Please give us a way to disable newbie help
I know the "Tour" window goes away if you skip it 3 times, but this is professional software we should have a way to disable ALL automatic help features. Also this doesnt need to reset when a new version of illustrator is sent out.

gcode
Hello!
I would be absolutely DELIGHTED if you could introduce a way to export G-Code from Illustrator. I have a laser engraver (Cubiio) and the only way I can turn vectors into G-Code at the moment is by using Inkscape and an extension by J Tech Photonics. I hate Inkscape with a passion so I grind my teeth every time. This is what I have to resort to when working with vector files that I would like to convert: https://cubiio.muherz.com/gcode_instruction.html
There is a G-Code extension available for Illustrator, created by https://diegomonzon.com/illustrator-to-gcode/ , but I have been unable to get it to create code that the Cubiio accepts. Every time I've tried the Cubiio freezes and has to be rebooted.
I've seen this discussed on a number of forums, so I am under the impression that a built-in G-Code generator would be greatly appreciated by a number of Illustrator users. So pretty please, with sugar on top?

Export for Screens - Please add EMF as an option
I have hundreds of EPS icon files I need to convert for use in PowerPoint which means they need to be in EMF, EMZ or WMF format. The Asset Export tool is amazing and would be perfect for this task, but unfortunately EMF is not an export option. Thanks!

allow scripting access to the matrix property of symbol items
Allow script access to the matrix property for symbol items. The matrix property is available for similar classes of items, such as raster items, but not symbols. It isn't possible for a script to understand how a symbol has been rendered without it.

Asset Export Organizer
Under "Asset Export" provide an option to organize or reorder (auto alphabetize) the assets once they have been named. It gets very difficult to review my batches whenever I would like to create and replace an existing asset. It would also be great if duplicate names detection is available to avoid the same names for assets .

Export Color Codes for all colors in a file
I often have to put together style guides and have to manually (literally by hand) write down each color's codes for CMYK, RGB and HEX from Illustrator down onto a sheet of paper and then type those into the InDesign file for the style guide's color section.
It would be super helpful to be able to export a report for all of the colors used in a file and be able to see the RGB/HEX codes and the CMYK codes for each (depending on what the document color mode is set to)
Example:
Color 1:
CMYK 100, 100, 100, 100
RGB 0,0,0
HEX #000000Color 2:
CMYK 0,0,0,0
RGB 255,255,255
HEX #FFFFFFBonus points if it can detect PMS colors too :P

Isolate selection doesn't get recorded in Actions
Action doesn't record 'Isolate Selection' command.
I tried to conjure up an action that automates entering the isolation mode when nothing is selected — https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35809273.
I can place an object stored in the action, isolate it, select all and delete. It’d be a nice workaround, and it almost works, except for we can’t Isolate Selected Object with an action, we can only Enter Isolation Mode from the Layers panel’s menu — these two commands are deceptively similar, but perform differently...and you can’t run the latter if Layers panel is collapsed or hidden (which is true for me at one of the machines I am using).Action doesn't record 'Isolate Selection' command.

Missing Fonts Copy/Paste Font File Name in Resolve Missing Fonts Window
If Multiple fonts are missing , and all need to be activated in my font management system, I have to type in the search bar the name of the font exactly as it is spelled in order for the correct one to appear. This can be time consuming when a customer has provided multiple fonts with irregular naming conventions.
Can we have an update that makes the notices in Resolve Missing Fonts window active so it is possible to copy the name of the font exactly as it is being recognized in the program?
Thanks.

Can't edit simultaneously two several selected fills in Appearance
AI allows to select several fills in Appearance, but you can only delete or duplicate them then.
If I select two fills with Shift+click, for example, and try to apply new swatch, it would be applied to first selected fill only. If I try to add effect — it would be applied not to both, but selected only again.A related entry,

Let me change reading direction with the vertical text tool
When using the vertical text tool (which probably was designed for asian scripts) the default textflow is from right to left (as with most asian languages, I guess). It would be need if I could change it to left to right.
Issue has also been discussed here:

Remember "Swatch options" Preview setting
Why do I have to check the box "Preview" every time I open the "Swatch options" panel? Why is this setting not remembered? I bet, lots of folks would appreciate it. Having it by default unchecked is annoying.

Right click to select layer
I want to be able to select a layer by right-clicking over it. This would eliminate the need to dig into the layer panel (often disorganized when in the early, experimental stages of a design), and would be especially helpful when selecting a locked layer without having to Unlock All.
See Sketch/Flinto for good examples of this.

Curvature tool continuation tolerance
I work quite zoomed in, and when drawing close to an existing path with the curvature tool, it often picks up the end of the existing path and continues drawing from it. I'd love to be able to select the tolerance for this behaviour, so I can be more precise.
Currently I have to draw my intended path somewhere else, and move it to its intended location, or switch to the pen tool, which it more accurate.

Enhancing the Convert to Shape Effects
The Rectangle, Eplise and Polygon tools had been updated with dynamic properties in CC 2014.
That will be huge to have these properties added to the "Convert to Shape" Effect and to add the Polygon and Star tools to the "Convert to Shape" list.
It will allow more Advanced Appearances and Graphic Styles.

Please improve support for copy & pasting from Animate CC!
I use Animate CC to animate, but Illustrator's drawing tools are VASTLY better — so I always design everything in Illustrator then import to Animate CC. Undoubtedly, the Animate CC team is responsible for some of the incompatibility here, and you would know better than I where their work ends and yours begins BUT…
The single most frustrating thing about working with Illustrator and Animate CC is that you can copy/cut vector shapes from Illustrator and paste them INTO Animate CC… but if you try to do the reverse — to, say, edit a shape using Illustrator's tools because they're just that much better — it does this:
Illustrator pastes VECTOR art from Animate CC as an embedded TIFF?!
Maybe this is something that some people actually want? If so, then having a dialog box (like Animate CC does when pasting from Illustrator) to choose how it's imported might be a good solution.
But for my purposes, I just think that vector art should be pasted into Illustrator as vector art in the most editable form possible.

Expanding Compound Clip Mask into induvidul paths for production
I want to produce individual paths to a set artboard size for production after designing a compound clip mask. sample below. There are to many steps involved in individualizing these paths. First you need to group everything with in the clip path then save in place. Then release the clip mask path then the compound path. Next you need to copy a paste into each individual path.
In Corel draw, after designing in the clip mask all you do is release that mask and it is automatically in each individual path after release.. Help me Ai best perform this task, since its what I do for a living, create decal graphic kits for motorsports.I want to produce individual paths to a set artboard size for production after designing a compound clip mask. sample below. Auto-adjust text box to text
In the past, with Freehand, we could to do that by clicking on the bottom corner right of the text box.
Recover that would be a good idea.
Thanks!9 votesLatest versions of Illustrator can do that.
If you have the bounding box enabled, double-click the bottom filled square handle to toggle Auto Size.
You can also do that in Area Type Options dialog.

A way to fill shapes with brush textures (paint bucket)
An ability to use a paint bucket to manually fill shapes with textures such as the watercolor brush, or an ability to pick swatches and textures within the fill panel.
