great would it be if you could drag a .otf or .ttf file (font) into illustrator and it automatically processed as a lorum ipsum text box.

Tool for understanding storage size (bytes in file/memory) of single object or group of ojbects in document
Often Illustrator file size have very large size. And Illustrator interface at now provide no ways for understand, which objects englarge file size, and how to reduce the size.
Main question is for embedded objects (pixel images) - before embedding we can see file size, but after embedding - fields in panel becomes empty! Why?
So, please fix, at first, showing info about embedded images in Links panel, and next - create some tool for review size of currently selected group of objects.

Regression: Illustrator CC saves each instance of symbol in .ai file separately
How to reproduce this problem in Illustrator СС:
Create clean AI file with A4 page.
Place any pixel image (with size ~10 mb) embedded to this page. Save file, it will have size about ~10 mb)
Make this image as symbol and remove object from page.
Place symbol to page one time.
Save file. File size will be, eg, ~10 mb.
Now place same symbol to page more 4 times, total will be 5 images on page.
Save file and check size - it will be increased to ~50 mb.
As result, you will have ai file, containing only 5…
