  1. Previous versions of illustrator showed the id of individual elements within layers in the layers window

    Previous versions of Illustrator would show the id of individual elements within layers in the layers window. Now they just show as "path" or "compound path." I generate maps as svg files from a database with a program of my own design and then import them into Illustrator for final editing. Sometimes there is a problem with one or more elements. Before I could go to Illustrator, select the problem element, and see in the layers window what its id was. Then I could go to my database and fix the problem. I can't do this anymore.   2. Preserve the transparency (opacity %) when a file is exported.

    If I want to create overlays (think of Instagram filters), I want to be able to preserve the opacity %. So that I can take this overlay and place it over other images.
    The way it works currently is if I export the object and place it on another image, all the transparency is lost and the object is set to 100% opacity.

  3. Please make cursor track wider when moving to selection list menus

    On a laptop, the Illustrator screen is very detailed. The screenshot shows how, when object>transform has been selected, it is necessary to hold down the mouse button and slide the mouse so that the cursor is guided down a very narrow blue track. If you stray off after careful steering to almost the end, you have to start again. Why not make the blue track much wider, so that you do not have to exert such close manual control? You could , for example, make the track expand in width as it extends from the start box to the end…

  5. Adobe Stock info available in-app

    It would be really helpful to have access in-app to complete information for Adobe Stock Assets, especially the content creator, so that I can credit the image properly in my work. Perhaps a re-tool of the info available in the Libraries panel would be the best way, or even an "i" icon over the image next to the purchase icon?

    I did this years ago.
    You still can't.

  7. Simplify the Color Panels

    Why are there so many different panels in Illustrator for working with colors? The color-making panels in InDesign are so much simpler than Illustrator. It's super cumbersome and reminds me of trying to design something in MS Word. Simplify please. Make it like InDesign.

  10. Suddenly Crashing and then Reopening with a Text Import Options pop up. Please fix. What is going on?

    There are many instances mentioned on the web of illustrator file suddenly crashing and a text import options pop up appearing when you try to reopen. The file is then blank. It doesn't matter how many times you have saved it. There is nothing in layers. Please fix

  11. Non esiste la possibilità di ri-utilizzare un file .ai in adobe Draw. Questo è un problema!

    Nel caso capiti di perdere o sovrascrivere un file creativo online (nel Cloud) dell'App Adobe Draw e si avesse solo l'esportazione del progetto in Illustrator (.ai), non esiste la possibilità di poter ritornare a lavorarci in Adobe Draw! Non esiste un file di scambio al contrario cioè da Illustrator a Draw! Questo può rappresentare un problema serio!

  13. view Anchor Points

    View Anchor Points selection under the view tab. I'd like to see Anchor Points anytime I click on an object if I have this view selected, not just a barely there blue line that is hard to tell what is clicked as it currently is when you select Show Edges under the view tab.

  16. CGM Import

    Enable Ai to import CGMs that have Active X controls. I export CGMs from an IETM, but do not need to retain the embedded links within the CGM file. Allow Ai to import Active X CGMs and disable Active X. May want to display popup window stating Active X will be lost unless save imported CGM as a new file.

    Star tool, Arc Tool, should have properties to change after drawing like the rectangle tool and the Polygon tool.

  18. When I try to type something it is shown with some prepared text

    When i try to click the T button to create new text, it is shown already made some text example with a tag. This tag is hidden and if I click "show hidden character" it is shown with #.
    Can I start with completely blind text function without this suggested pre-made alphabet arrangement looks like some word (but doesn't make sense, it is just look like preview of the text)?

    The # symbol marks is included into any text at all, to help designers to see where text ends. There are other hidden characters that mark column breaks, paragraph returns, line breaks, special space symbols, etc.

    The text that gets inserted when you create a new text helps to quickly see how text would behave on canvas with set font parameters. You can disable this option in Preferences > Type > Fill New Type Objects With Placeholder Text, if you find this irritating.

  19. Please restore "Lettering" in the Trace presets

    I cannot match prior documents with the new advanced settings.
    I trace documents of text to be made into glass etchings and the previous "Lettering" preset in CS 5.5. Illustrator was perfect but the new sliders don't produce results as clean as previously.

  20. Please consider resizing second artboard (14,400 x 14,400) on video presets

    While the second artboard on the video presets is incredibly useful so imported art doesn't get cut off in After Effects, it is unnecessarily large. I can't imagine that anyone is actively storing art to be animated from off screen 7,000 pixels above or below the main artboard. Many people think this artboard is a mistake, but it would be far more useful if it were about 3000x3000 in a 1920x1080 document. Hitting Cmd/Ctrl+1 to "Fit Artboard to View" often zooms out to show the gigantic artboard because it is automatically selected any time you click outside of the main…
