Placing or replacing an image sometimes causes loss of preview and in less than a minute the app crashes. I think it happens even if I cancel the command just before choosing an image to place. It is the same problem like in 28.1 version. Please fix it because I need to restart Illustrator every time it happens.

Just opening a file and "View Using GPU" is greyed out at preview mode. Some other files work. I think it has to do with the size of the artboards, at least at the opening.
Didn't notice it in previous versions.George supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedIt is a veeeery old limit and I would be happy if it could be increased to… let's say 10,000 px.

This is fixed in 27.1.0 Prerelease build-GM candidate build 2, available in Creative Cloud Desktop Prerelease section.
As part of the fix, we have added suffix checkbox in ExportAs dialog to toggle on/off the functionality.
An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedToday I downloaded version 27 and the problem was fixed.
Thank you.An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedDear Adobe, another perspective of the issue makes me think that, when doing such a change, you should take into account millions of files that already exist and that have been created under the logic that this feature will continue to exist as it was, at least as an option. Thank you.
An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedAdding artboard name to the filename is very important for my job and it is something I use all the time. It is strange how Adobe decided to bring this change without taking into account all those users that use it everyday. You could have an option for users that don't want it. But messing others people jobs is not pleasant at all. I hope you bring it back as soon as possible.
An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedIt is the second consecutive update of Illustrator that has the same bug.
Naming an artboard and exporting file as psd with "use artboards" checked, does not add the name of the artboard in the end of the filename as it used to do.
But if I have more than one artboards, then it works.
I'd like to add that if I choose a specific number of artboard to export (one of two i.e.), it won't work either. It only seems to work when there are more than one artboards and export all of them at once.
Please Adobe, fix this bug because it is something I do all the time, sometimes with many artboards and others with only one.
Thanks in advance.

The latest version of Illustrator now allows you to manually control the behavior with the 'Suffix' option in the Export As dialog. Please check if it it works for you and comment back if it does not.

An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedHi there! I just updated Illustrator to version 26.4.1 and exporting specific artboard (with its number in the dialogue window) as psd, does not add the artboard's name at the end of the filename.
Edit:
The problem appears even when only one artboard is present in the file.
Finally, I had to roll back to 26.3.1 (I didn't find more recent version before 26.4.1) in order to fix this problem because I use it hundreds of times every day. Please fix it soon!

Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedJuly 2022 and the problem of not keeping artboard names still exists. It's been a few years now. Very annoying.

An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedIt happened to every file saved from 26 I tried to open in 25.4.1. After re-installing 25.4.1 it stopped happening. A few days later it happened again with a file very similar to others that work correctly. I don't have this file anymore. If this happens again I will share the file. Thanks
An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedIllustrator 26 saves files that can not be opened in 25.4.1 although in the dialogue box one can read it is compatible with illustrator 24 and above (while saving in default version, 2020)

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.4.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
An error occurred while saving the comment George commentedUnfortunately the video won’t upload after two attempts.
I ‘ll try to describe it as simply as I can.
Type two consecutive characters. Make the one regular and the other one bold.
Then, select either one with the Type tool and paste some text you copied from Textedit.
The properties of this text should be the same of the selected character but it is not. It is the properties of the other character that is not selected.
In previous versions this didn't happen.George shared this idea · -

Version 28.3 and the problem persists. Even without placing the image, just opening the place dialogue box and hit cancel. When the place window is open the illustrator window behind it turns black and after placing an image or replacing or cancelling the action, the preview turns blank.
