Trim Transparent Pixels on PNG Export BROKEN in 24.3
Exporting PNG used to trim out transparent pixels but in Version 24.3 that feature is broken. Exporting PNG results in a file with the dimensions of the object or group INCLUDING transparent pixels.

Illustrator is not exporting with the current file name
- Create a document
- Draw a rectangle (just for it to have something inside)
- Save it anywhere as '1.ai'
- Export a, say, TIF, with default settings (these don't really matter) — Ai will offer '1.tif' name for the file exported
- Save this document as '2.ai'
- Export another TIF — Ail will use '1.tif' name, although the file is now '2.ai' This is wrong. Ai should adapt the name from the file actual name and not the original one.

PDF Export/Save .joboptions not appearing; cannot use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard joboptions
Adobe PDF Export presets (.joboptions) that work in ID, PS do not appear as options in Save As > PDF in AI.
Edit > Adobe PDF Presets... show they are installed. Attempting to Install them manually returns an error: "The preset '[XX.joboptions]' is not recognized as a valid .joboptions file." They cannot be Edited nor Exported from this dialog. (Even though they can be Edited and reimported in other apps.)
Affected presets use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard.
Illustrator requires PDF Export presets specifying Standard PDF/X-4:2007 or lower/None.
Creating new presets within Illustrator and selecting "Standard: PDF/X-4:2010" in the dialog actually creates .joboptions…

Saving operation get cancelled when Save in background is checked.
When Save in the background checkbox is checked, saving the document using the script, gives an error operation was cancelled and the automation process stop. But if uncheck this setting everything works fine. This happens when we show our custom progress bar dialog. So I think progress bar dialog is interfering with the process of saving the document in the background. Could you please look into this issue and see what can be done for this at your end?

Please remove the "The document [name] is currently getting saved. It will be closed after the save is complete." dialog
Or at least make that optional. It's a common practice to Command-S, Command-W, and now it's an extra step to hit "ok". If you don't click okay (or press enter), it just hangs there, not doing anything until you get rid of the dialog.
Either make the dialog optional, or handle it like InDesign, where the dialog disappears when the file is saved and then the window closes.
SO annoying with 2020 AI

Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .

Saving a file should not highlight the extension
When saving (copy, exporting, etc), the save box highlights the extension. This should not happen. Soon as you choose a different format, the extension is no longer highlighted (which is good and how it should be). The extension should not be highlighted. This Illustrator bug happened after the Mac Catalina update.

Can't save files in Catalina
With the new OS Catalina, Illustrator no longer can save, save as or export any file. This is a critical issue. Not sure how it would be missed in testing. is it a known issue and being worked on?

SVG Stroke Widths are not scaled according to viewBox
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Illustrator CC 2019- rename the attached .txt file to .svg and import the SVG file into Illustrator.
expected: it should display two horizontal lines
actual: it appears as a rectangle because the lines are touchinghere are two lines, 200px apart, with 100px stroke width in a 500x500 SVG with a viewbox of 1000x1000. since the viewbox is twice the size of the SVG document, the stroke width should be scaled down to 50px and the lines should not overlap.

Unit issue with DXF exported from Illustrator
Hello,
Units are not correct when exporting DXF files from Illustrator CC.A 100 mm diameter circle exported from illustrator CC (22.0.1) is opened in Creo Parametric 4.0 (M070) and measures 2540 mm.
My CC options are in millimeters
$INSUNITS in DXF file should be defined to 4 = Millimeters
Actually it is exported with 1 and this is incorrect.Changing $INSUNITS from 1 to 4 in Notepad is not a sustainable solution !
Default drawing units for AutoCAD DesignCenter blocks:

Export as SVG: linked image gets deleted
Hi All,
I have an issue when exporting to SVG.
I created an AI file with a linked jpg image as a background, and some text on top.
When I export to SVG, the original jpg image gets deleted (I mean the original file, it disappears from Finder, it's not even in the recycle bin) and then Illustrator gives me the message "Some files are missing or modified in the links panel. Would you like to update them now?".
So, the first time I export, the SVG is saved correctly but I lose the original image file, if I try…4 votesCompleted (Comments Open) · AdminRama (Mgr, Software Quality Engineering, Adobe Illustrator) respondedThis issue is fixed in Illustrator 23.0.2 update

XD and PS defaults to open .ai files - AI files should open with Illustrator only
Working in windows 10. After updating XD and Illustrator to 2019, all my existing .ai files have been defaulted to open in XD. I can use the "Open With" option to successfully open .ai files in Illustrator but the default always stays with XD no matter how many times I select Illustrator.
Uninstalled XD. AI files cannot locate Illustrator as primary software for launch.

Illustrator CC 2018 in macOS High Sierra Save 'Adobe PDF' presets/.joboptions scrambled, unsorted, mixed up
Since the Illustrator CC got updated to 2018 in macOS High Sierra, whenever saving as Adobe PDF, the PDF print settings/job options got all scrambled/mixed up in the 'Save Adobe PDF' dialog.
These should be sorted alphabetically, but as you can see they're all mixed up. A couple of colleagues are also experiencing this. Is there any way to workaround/fix this issue? See related thread from InDesign - could a startup JSX fix this issue?

Local file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.
LOCAL file saving and opening is extremely slow when connected to slow external server or VPN.
Even though I only work on my local drive, opening or saving a simple document takes up to 2 minutes when I'm connected to a slow VPN connection server. Note: I don't open/save through the VPN, I only opens and saves from my local drive.
The second I close the slow VPN connection, Illustrator works like normal and saves the same file in <3 seconds.
So -- What is Illustrator doing accessing that VPN connection when everything it needs is on the local disk?

SVG Export
AI 22.1. 64-bit Windows 10
The SVG export is much better in this new version of AI. However, on some art boards it is still missing some components. However, if I select the art board, then choose Save As SVG, it displays the components, but it is a much larger file. I will upload this AI file, which has 12 art boards. It is Art Board #11 that is not exporting properly when I press Ctrl+Alt+E. This image has 6 green bars, but 3 of those bars are not showing up in the image. Everything else seems to be correct.…3 votesWe have the fix available in the latest release.
