  1. Please allow the width of the Info Panel to be adjustable.

    I believe users around the world would prefer to keep palettes as compact as possible in order to maximize the display area for their artwork.
    However, the "Info Palette," which is frequently referenced, is too wide, and when docked, it dictates the overall width of the palette area.
    I would greatly appreciate it if the Info Palette could be made more compact—perhaps by allowing a vertical layout or similar adjustments.

  2. Editable text in dimensions

    Please let designer edit the text inside the dimensions. Sometimes for mockup purpose is not possible to set a proper scale and if you place a dimension obviously the size has to be changed. Now you need to expand the aspect to let the text be editable. It would be great if the text can be editable by default.
    There is no worries for people with right scales since the value will be correct, but it will be a smart edit for others who have to change it.

    I would like it to be possible to edit the text in vertical format, I explain.

    I have a text in horizontal format which I can modify in every possible way, but I am working on a project that uses a custom typography and requires vertical writing, the problem is that when changing to vertical format the writing direction changes from right to left.

    the idea is that the reader can read from top to bottom, but in the same direction from left to right.

  4. Please add a way for the Pencil tool to display the edge of the drawn line when needed with Live Feedback enabled

    If we enable Live Preview but have no stroke or fill chosen, drawing on canvas shows nothing. Very useful.
    What if in this case you make the edge line visible instead, the one we see when we disable Live Preview? 'Graceful degradation' in a sense — take a look at the GIF attached.
    It’s even more complicated than this. Imaging white stroke on white canvas :) Formally it’s a color, but practically...
    Having an option to have edge always visible can help, but it’d be another option...

  5. Allow Illustrator documents to re-link to its shared-for-review Creative Cloud document if the link becomes broken

    Sometimes a document that's been shared for review through the Creative Cloud will lose its connection to the local file. Sometimes because you've tried to create a new iteration, renamed the file, or sometimes it just happens for unknown reasons. When this occurs, it would be helpful to be able to reconnect them so that the review process continues with the same link to the end of the project.   6. I would love to see a "temporary canvas" or "temporary file" feature added to illustrator

    I often find myself creating temporary documents that I end up deleting after doing whatever I need to do in Illustrator before bringing over to InDesign or some other application. It'd be so nice to start a "Quick Canvas" or something that has the full functionality of Illustrator, but it instead acts as a notepad that can either auto-save to the cloud or just delete itself after using.

  7. Toggling left click mode

    Can we have a toggle feature that controls left-click on and off by just clicking once for activation and once again for deactivation? I think it would be a cool idea to add this as an option because it would allow a default trackpad to be a more accessible tool for longer drawing projects (ie. blob brush work) without exhausting your fingers. Makes the overall program more accessible, too. I would rather be clicking once than holding and dragging my finger on the trackpad. I got the idea from video games that have toggle buttons for lots of monotonous tasks.

  8. Align By and Align To separate per object aligned

    Current alignment in Illustrator is barely sufficient. I should be able to align any object or path by any point to any object or path by any point.

    Perhaps if you created an alignment tool that allows us to select not only the alignment objects, but the points for each object to align by then your alignment methods would be so much more robust.

    Using the align tool would create a list of alignment participants on a slide-out panel. When selecting an element to align, you would pick from one of the 9 reference points or click anywhere on the…

  9. Centralized Notification History

    Currently, Notifications are eliminated when cleared. This is a problem if you accidentally clear a notification that you want to read later. Often a Notification can be a reference for something that you forgot that hasn't been documented yet.

    Please resolve this issue by making Notifications like e-mail, where you have read notifications and unread notifications. This allows us to manually delete notifications at our convenience, but refer back to them when needed.

    Either that or allow us to bookmark notifications for later use. This would require an entire Bookmarking system and seems a little much when you already have…

  11. Thumbnails in Layers always show full previews even when outline mode for the layer is toggled

    This is relatively new within recent Ai upgrades.

    Can we please revert back to preview mode ONLY for layer thumbnails regardless of how we view the layer on the artboard. This was changed recently. Why? If you choose to make changes like this, please make it an optional preference, as long time users probably don't like these changes.

  12. Share for Review - Ability for teams to update links

    Currently in InDesign and Illustrator, the person that created a review link is the only one able to update the review link. There are times when another person on my team needs to update a file and send an updated review link, but to do so, they have to create a copy of the file and make a brand new link. This is a bit tedious and doesn't keep the history of comments, which we sometimes need to refer back to. I would like to suggest the ability to allow teams on Create Cloud to be able to work on…

  13. Add ability to sort or reorder Objects on Path

    Love the align to path tool. It has made things so much easier.

    One suggestion, however, would be to rearrange the order of elements you aligned. Ideally, you would allow us to sort elements and give certain properties like HUE, Transparency, Size, Rotation, and then we could easily make things like fading shapes to signify movement or just by size where the bigger things were aligned at the end.

    You could even make a series of tools like the Symbol Sprayer tools that let you manipulate the pieces on the path by spreading in areas and shrinking areas. Resizing or…

  15. Make Split into Grid to create warped grids based on shape if needed

    Split to Grid should learn how to split into more than just squares. Look at your Mesh tool, it obviously knows how to split different shapes, just move that code to the split tool would make it about 329983% more useful.

    Can we get additional features to handle Preview Only Text?

    • A Highlight Preview Only text feature similar to the Highlight Substituted Fonts Preference?

    • A Outline Preview Only text button or preference?

  17. There is no documentation for the vector effects in the Effect menu. Write some, please.

    There's three major sections to the Effect menu: Illustrator Effects, Photoshop Effects, and Additional Effects.

    Additional Effects is the domain of plug-in effects, and properly documenting these is of course in the hands of whoever wrote the plug-in.

    Enable artboards to be rotated individually. Simple. Here's an example of my currently workflow: if I have a large map with a winding road in illustrator, and I want each of my 5 artboards to be aligned with that road, I have to make rectangles where I wish the artboards could be, and then make the actual artboards encompass the rectangle. Then I export as an image, and rotate and crop in Photoshop to match the rectangle.
