Allow to use units other than points for Thickness in Pathfinder Trap or Pathfinder Options dialogs
Illustrator is an international application.
But for some reason we still have places in its UI when we are hardbound to specific units, like points in Pathfinder Trap, or PPI as the only resolution unit (while Photoshop allows PPCM — please upvote this request here, http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32403901)

When dropping an object filled with a pattern into Swatches panel, open New Swatch dialog to add the pattern as a new swatch
If we drag-n-drop any artwork into Swatches, a new pattern swatch gets created based on this artwork.
But if we drag-n-drop an singular object with an existing pattern applied to it — nothing happens, as if Ai tries to create a nested pattern and refuses to do so. I think it’s quite obvious what a user intends to do in this case... but we get no warning.When we use Pattern Options panel/mode, and fill an object within a pattern with another pattern, and try to save, Ai throws us a message (rather vague — Ai knows for sure what…

More fields to Smart Guides angles
Have you ever required to customize Illustrator more, well, this is a feature that is here a long time ago and it would be nice to have more options: In Preferences > Smart Guides, we should have more options to add custom angles, since six fields are falling short. Is this doable?

More controls for the center point of the Transform effect: relative to artboard / object
I would like a few more controls for where Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform centers the transformation.
Next to the 3x3 centerpoint grid, there would be an "Origin" dropdown. offering the options of "Relative to Object" and "Relative to Artboard". "Relative to Object" is the current behavior, and should be the default option.
There would also be a pair of X and Y inputs to specify an offset of the centerpoint from whatever corner was chosen.

Add more icon types in History and stop calling some operations just 'Undo'
We finally got our History panel, hooray, thanks to this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31139326
But it’s been 2 years now, and yet still some operations are called just 'Undo' and have generic 'something from a menu' icon.
Move? Menu icon.
Copy? Menu icon.
Applying an effect? Menu icon.
Creating a repeat? Menu icon.
Deleting a a portion with Shape Builder? Menu icon.
Applying a swatch? Menu icon.
Applying a graphic style? You guess.
These are all quite distinct, yet a generic icon is used.Calling a script? 'Undo' as well, as if Ai doesn’t know about scripts.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to copy-paste a layer from one file to another, including the layer’s effects / appearance?
Or to have an option to Duplicate a Layer into another file (like in Photoshop).

Allow to hold Shift to force Aligned (orthogonal) Dimensions
Ai now tries to smartly detect a relative position of the cursor to a dimension being created and choose if it should be parallel or oblique.
This sound like a smart solution, but in practice is SUCKS.
Take a look at this small GIF.
1. The dimension between two objects is live, and responds to the object being moved up and down fine
2. But if I choose to move it to the right, it says 'hey, I am a dimension between two points, I’m switching to be slanted'

Warn about text elements in a document
Greetings, team. I have a suggestion to enhance your fantastic design software. I frequently work with tiny text elements in my vector art designs for textile sublimation. The challenge lies in the sheer volume of items I create daily, each with various sizes and variations. Sometimes, I inadvertently include text within the art, only to notice it after printing. あるレイヤーを、添付画像の設定で「透明分割を分割統合」すると、レイヤーウインドウの中のレイヤーの位置が、一番上に来てしまうエラーがあります。

Add Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X as a text modal keyboard shortcut for strikethrough text
Recently Ai finally added hotkeys slots for text formatting (following this request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33679330) — for bold, Underline, Italics.
We need more.
Even though Strikethrough (as well as Underline) in Ai is very basic and does not allow customization (here is a request about both: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48103976), we need at least an empty hotkey slot for it. Most apps support Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X for this, so I suggest the same combination.2 votes -
Images with the file name underneath.
Would be great if you could place images on to an artboard and have the option to display the files name underneath the image.
This would be great when designing images for Etsy showing the customer the choice of images they can choose and then tell you the file name of their chosen image.3 votes -
Allow to make menus and dropdowns more compact on smaller screens
Anything under 1920x1080 does not allow for UI scaling. I use the drop down menus a lot. When I have to also scroll on each drop down menu it causes a lot of time loss. If I could scale the menu lists to remove the need to scroll it would be very helpful.
I see that the tab/menu for Effect is still an older style menu list. It's much more compact.
Maybe there is a way to revert all the menu lists to that older style?

Improve Assigning Color Profile
I’ve been running into some challenges with color profiles in Adobe Illustrator that I think could use improvement. Every time I open a document, I’m asked to either assign or discard a color profile. The issue is, even when I choose and save the file, Illustrator asks me again when I reopen it. Is there a reason it’s not saving my choice?
Another thing that could help a lot is when working with multiple images, like 20 or more. Instead of getting prompted one by one for each image, it would be much faster if I could see a list…

Dimensions layer should stay locked
Since you decided to force the creation of a specialized Dimensions layer on us when a dimensions is created (and here is a feature request to make this optional: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48236954), we now have a problem with accidental creation of art directly in this dedicated layer, since every time a dimension is selected, this layer gets active and unlocked (reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/47570813)
Since you probably don’t really care, and won’t solve both issues, perhaps you should keep this layer locked and not unlock until we choose to.

Allow Live Paint selection to have complex appearance
Using Live Paint Selection Tool, we can choose sections of the Live Paint objects, areas and segments of contours, assigning fills and color to them.
But what we can assign is rather basic (the same as for live characters, and the related request about the same deal is here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/46545787)
We can’t assign a brush, change order of appearance attributes, add a second fill and offset it, assign any effect to it, distort or roughen — only fill under stroke, no stroke alignment (even though the panel lies it can be done), no arrowheads... at least dash count as…2 votes -
