  1. Allow to use raster images with Mockup

    (Not sure exactly what category this request falls under...) The mockup tool as it is now is pretty limiting. If you have a raster image as part of what you want to mock up, the mockup tool doesn't work. I design food packaging, most of which has an image of the item in the package. Being able to mock up packages that include images would be a godsend!

    (And if anyone has a workaround, please share! I use the legacy 3d tool for cylindrical objects. But for things like pouches I haven't figured a way to do it. Thanks.)

  2. Allow to include gradients and patterns in Swatch Info objects

    These ARE swatches, after all.
    If we have these selected, we expect to have cards for these. The cards for these can state which colors were used in them.

  3. Don’t force creating a dedicated layer for Swatch Info objects

    When we create a Swatch Info object, a new layer named 'Swatch Info Layer' gets created automatically. I don’t need it. I want to be able to choose if I need this layer, and what name it should use. My layer structure is something I prefer to have control over, and the way Ai thinks I need to have a singular group this creates in a separate layer is insulting.

    Same goes for Dimensions — why do you think I mustn’t choose the layer’s name?

  4. Add Preview option when creating a Swatch Info object

    When we create a Swatch Info object, using a dedicated command from the Swatches panel’s menu, the dialog is missing Preview option we can enable and see how the parameters work in real-time.

  5. Allow to specify the bevel parameters for objects extruded with 3D & Materials Extrude & Bevel in absolute units instead of a relative value

    The way that Illustrator adds the bevels is weird.
    Height = 50%. 50% of what? If I'm working in inches and I have a 10" x 10" object that I've extruded 1", I should know that I want the bevel to be 0.125", adding ⅛" to my 1" height. Being able to put in 0.125" as my bevel height would make more sense.
    If I have an object that I want to extrude 1", then it is really important that I know it is 1". However, if I extrude the object and then apply a bevel, Illustrator begins to add…

  6. Type Automation/Modulation Tool

    A automation/modulation tool allows type to be edited based off different parameters. (ex. typewriter function that allows more ink bleed onto random letters on a body of type). Similar to music production automation/modulation in that there would be values from 0-100 and then those settings could have a parameters (ex. setting the bounds of the automation from value of 80-100 and then having the ability to randomize that automation between those values). The highlighted text that needs automation/modulation would have a separate window with a linear grid to adjust each individual character and a drop down menu of what parameter…

  7. Frescoの「連続する範囲内を塗り」を追加して欲しい。

    ライブペイントではなく、塗りブラシのまま直感的に必要な範囲だけ塗りたい。

    これが出来ない＆やりづらい為に他社のツールを利用せざる負えないケースが増えた。

  8. Dimensions Tool 3 Improvements

    1- Make dimensions styles saved with your artworks. So when you open different artworks at different scales, it remembers "by default" just like color mode or artwork size.

    2- Have dimensions presents to be saveable and loadable.

    2- When you update dimensions styles, have a button "update artwork" that will automatically update, if we choose so, existing dimensions placed in the artwork. Therefor we don't need to re-trace everything.

  9. Able to specify triangle inner angles

    Would it be possible to have an 'advanced' triangle dialogue box where you can specify the angles?. I often need to use this for creating conical cutter guides – I know I can use the rotate tool and use strokes, but feels like it could be much easier as it's very long-winded.

  11. Allow other units of measurement for “Tolerance” and “Snap to Point” settings (Selection & Anchor Display)

    For the “Tolerance” and “Snap to Point” settings in “Illustrator > Settings… > Selection & Anchor Display… > Selection,” it would be very helpful if other units of measurement, with a specific request for millimeters (mm), could be specified. Currently, the only option is a integer “px” (pixel) value, which is not precise enough for some of the high-precision work that our teams perform.

  12. Simplifying Object Size Adjustments

    Please make it easier (again) to change the size of objects. I'm not sure whether it's a bug in the new version or a new "feature," but it would be much easier if I could just click on an object and then click and pull on the edge to change its height or width.

    I mean, yes, it's possible to use the direct selection tool and select the corners to change it, but as soon as this object (for example, a square) is slightly rotated, it's hard to keep the object straight while changing its "height" (it's not really the…

  13. Rotation of Subset of Shape Anchor Points via Direct Select

    Once you select multiple anchors on a path (but not all of them) you should be able to rotate only those anchors. Currently it's possible to move the anchors but not rotate them.
    Ex: You have a path creating a shape of a full body silhouette of a person with the face in profile. The face is looking straight left. You want to adjust the face to be looking more upward.   14. Gradient Tools Lack Customizability

    For a $20/month program, it's really frustrating that I've tested it's limited capabilities multiple times.
    1. Radial gradient: Should have the option to be deformed to shape. For instance, if I wanted a butterfly shaped radial gradient, the radial gradient should be able to act more like a proportional subdivision.   15. Add color to toolbar icons.

    The new 'Objects on a Path' tool has brought color to the toolbar. It now stands out a lot.

    I have a bunch of plugins that add tools to the toolbar, and have a bunch of cryptic monochromatic icons. Perhaps it is time for both Adobe and plugin developers to bring some color to the toolbar so we have one more thing to help us remember which extremely specialized tool we use once in a blue moon is which?

  16. Double-click with Direct Selection to enter Isolation mode.

    You can only enter Isolation mode by double-clicking with the Selection tool. Why doesn't the Direct Selection tool work for this? Or the Group Selection tool, for that matter? Was there ever even an explicit design decision made that only the Selection tool should be able to do this?

    I do the vast majority of my selecting with the Direct Selection tool, and about 50% of the time when I want to isolate something I just try double-clicking on it with the arrow-shaped tool I'm currently using, and grumble because it doesn't work, and hit the hotkey for the unloved…

  17. Allow more modeling options for 3D extrusions

    Give us more extrusion options. It's crazy that you can make a cylinder, but no possible way to make cuts through. I have attached examples to where I made the type of structure I'd need in Blender. In AI you can create a cylinder but no way to make holes through the structure. You can do this with an extruded rectangle but not cylindrical objects.

  18. Display color values for named swatches when hovering

    Illustrator automatically names swatches by their color values and displays these names when we hover over swatches in panels.
    But if we rename a swatch, Illustrator displays just the name, but not the color formula.
    InDesign does the opposite — always shows the color values when we hover, but not the name.

    I’d like to see both. Yes, I know that for the automatically named swatches it’d mean both the name made of values will be displayed along with the actual values... but you can solve it with the InDesign’s 'Name with Color Value' option for swatches.

  19. Make it possible to select objects using a path.

    It would be very useful to be able select individual objects in a document using a path which touches each of those objects or lies entirely within the path, or both, with each option being selectable by the user.

  20. Bigger variety of basic finishes for 3D materials: high gloss, matte, shiny metallic, matte, etc.

    Would be great to have better material adjustment tools — the 'metallic' slider doesn't really do very much except make the colour dull, would love to make it super vibrant metallic finish. A lot of the materials in Substance don't allow colour editing or more than one colour so this makes it really limited. Would love to achieve a bigger variety of basic finishes e.g. high gloss, matte, shiny metallic or matte.

    Would also love to have more extrusion options, it's crazy that you can make a cylinder but no possible way to make cuts through. I don't want to…
