Thats the main thing of illustration using adobe illustrator. Apply a look to a line, and then be able to adjust the line instead of a fill which it now creates, not usable at all. It’s also useful for animation purposes to be able to use a path. And the pencil isn’t the same thing as a brush, you want to see the endresult of what you…

  4. Adobe illustrator for iPad Pro Vector Line editing

    The Ipad version off illustrator, really needs a way to edit vector lines after they have been drawn. I mean I don't think it's only me that sees line editing as one of the main reasons why I draw with vectors.

    Ipad should just as Vectornator be able to edit drawn vector lines and to smooth drawn vector lines, otherwise I may just draw with procreate..

    Same thing with adobe fresco vector lines.

    If those features would be added the program would be off great use.

    I’m writing here after what feels like a decade of waiting for the iPad to become a true pro tool for design work. When Illustrator finally came to iPad, I thought, finally – this is it. But there’s a huge issue holding everything back: the lack of proper support for mouse, zoom, and keyboard shortcuts.

    It’s honestly mind-blowing. Why would you allow mouse and keyboard connections but leave out essential features like zooming with the mouse and supporting standard desktop shortcuts? The constant need to take my hands off the mouse or keyboard just to zoom or…

  8. Scales and line dimension handles

    I would like to see architecture and engineer scales in Ai, similar to Cadtools14 plugin. But allow the line segment transform properties to have the scaled X, Y positions as well as the scaled length in the transform dialogue box (as well as the native X, Y and length) so that the user can specify the X, Y, length (and angle) of both the scaled dimension as well as the native dimensions and have the line segment transform accordingly. Also have the rulers and grid lines with the option of the scaled dimensions

  9. Pen tool additional menu

    When using the desktop and the Pen tool, I am constantly adding points, subtracting points, and adjusting Bezier curves.
    On the iPad, I can add points, but I cannot remove them.
    Having the additional menu that the selection arrow has would be very helpful for the Pen tool.

  10. Eraser tool on the iPad should work with Shift and Option/Alt shortcuts (like desktop)

    On the desktop, Shift constrains the eraser to 45º and Option/Alt erases as a marquee.
    Can we please have the same functionality for the iPad? The touch shortcuts don't work with the eraser tool, and neither do the keyboard shortcuts. Thanks!

  11. ability to set repeat distance to specific value

    It would be very helpful to be able to set the repeat distance (space between repeated objects) to a specific value or have the distance snap to the grid when snap to grid is active.

  12. Ability to use arrow keys for cursor placement within text.

    When editing text, it’d be great to be able to use the arrow keys on the magic keyboard to move the cursor within text vs. having to use my fingers to drop the cursor.

  14. Keep width profiles and stroke settings

    Allow option to keep width profiles and stroke settings constantly active when drawing. So annoying that it reverts back to basic every time I make a new stroke with pencil or pen tools! It makes it hard to draw!

  16. Select all color swatches to delete at once.

    Since I almost always want to delete the standard color swatches in a new document, it would be nice to be able to select all at once to delete, or at least multiples, instead of having to delete one at a time, very inefficient.

  17. Ability to rotate objects exactly

    I need to be able to rotate an image by very small increments. It’s possible to do this past 1.8 and 358.2 degrees, but the object always automatically snaps to 0 after/before that. I often need to rotate something by just a few points of a degree to the left or right. Please allow more nuanced rotation, by either adding the ability to rotate by a corner, or pressing a button to rotate something by smaller increments than 10 degrees, or by adding a way to numerically enter an amount, or by getting rid of the ability to snap around…

  18. .AIC compatibility with InDesign

    I don’t see a way to place .aic files which I’ve manipulated on iPad into an InDesign document. Is the format not supported or is this an issue of file handling? As a separate note, the file organization isn’t very intuitive for Illustrator cloud documents and the slow refresh can often hide files completely.

  20. Move the undo button from near split screen button

    Move the undo and redo buttons when holding the iPad in portrait mode. Currently on the iPad mini (2021) the split screen 3 dots are overlapping the undo button. Which means I either have to turn my iPad to landscape or use the Apple Pencil and be very precise to click the left most part of the undo button in order for it to undo
