1. Artboard Size option is not available in the top Control panel in 30.6

   In previous versions, the Artboard Size option was available in the top Control panel next to Document Setup. This was very convenient and helped speed up my workflow. However, in version 30.6, I have to use the right-side Properties panel every time I want to resize an artboard. This adds extra steps and slows down the design process. It would be greatly appreciated if you could bring back the Artboard Size option to the top panel.

2. Illustrator 30.6: Window geometry is corrupted after exiting Presentation Mode on MacBook Pro M4 (macOS Tahoe 26.5.2)

   I can consistently reproduce a window geometry issue in Adobe Illustrator after exiting Presentation Mode.
   After pressing Esc to leave Presentation Mode, the Illustrator document window returns with an incorrect size that extends beyond the visible area of the built-in MacBook display.
   The issue only occurs on the built-in display. If Illustrator is moved to an external monitor, the problem does not occur.

   System
   Adobe Illustrator 30.6
   macOS Tahoe 26.5.2
   MacBook Pro 14-inch (M4, November 2024)

   Steps to reproduce
   Launch Illustrator.
   Open any document.
   Make sure the document window is on the built-in MacBook display.
   Enter Presentation Mode (Shift + F).
   Press Esc to exit Presentation Mode.

   Expected result
   The document window should return to exactly the same size and position it had before entering Presentation Mode.

   Actual result
   The document window returns with incorrect geometry.
   It appears as if Illustrator restores the window using an incorrect display size.
   The restored window extends beyond the visible display area.
   Clicking the macOS green zoom button temporarily resizes the window correctly to fit the display.
   However, clicking the green button again restores the previous (incorrect) window size that extends outside the screen.
   It looks like Illustrator stores an invalid "normal window" geometry after exiting Presentation Mode.

   Additional observations
   The problem occurs 100% of the time.
   Only affects the built-in MacBook display.
   Does not occur on an external monitor.
   Happens with every display scaling option ("Default", "More Space", etc.).
   Started immediately on a brand new MacBook Pro M4.
   The same workflow worked correctly on an older Intel MacBook Pro (2015).

   Troubleshooting already performed
   The following had no effect:
   Reset Illustrator preferences
   Disable Rectangle window manager
   Disable "Automatically fit below built-in camera"
   Test different display scaling options
   AppleScript window activation
   macOS window management settings
   No incorrect NSWindow Frame entries are stored in the Illustrator preferences.

   Suspected cause
   This appears to be a regression in Illustrator's window management on modern MacBook Pro models with a built-in display.
   After exiting Presentation Mode, Illustrator seems to restore the document window using incorrect display geometry (possibly related to the built-in display safe area / visible frame), while external displays work correctly.

3. Can’t change a gradient stop from swatches

   There is a bug that stops you from changing the colour in a gradient stop from your swatches. The only way to get around it is to use the eye dropper tool. This is a must fix and has been missed on multiple updates recently!

4. "Save each artboard to a separate file" creates AI files with hidden layers and missing linked files

   30.6.0 (Windows 11)

   I discovered an issue when saving an Illustrator document with multiple artboards as separate AI files.

   1. Create an Illustrator document with multiple artboards.
   2. Place artwork on each artboard, including linked images/files.
   3. Go to File > Save As.
   4. Choose Adobe Illustrator (.ai).
   5. Enable "Save each artboard to a separate file".
   6. Save the files.

   Expected result:
   Each generated AI file should contain all artwork from the corresponding artboard, with all layers remaining visible and all linked files preserved.

   Actual result:
   When opening the generated AI files in Illustrator, the files initially appear to be empty.

   After investigating, I found that:

   • The artwork is actually present, but the layer visibility (eye icon) is automatically turned off in the generated AI files.
   • Once the layer visibility is enabled manually, the artwork becomes visible again.
   • Linked files (placed images/artwork) are not included in the generated AI files, even though they are present in the original document.
   • When opening the generated AI files in Adobe Acrobat, the complete artwork is visible, including the linked content shown in the PDF preview. This indicates that the PDF compatibility data is present, but Illustrator does not correctly reconstruct the editable document.

   Additional information

   • The original Illustrator document opens and behaves normally.
   • The issue only occurs when using File → Save As → Save each artboard to a separate file.
   • The behavior is reproducible with my documents.

   This appears to be a bug in Illustrator where the "Save each artboard to a separate file" function incorrectly changes layer visibility and does not correctly preserve linked content in the editable AI data, while the embedded PDF preview remains intact.

   I would appreciate it if Adobe could investigate this issue, as it makes the "Save each artboard to a separate file" feature unreliable for production workflows.

5. Vector shape out of place after saving as SVG

   This is about the version 30.6. After saving the illustration as SVG, some elements got out of place.
   As you'll see on the attachment, the black elements should be aligned to the road lanes.
   I had to down grade to version 30.1 (desktop) to fix it.

6. Shapes move when scaling

   Window 11 Pro
   Ai verion: 30.6

   Make a square and add a stroke. Align stroke to center. Grab the top path with selection arrow and pull down. The square will decrease in size but the bottom of the square will move down a little. It should stay in place. This happens with outside aligned stroke as well, but not inside.

8. Extremely Sluggish after Using Edit Toolbar

   Picking any tool from Edit Toolbar will bring Illustrator to a crawl. Popups become unresponsive for around 5 seconds. If I start Illustrator while holding down Shift Ctrl Alt, it works great - but only when I do so. If I don't, it's back to being slow. Running Illustrator as an Administrator also makes it run great.

   Text objects and fonts should be selectable so that the text can be edited normally.

   Actual result:
   Objects cannot be selected or grabbed reliably.
   The selection cursor/arrow does not behave consistently.
   Text objects and fonts cannot be selected properly, so the text cannot be edited.
   The issue still occurs even after restarting the computer.

    [Summary]
    While editing an Area Type text frame, several characters near the end of the text were modified. Immediately afterward, a portion of the text disappeared.
    The text itself still exists and is selectable, but is no longer rendered correctly.
    The issue is also reproduced in exported PDF files.
    Creating outlines renders all missing text correctly.
    Changing the Composer temporarily restores the missing text, but introduces different layout corruption (first-line indentation becomes incorrect).
    Creating a brand-new Area Type frame and pasting the identical text completely resolves the issue.

    [Workflow]
    The document was created as follows:
    Original document created in Adobe InDesign.
    Exported as PDF.
    Text copied from the PDF.
    New Illustrator document created.
    New Area Type text frames created manually in Illustrator.
    Text pasted into the new Area Type frame.
    No Illustrator document was converted from older versions.

    [Steps to Reproduce]
    Although the issue cannot currently be reproduced consistently, the following sequence produced the problem.
    1. Create a new Area Type text frame.
    2. Paste Korean text copied from a PDF exported from InDesign.
    3. Edit several characters near the end of the paragraph.
    4. Part of the text suddenly disappears.

    [Expected Result]
    •Text remains visible after editing.
    •Paragraph composition remains unchanged except for edited characters.

    [Actual Result]
    •Part of the text disappears.
    •Text object still contains all characters.
    •No text overflow exists.
    •Exported PDF also contains the missing text.
    •Creating Outlines displays all missing text correctly.

    [Investigation Performed]
    The following tests were performed.
    [Font substitution]
    Changed the font to another Korean font.
    [Result]
    Issue remained identical.

    [Text Overflow]
    Verified that no Area Type overflow existed.
    [Result]
    No overflow.

    [Reset Bounding Box]
    Object → Transform → Reset Bounding Box
    [Result]
    No change.

    [Clean Up]
    Object → Path → Clean Up
    [Result]
    No change.

    [Composer Change]
    Changing the Composer temporarily restored the missing text.
    However:
    •first-line indentation became corrupted
    •paragraph layout changed unexpectedly
    •switching Composer again produced different rendering issues
    This suggests recomposition inconsistencies rather than a paragraph formatting issue.

    [New Area Type Frame]
    Created a completely new Area Type frame.
    Copied the identical text into the new frame.
    [Result]
    Everything rendered correctly.
    The issue remained only in the original Area Type object.

    [Additional Observations]
    •The problem is not font-dependent.
    •The problem is not caused by Area Type overflow.
    •The text data itself is intact.
    •Rendering becomes normal after Create Outlines.
    •The issue appears to be tied to the original Area Type object.
    •Recomposition triggered by Composer produces inconsistent layout results.

    [Suspected Cause]
    The issue appears to originate from the internal composition state of a specific Area Type object.
    Possible areas to investigate:
    •Area Type internal composition cache
    •Japanese Composer recomposition
    •Area Type rendering state after editing
    •Korean text layout recomposition

    [Files Available]
    The following can be provided if necessary.
    •Original AI file
    •Screen recording
    •Before/After screenshots
    •PDF export demonstrating the issue

    The issue was isolated through multiple troubleshooting steps, and the only reliable workaround found was recreating the Area Type frame. Since the text content, fonts, and paragraph settings remain identical, this appears to be related to the internal composition state of the original Area Type object rather than user formatting or font corruption.

    *Additional finding
    The same AI file opens and renders correctly in Illustrator CC 2025 without any modification.
    The issue only occurs in Illustrator 30.6.
    This suggests that the problem may be a regression introduced in Illustrator 30.6 rather than a document-specific issue.

12. Opacity Slider Not Visible If Docked to Bottom

    If you dock top panel with tools and actions to the bottom you can't see the slider for Opacity at all. Other menus like "Stroke" and "Style" are popping up just fine.

    Illustrator2025以降のバージョンで、入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまいます。
    テキストを入力→保存→ファイルを閉じる→開き直す　と入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまうことがあり、入力し直しになります。
    テキストをを平打ちした時とエリア内テキスト両方で同じ症状が起きています。
    Illustrator2024ではそのようなことはありませんでした。

    My linked files are not working properly about 40% of the time. When I open them, they often display outdated colors, overlapping artwork, or other incorrect content. This issue has been happening consistently for almost five months, and it's becoming extremely frustrating.

    Sometimes everything works perfectly, but on days like today, every single linked file is incorrect. My only workaround is to repeatedly restart Illustrator—sometimes 20 times a day—and I've also tried restarting my computer, but the problem keeps coming back.

    Summary:
    Adobe Illustrator 30.3 reproducibly changes CMYK swatch values after a bitmap image from the system clipboard is pasted into a CMYK document. The issue appears after saving, closing, and reopening the .ai file.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new CMYK document in Illustrator 30.3.
    2. Create a CMYK swatch, for example C10 M10 Y10 K0.
    3. Paste any bitmap screenshot/image from the system clipboard into the document.
    4. Save the .ai file.
    5. Close the file.
    6. Reopen the file.
    7. Check the CMYK swatch value.

    Actual result:
    The CMYK swatch value changes from C10 M10 Y10 K0 to approximately C9.77 M9.77 Y9.77 K0 after reopening the file.

    Expected result:
    The CMYK swatch value should remain exactly C10 M10 Y10 K0. Pasting a bitmap image from the system clipboard should not modify existing CMYK swatch definitions.

    Additional observations:

    • The issue is reproducible in Illustrator 30.3.
    • The issue is specifically triggered by bitmap images pasted from the system clipboard.
    • If no clipboard bitmap image is pasted, the CMYK swatch value does not change.
    • CMYK values such as 0%, 50%, and 100% do not appear to change.
    • Values such as 10% change to approximately 9.77%, which suggests a possible unintended 8-bit quantization or percentage remapping.

    Adobe Illustrator 30.3 reproducibly changes CMYK swatch values after a bitmap image from the system clipboard is pasted into a CMYK document. The issue appears after saving, closing, and reopening the .ai file.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new CMYK document in Illustrator 30.3.
    2. Create a CMYK swatch, for example C10 M10 Y10 K0.
    3. Paste any bitmap screenshot/image from the system clipboard into the document.
    4. Save the .ai file.
    5. Close the file.
    6. Reopen the file.

19. Hidden Characters remain visible when exporting in PNG

    Windows 11 Pro Version 25H2

    I work with Hidden Characters on, and when I export a PNG (export for Screens), they remain visible. Hidden Characters aren't supposed to remain visible after a PNG export. The only way that I could resolve the issue is to turn them off. But when I try to disable hidden characters, it looks like they are already off (even though I can still see them), and I have to turn them on, then off again, to make sure they are completely disabled.

20. Freeform Gradient stops vanish, can’t be placed or edited

    When trying to "edit gradient" in the Freeform Gradient tool I found that the handles disappear/glitch and don't allow me to place or change any of the values. I have tried in both positions (the top toolbar and right-side menus) but both times, even upon a restart and reset of performance, that the handles are not responding at all. I also cannot add stops in the tool window, I can only change the (new) "Method" dropdown box, which, in either setting, does not fix anything.

    I am on the latest version of illustrator (30.5.1) on Desktop Mac.
